I woke up at 6:40am.  Mommy and I laid out my clothes last night so it was a quick job to get dressed.  At first I said I wanted pancakes for breakfast but I changed my mind and had two pieces of frozen raisin bread.  I was ready for school by 7:15am.  I was the first child at the bus stop.

I have more Spirit Sticks than Mrs. Meredith.  I still enjoy taking my lunch. 

I jumped off the bus happy to see Anna Kate hollering that I was home.  I gave her a hug and ran off to play with Anthony and Jackson.  We started out playing basketball.  Barbara and GGM had a job keeping Anna Kate off our basketball court.  They finally decided they would take her inside to keep from having to interrupt our game.

I ended up playing video games with Anthony until Mommy called me home at 7pm.  We worked on my cowboy hat project.  I colored the hat (on a piece of paper) then I cut it out, then we put a bead of glue around part of the edge.  I put big red glitter (no it is something else but I can't think of the name) around part of the hat.  It is pretty cool.

It has been a week.  Mimz, Barbara, and Grandma all returned from their cruise to Key West, Florida and The Bahamas around noon today.  They all enjoyed their vacation and came back a bit rested.  They missed all of us.

Every day this week I got up easily, some days got dressed all by myself, and jumped onto the bus ready for school.   My behavior was always Orange or Red which means Good or Great behavior.  I did bring home a note saying that lately I have been showing too much interest in what other children were doing instead of doing my own work.

My homework this week was learning some facts about Texas.  Things like the state bird, flower, tree, the colors of the flag, etc.   I reviewed all the facts every evening and I had it down pat.

I was good every afternoon for GGM and GGF.   Mostly I played with my friends.

One day I ate one of GGM's frozen lemonades.  I'll have to do that more often.  It was good.

On Wednesday Daddy took me to my soccer practice.  He bought me a subway sandwich on the drive home.

On Thursday I got to go with Anthony's family to Anthony's baseball practice.

On Friday I used some bad word and my friends told on me.  I had to come inside.  I was not too happy about that.

On Saturday I had a soccer game.  I scored three goals and my team won the game.

Today is the day Mimz, Grandma, and Barbara get to start a much needed restful vacation away from all the demands of their daily lives for a full week.  At 10:30am they will board a shuttle that will take them to the dock where their Princess cruise ship will be.

They return on Sunday, February 28th, so my blog will be posted after that date.

Daddy helped me get ready for my first soccer game this season.   Mimz couldn't come because she has to go to a baby shower for cousin Lily.  (Remember I was a ring bearer at her wedding.)  GGF, Grandma, and Barbara came to watch me play.   Mommy will be at all of my remaining games.  We won!  My last two seasons of soccer, if we won any games, it was just one or maybe two at the most.  I scored three or maybe four goals.  I love playing defense.

Tomorrow Mimz, Grandma, Barbara, and a bunch of people that Mimz volunteers with at the hospital are going on a cruise, so they are getting last minute things done today.  I know Barbara had to give GGF a haircut, clean the waterfall, and make sure there was groceries in the pantry and refrigerator for my great-grandparents.  The good thing is Mommy and I will be here if they need anything, also Andy and Kristan are only 3.5 miles away.

Daddy and I went over to Mimz home.  I played with Skyler and Knox some.  When I came home I sat on the sofa next to Mimz and we watched Jake and the Neverland Pirates, while Daddy cooked dinner.

February 29th, Friday

I was ready for school early today.  Mommy drove me to school and came inside to see the school store.  I bought four spirit sticks.  One dollar each.  It was my own money.

I jumped off the bus expecting to see Mimz.  GGM said she would be here in just a few minutes and she was.    She took me home to start my guys weekend with my dad when he gets home from work.

I got to ride bikes and scooters with Knox and Skyler after I agreed to put on my helmet.  I didn't want to since the other kids didn't have them on, but Mimz was not going to give in, so I put on my helmet and had fun.

I woke up at Mimz home.  She brought me home and got me on the bus.

I jumped off the bus, hugged AK, grabbed a Pop Tart snack, and went off to play with Anthony and Jackson.    We played a lot of basketball.  Jackson rode his scooter in the flood control area.  Barbara has said I am not to even think about going down there.  Anthony and I just watched from our dead-end street fence.  Later Cole was riding his scooter down there.  Mommy would not let me and I was not happy about it.

I came inside right before it got dark.  After my bath, Mommy read to me, and I did some homework.  My homework is due on Fridays.

I like taking my lunch to school.  I have decided I don't like the pizza lunchables but I like the other ones I have had.

I had extra people waiting for me to jump off the bus.  Besides the regular, GGF, GGM, Anna Kate, and Barbara.  Mimz was there and so was Pearl and Nicole.  Pearl, Brad's mother, broke her hip on November 4th and today was her first day back home.

