Mimz dropped me off at running club, then she dropped my baseball gear off at my home.

I didn't go to baseball practice.

I did watch some of the Dallas Cowboy's game, before I fell asleep.

Wednesday, November 29, 2017

I took a shower and got dressed while Barbara fixed me two packets of oatmeal.  While eating, I swiped a piece of Barbara's bacon.  I think she fixes two pieces so there will be a piece for me if I want it.  I even asked for another piece.

I couldn't find my football this morning.  I know, I know.... put it where it belongs and it will be there when I want it.  I probably took it upstairs last night and I will find it in my room or Mommy's room.

School was a normal day.  I wanted two packets of oatmeal for a snack, then Mimz arrived and I had to do some baseball homework.  I had to answer three questions:  What makes a good teammate?  How can I be a good teammate?  Who on my team do I think is a good teammate?

I went down to Austin's to play for 30 minutes, then Mimz and I left for my baseball batting and pitching practice.

Tuesday, November 28, 2017

I wanted two packets of oatmeal this morning instead of my normal one.  I guess I'm getting bigger and needing more fuel.

I was glad to see Julian at the bus stop.

I had to do my reading homework and review my spelling words as soon as I got off the bus.  It was very easy and didn't take buy a few minutes.   I promised to read for 20 minutes as soon as I came home from playing football at Austin's because there is so little daylight for us to play outside.  When I got home I didn't want to read.  I have burned that bridge down and I won't be trusted to keep my word about reading.  I guess I can plan on reading as soon as I get home for 20 minutes.  I won't like it....

I was in bed by 8pm.

Happy birthday, Daddy!

Daddy dropped me off at home in time for me to eat breakfast and stand at the bus stop with my friends for a little while.  We were all glad to get to see each other and to get back to school.

It was a pretty regular day, nothing unusual happening.

I jumped off the bus and talked Barbara in to letting me play first and do homework later since I didn't have baseball practice.  I promised I would be willing to do homework without complaining.

I played at Austin's.  When it got dark Anthony and I walked home and we played outside until 7pm.

I didn't willingly do my homework like I had promised.  I kept saying my homework isn't due until Friday, why do I have to do it tonight.  That ended up causing me to earn a consequence AND still having do to homework tonight.  I easily did my math homework and enjoyed doing it after I sat down and got to business.  I read and I studied my spelling words.  Then I got to watch the Texans play football.  I claimed I was too tired to brush my teeth.... didn't work.

Oh, Consequence: I will be doing my reading page of homework and reading for 20 minutes as soon as I get home from school tomorrow.   I'll be using up precious daylight to do homework when I could be outside playing.  When will I learn.

Mimz bought me a magazine with all the stats and pictures of the Astros.  I like to sit on the couch and read them to Mimz.

Happy Thanksgiving!  I am most thankful for all of my adults, who love me and try their best to help me grow into a considerate respectful young man.

I woke up at The Pond.  Papa fixed us breakfast and Grandma fixed us Monkey Bread.  Everyone was busy cooking Thanksgiving dinner or reading Black Friday ads.

Bradley got sick during the night.  This morning Anna Kate got sick.  I promise they did not catch this from me!!!!!!!  Bradley seems okay by morning but his poor mom was very tired after not getting much sleep.

GGM and Barbara arrived about 10:30am.  I played Ten-nix with them, Bridget and Chris.  I think Bridget was the big winner.   After we finished playing Mommy took me to Daddy so I could go with him and Mimz to Uncle Scott's for Thanksgiving dinner.

Anna Kate got sick while Uncle Chris was holding her.  Poor little girl and poor Uncle Chris.  Both Bradley and Anna Kate went down for a nap right before everyone sat down to eat dinner.  They ate their dinner early enough that Barbara and GGM would be able to eat and visit before leaving early enough that they could get home before dark.

Mimz had been cooking and had lots of good things ready to take to Uncle Scott's home.  She had her list posted on the garage door, so we could check our list and not leave anything behind.  I had my baseball stuff and a football (of course) to take to Scott's home.

Scott invited a friend's family to dinner.  They have been friends since middle school.  They have a daughter Presley who is one month older than me, so she is in third grade and a three-year-old daughter, Lincoln, who is three.  Presley is probably three inches taller than I am, and she beat me in a foot race.  We had a great time playing together.

Presley and I were best friends by the time we left at 8:30pm.  I was a little shocked and delighted at the same time to find out she could throw a football almost as good as I can.  I played catch with Morgan's boyfriend, Isaac; and Uncle Scott.  The big guys stayed outside with us a lot.