I came inside to dress for soccer practice, then Mimz and I stopped for a snack on the drive to Myers Park for practice on field 5C.  There was a new girl on my team and I knew her.  London, goes to my school but she is not in my class.  As it turns out her family knows all of Aunt Kathy's family.  What a small world!

I had a good practice.  I have better players on my team this year and that makes me work harder.  The kids have some good skills and they are all aggressive and fast.

I did as much homework as I could handle.  Daddy helped me with my bath, then I played a little, then we watched a little bit of the North Carolina vs. Duke basketball game before we read.

I was asleep by 8:36pm.

I wanted a Chocolate Pop Tart for a snack.  Jackson had some and I liked them so Mommy bought me some.

There were no kids around for me to play with so I played with Anna Kate until I saw George shooting baskets at his house.  I went down to shoot with him.  Then I came home and Barbara shot some baskets with me.  Anna Kate was outside and she wanted to be up close to where we were playing.  So we changed to something else. 

I worked on learning how to fly my remote controlled helicopter.  I worked at it a long time.  I did improve with all that practice. 

Finally Jackson could play so GGM and Barbara could take Anna Kate inside and play with her while they fixed dinner.  Jackson and I played more basketball.  He is playing on a basketball team this year.

Mommy and I went over to Andy's to visit.  We needed his to cut some PVC for a project Mommy is working on. 

Today was President's Day, so we had no school.  Barbara babysat Anna Kate for a couple hours, so GGM watched me.  She stayed outside watching Anthony and me play.  When Barbara got home, she took over.

GGF talked with George about how Anthony and I needed some basketball pointers.  George came down and showed us how to shoot, how to dribble between our legs, and how using a 5 pound ball could help build up arm strength.  When our lesson was over we were both shooting much better.

Mommy took half a day off work so she could come home to be with us.  Most of the afternoon all five us us kids were playing in one of our yards.  Basketball, football, and tag were our three main games to play.  We all also went on a bike ride around Anthony's block.

I was up early and helped fix my scrambled egg and sausage for breakfast.  I so wanted to go knock on Anthony's door but I had to wait until at least 9am.

I played basketball with Mommy and then played outside by myself until 9am.  Anthony was still asleep at 9am so I kept playing by my self.  Grandma came over.  All the adults are going to find more things to put in a garage sale.

Andy came over to hang some pictures for GGF.  Everyone still worked on pricing things for the sale.  GGM boiled a couple chickens and made chicken and noodles for our lunch.  Barbara made GGF some crab salad because he does not eat pasta.  Andy liked it so much he asked her to make him some more one day.  And he also wanted her to make some hot crackers.  I like the hot crackers but they are pretty spicy!

Andy went home, then Grandma went home.  Barbara, GGM, and GGF all took naps.   Mommy spent a lot of time looking for my class picture.  So far we can't find it.  We hope it shows up soon or Barbara will have to borrow Mimz' picture and scan it.

It was such a pretty day all the kids were outside all afternoon.  

Daddy took me to get my haircut this morning.  Mommy met us and brought me home.

I played with Anthony and Alyssa at their house and at mine.

We had a picnic lunch in my backyard: mac and cheese, milk, and a Popsicle .    Anthony and I each had four small bowls of mac and cheese.

 Barbara asked me to let her take a picture of us eating on the patio, I covered my face.   I bet the next time I ask Barbara to do something for me the answer will be "Sorry, no"  She says that is only fair.

Anthony and I played basketball.  Then we played football on my x-box.  Cole joined us for more outside play.

Today I wore a red hat, white shirt, blue jeans, and red shoes to be dressed to celebrate Valentine's Day with my classmates.  We shared our Valentine's and had cupcakes at a party.

I jumped off the bus to see my big fan club waiting for me.  Mimz took a picture of Anna Kate and me.  I had on my red hat.

Mimz took me home with her.  We were going skating with Knox and Skyler but our plans had to change, so I played with the neighbor girls riding scooters and skating.

Daddy had to work a long day but when he got home we ate a big tuna fish sandwich and chips for dinner.  Daddy and I peeled hard boiled egg and ate them.  I didn't use to like them, probably because of the rubbery texture.  I didn't use to like Jell-o.  I guess I need to try Jell-o now to see if I might like it now.

We looked through the Valentines my classmates gave to me.  I played with some of the little things that came with them.  Daddy and I went to his house to have an evening of playing on our PS4.

Today was my school's first annual Decades Dance Party.

All the kindergartners went to the gym at 9:15 to put on our performance to songs from the 50s.  Mommy and Daddy both had to work, but GGF, Grandma, Mimz, and Barbara came to watch us perform to six songs.

Splish Splash, Lollipop, Barbara Ann, Hound Dog, Whip Nae Nae, and The Shimmie Shake.

There was a large projector that we could see the dance routine while we were doing our dancing. 

I didn't tell Barbara that we would be dancing to the song Barbara Ann, so it was a nice surprise for her.  I happened to be close to the front, so they could all see me well and take pictures and video of me.

For the last song, we got to pick a partner, Alyssa and I chose each other.  Mimz and Grandma joined to dancing The Shimmie Shake. Barbara took a video of that dance.

After school I played football with Anthony and Jackson.  We took care of Anthony from 5pm to 8pm.  We played football, basketball, backwards shots, and the board game Sorry.  We loved the waffles and milk we had for dinner.  Anthony worked with on learning some state capitols.  While Mommy and I read.

Happy 32nd Birthday, Uncle Andy!  We would go out to eat except I have my first soccer practice and Andy and Kristan generally works long days and are tired when they gets home from work and they just want to relax and play with Anna Kate.

 Anna Kate now had my mom's old child's bench.  Her parents need to refinish it.

 Mommy, Andy, Bridget, and I all played with it.  Now it is Anna Kate's turn.

Today was crazy sock day at school.  I wore mismatched socks, one yellow and black and one red, white, and blue.  Pretty crazy.  Mommy rolled up my pant legs so my socks would show.

 Mr progress report.  We were very surprised I had an S+ in Math.  That is really my best subject.

I'm one lucky boy.  Mimz had just been shopping for new soccer cleats, chin guard, and soccer ball for me.  As it turns out my cleats match my new team uniform which is emerald blue camo.  Mrs Maritza is my coach.  She picked me to be on her team because her son, Eli, is one of my good buddies.  She also volunteered to be a coach otherwise we might not have a coach or team.  Thank you Mrs Maritza.

Mrs took me to my first practice.  My parents both came when they got off work.  We have a good team.  There is only one girl on my team and she is very good.

At home I read all of my sight word flash cards and then I counted them:  54!

 A part of my homework was to decide what I would wear to school tomorrow for our Decades Dance Day.  We had decided on a white t-shirt, jeans, high top sneakers, and slicking back my hair.

Today was dress up for Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday at my school. 

I wore my purple shirt we dyed last year, and a purple hat with sequins, and Mardi Gras necklace.  Anna Kate carried my necklace around for 15 minutes and did not want to give it up.

My tooth abscess was still there this morning, so Mommy made an appointment for me with Dr. Gosnell at 2:45pm.   That meant Barbara had to come pick me up from school at 2pm.  When she arrived I was outside on recess so it was 2:11pm before I got to the office.  It is about at 15 minute drive to the dentist so we were in time.  

They took an x-ray and said my teeth look good.  The big tooth in the middle of this x-ray is pushing down on my baby tooth right below it.

In this picture Dr. Gosnell is telling me that I am to push on my loose tooth backwards for the count of five and forward for the count of five and do this often to help it come out.  Mommy and I worked on it several times this evening.  It is not very loose.

I played football with Anthony and Jackson.  We play rough sometimes and I get the worst of it since they are 10 and 11 and I am only 6 but I get in there and give it my all. Alyssa has tried to play with us, but she is a little girl and it's just not her thing.

I wanted to go over to Andy's but there is just not enough time most evenings, after eating, bathing, reading, and homework if I want to get in bed on time.  I was in bed by 8:45pm which is a challenge.  We did read and we finished one part of my homework.
  

February 8, 2016 Monday

Today was Peace Symbol day at school.  I didn't want my picture taken either before school of after. 

I had a peace symbol sticker on my cheek, a purple hat with a peace symbol band and some peace symbol necklaces.  I was cute.

My act of kindness today was to give my bus driver a small bag of Hersey's kisses.  She smiled really big and was tickled with my little gift.

I played touch football with my friends even though it was cold outside.  Mommy and I did homework and read and worked on a Valentine's Day project for Mommy.
 
We looked at my front tooth that had that big abscess  this evening.  It is still there, not nearly as big as this weekend.  The tooth is not very loose.

I was in bed a few minutes early.  That is hard for me to do with all the things I need to get done every evening.
 

Next week activities.

It was a beautiful day.  Knox, Skylar, and I enjoyed a snack on their deck.
Knox' family were having a craw-fish boil and Super Bowl party. 

I taught Knox how to peel them.  He said he was going to eat the eyeballs!

Around 7pm Daddy took me to Sprouts to meet Barbara since tomorrow is a school day and I need time to get ready for bed.    I got home just in time to help Mommy hang up my freshly washed shirts.  I also helped her clean the bathtub.