Aunt Jill had a table set up for us with markers for us to color Thanksgiving turkeys, pumpkins, and horn or plenty.  We had a blast.
Morgan has decided to attend the University of Alabama!  Mimz has already checked Google maps and has found out it is a 625 mile drive and takes 9 hours!   Maybe we will get to go to an Alabama football game.... I hope!

Wednesday 11-22-2017
Daddy took me to get my hair cut.  I like the way my hair looks.

Daddy brought me home around 2pm and when Mommy got home at 3pm we left to go to Papa and Grandma's home at the Pond.  Papa, Andy, Mommy, and I played football and baseball.
I played with Anna Kate.  She watched her iPad and I played on an iPhone.  She just likes being with me.

I forgot to write today so I'm not sure what happened.  I know that Mommy and Barbara were really sick one night and it took a couple of days for them to recover.  And the next night Daddy was just as sick. They all seem to have gotten the illness I had but it hit them all harder than it did me.

Nov 20, 2017

Mommy and Barbara were very very sick all Sunday night and all day Monday.  They had the same sickness I had plus fever, aches, and chills.

I slept until 8:30am.  I was feeling good.  I wanted eggs for breakfast so my dad fixed them for me.   Daddy took me over to Mimz home around 2pm.  I played with Knox for a while, then I complained that my stomach hurt.  I came in and played with the iPad on the couch.  I don't think I will eat much of the cabbage stew Mimz fixed for dinner.  I's still not back to normal.   I heard that Hudson, Harper, and their dad had my same illness.

Sunday, November 19, 2017

I woke up at 7:30am and said, "I feel good!"  Those are the words my adults want to hear.  I asked for cereal for breakfast.  I ate some dry cereal and ate some applesauce and drank a little Gatorade. I was still having a little bit of diarrhea.
I played Stride Academy for a bit, then I got back in bed and watched baseball on our iPad.  (I think I have part ownership of the iPad.)  Barbara and I watched videos about the bombing at Pearl Harbor.  Then I watched some videos of me at my baseball games.

I took one more anti-nausea pill to make sure we nip this stomach bug in the bud.

Saturday, November 18, 2017

I spent the day at my dad's.

Then Mommy took me to Alyssa's birthday party at Urban Air.
I was having fun playing Dodge Ball and obstacle course.  I ate pizza and Dipping Dots... then I got sick.  I threw up!  Mommy brought me home.  I got sick in the car.  Poor me!  I don't like being sick.

Mommy asked a pharmacist what she could get for me.  He said there is a bug going around that kids are getting.  He said the best thing was to keep me hydrated with Gatorade or Pedilite.  She bought me some orange Gatorade.

I threw up into a trash can about 30 minutes later, then I felt better.  Daddy was going to come get me, but I got sick in the garage and on the driveway near Daddy's truck.  We decided I better just stay home and rest.  Mimz brought over some medicine for nausea.  I put one under my tongue.
I'm sick but I don't feel too bad.

I watched the seventh game of the World Series while laying in bed.  I fell asleep about 9:45pm.  I had been a little warm, but not a real fever.  After I fell asleep I cooled off.

I slept all night and woke up at 7:30am saying I felt good and I was hungry.  That is a good sign.  Hope it means I am on the mend.

Friday, November 17, 2017

I woke up with a low-grade fever.  The thermometer said it was 99.7 but we aren't too sure that the thermometer was working right.   I didn't go to school.  I just wanted to lay in bed.  I don't have any symptom other that a fever and being tired.

I didn't want to miss today because it is the last day of school before Thanksgiving break and last days are always fun.

GGM and Barbara were cooking this morning, so I came downstairs to lay on the sofa.

Daddy came to get me around 10am.  He said we could go to the Breakfast Place.  I had not eaten breakfast yet, only because I didn't want to.  Barbara helped me wash the Eye Pink off my cheeks so I could go out to eat if I decided I wanted to.

Thursday, November 16, 2017

Mimz and I stopped at the doughnut shop on our way to my school for running club.  I decided I only wanted a doughnut and not a kalachie.  We gave the kalachie to GGM.  She enjoys them.

I had three P.E.s today.  I had running club before school, then regular PE class, then we had our Turkey Trot during which I ran 15 laps.
I earned this award because I ran 15 laps during Turkey Trot.

I said my stomach hurt as soon as I got off the bus but I still wanted to play with my friends until time for baseball practice.

At baseball practice I asked Mommy if we could tell the coach that I might need to sit out if I didn't feel good.  I actually played the entire time.