We also watched the third quarter of the Super Bowl.  I'm rooting for the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning.

The good news:  Mason and Eli are going to be on a soccer team together.  They will practice on Wednesdays at Myers Park.


This is the bad news:

This came up during the night.  Daddy called a dentist and sent him this picture.  The dentist said it was caused by my new tooth pushing down.  He said for me to wiggle the baby tooth and try to get it out ASAP.   Daddy was to give me Ibuprofen for swelling.  If the tooth doesn't come out soon and the swelling doesn't get better, it might have to be pulled.  We think I can get it out in a day or two.

The bubble burst and then it didn't hurt any more.  I'll keep working to get it out.  Mimz got me from Daddy.  We ran an errand and I fell asleep in the car.  I sleep walked from the car to the couch and then I was out like a light.

Mimz and I met Aunt Kathy, Uncle Wendell, and Hudson for a craw-fish boil dinner at a restaurant on 2920.  Daddy has had a cold all week or he would have gone with us.

 Before Uncle Wendell had to peel the craw-fish for me, but I learned how to do it myself tonight.
I really had a good time at this dinner.  So of course, that means Mimz did too!



Wimbledon Country is having a neighborhood garage sale on March 5th, so Mommy, Barbara, my great grandparents, and Grandma all worked today going to through the house finding things to get rid of.  Kristan came over to get things that Anna Kate can use when she gets just a little bigger.

I was wrong when I wrote that I took my Valentine's box to school yesterday.  It was really today.
I took my lunch but left my lunch box at school.  I'll get it on Monday.

Today there was a teacher appreciation party.  A couple days ago, Mommy took four six-packs of soft drinks as her contribution.

I jumped off the bus and Mimz was there waiting for me along with everyone else.

Behavior = Yellow = good day.  Only yellow this nine weeks.

Mimz had arranged a play date for me with Eli and Jacob at the park.  We had a great time playing with all the kids there.  There were several boys there our age and we played soccer.

There are 49 kids signed up for soccer that don't have a coach.  They need parents to volunteer.  I hope I get a coach and a team. 

I developed a stuffy nose, so Mimz gave me some medicine.  Daddy and I went to his home to play Star Wars on PS4.

The Grand Parkway section by my home is now open.  Mimz said it takes about five minutes to get from I45 to Kuykendahl.

Today was our 100th day of school this year.  Each of us were to bring a collection of 100 things.  I think my collection will be one of a kind.

GGM and Barbara have saved empty wooden thread spools for 40 years.  They have about 140.  Only the old spools are made of wood.  New ones are made of plastic.  That is what I took for my collection.

Also today we were to dress up like old men and women.

Mommy put some grey color in my hair.  It turned out to not be really grey but it was different than my normal hair color.  I also wore suspenders and glasses and I walked with a cane.  I was the only child with a cane.  I had fun doing this dress-up day.

Today was one of the coldest mornings we have had.  I wore my heavy coat and gloves.

 We also had to bring our Valentine Box and our cards for our friends.

My card included a little box of colors for each of my friends.  Oh, Andy cut the slot in my wooden box so my friends can slide their Valentines for me into my box.  Our Valentine's Day party is next week.

I played with the boys until dark.  

Barbara was sick all day with a bad pain in stomach area.  She could not eat of drink anything.  She finally decided to go to ER at 3:30, so Andy came home to take care of AK.  Grandma took her and on the drive she started feeling better.  The hospital staff did a very through check and found nothing wrong.  EKG, sonogram, ex rays, blood tests did not reveal what the problem was.  The got home at 7:45pm.  She went straight to bed.***

Mommy and I worked on my Valentines and my Valentines box.  We also colored my hair to try to make it grey like an old man would have.  It was grey but not as grey as we wanted.   We worked a little on homework and did my reading. 

Off to school on the bus.  Back home on the bus.

I played with all of my neighbor friends: Alyssa, Anthony, Jackson, and Cole.

Mommy and I went over to Andy's for a bit, but not for long.  We had to come home to do my reading and review my flash cards. 

I went to school with my box almost full of coins.  I had asked family members for change to put in the box for a kids charity.  Over the weekend I collected $35.05 in coins.  I thought I had to return the box today, but maybe we had more days, I'm not really sure.

I've taken my lunch the past two days.  I like both, taking my lunch and buying it.

I played with my friends most of the time from 3:40pm to 7pm.  For about 15 minutes Barbara and I played catch with a soft football.  I threw good spirals and she could catch most of my throws.  She just threw it in my direction and I moved to wherever I needed to be to catch it.

We read some of one of my library books.  Then I wrote names of people I know on Mommy's computer.  I'll need to work on a lot of homework tomorrow.