I came home after practice and went straight to sleep.  I didn't have a fever but I was very tired.  I did not have a snack, take a bath, or brush my teeth.... just straight to bed and quickly off to sleep.

Wednesday, November 15, 2017

Xavier has School Patrol duty before school.  Normally Julian rides to school with his mom and brother but today he came to the bus stop.  That made me happy.  Barbara quizzed us on the state capitols that I know.  It made me feel smart that I was the only bus stop kid to know them... but I know I have been practicing them and they haven't.

One of my friends gave me a small bunch of spirit sticks that she didn't want.  They were good ones too, for things like perfect attendance, great conducts,  A honor roll.  I don't know why she didn't want them.  Another of my friends gave me a bracelet that she made.  Barbara said I have a bunch of girl friends.  I sort of giggled and said Oh No!
I brought home an excellent progress report.  That sure makes me happy and of course it makes my adults happy too!
I played with my friends, for about 30 minutes then we left to meet Mimz at Sprouts.  Mimz took me to baseball batting practice.  I had a good practice.  I did get hit on the soft part of my lower chest by a wildly thrown pitch.  I didn't even see it coming.  I went down to the ground because it knocked the breath out of me.  Coach Brian was right there to stand me up and help me get my breath back.  I recovered quickly and we returned to our play.  The red mark on my chest was gone soon.

Tuesday, November 14, 2017

Alyssa beat me to the bus stop by about 5 seconds.  That is a first.  She is generally the last child to arrive.  She gave me an invitation to her birthday party at Urban Air this Saturday from 3 - 5pm.  I guess she enjoyed going there for my birthday and she decided to have her party there.

It was a routine day at school.

When I got off the bus, I found out that I can go to Alyssa's birthday party.  I told her I would be there.  I also found out that there is a special baseball practice at 5:30pm.  So I only got to play with my friends for a few minutes.  Barbara and I met my dad at Sprout's to get my baseball bag from him.  We then went straight to practice.  We got there 45 minutes early so I got in a cage and played like I was a pitcher, then I would go retrieve the ball.  I talked Barbara into throwing balls to me and I would be the catcher.  She threw underhanded and I rolled the balls back to her..... so funny!

Coach Kelso arrived at 5:15pm so I started my field practice then with him and his son.  Barbara stayed until Mommy arrived, then she went home.  She was tired...she and GGM babysit Bradley for five hours.

When I got home, I ate, then I did my reading homework page.  I also read for more than 20 minutes our of a chapter book.  My reading is really improving.

Monday, November 13, 2017

I was off to school with a smile.  I was thinking that I only have five more days of school this week, then I will have no school for NINE days!  I like school, but I like playing a bunch more!
For the past few days, every day when we five kids get off the bus, we pile on each other...
 we think it's fun.

I forgot to write that we had a Veteran's Day parade at school one day last week.  My kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Meredith, asked me if my Great Grandfather would be in the parade again this year.  I told her that he passed this summer.  She was sorry to hear that.  I told her I miss him.  I miss Pops too.

Sunday, November 12, 2017

I stayed at my dad's until time to go to church school.  I played football outside with the neighborhood boys.

Mommy took me to my Faith Formation class at 4;15pm.  When we got home it was already dark but I got to play for about ten minutes with Julian and Xavier before I had to come in for the evening.

I helped Mommy and Barbara counting money for cub scout popcorn sales.  So far 15 boys have turning in their money and I have sold the most... thanks 100 percent to Bridget.  She sold a bunch of popcorn at her office.

Mommy started cleaning out our holiday/costume closet.  She was getting rid of things we will never use again. I helped for a few minutes, then I found more interesting things to do.

I typed on Barbara's computer and printed out what I had typed.  I also went through all of my art work from first grade.  I brought it home in a large yellow envelope and Barbara has kept it all.    She loves everything I draw or write.

I was in bed at 8:30pm but it was 9:05pm before I could fall asleep.

Saturday, November 11, 2017

I spent the morning with my dad.

This afternoon Mommy and I went to a 3 hour retreat at my church.  It had to do with my reconciliation.

None of my friends were home or they couldn't play, so I asked my mom if I could go to my dad's so I could play with my friends in his neighborhood.

Friday  Nov 10, 2017
Daddy brought me home so I could get on the bus.  We only had to wait a few minutes for the bus to arrive.

I came home from school and played with friends.  After Mommy got home, she took me to meet my dad.  I spent the evening and night with him.

Thursday, November 9, 2017

I woke up at 7am and realized that I had running club at 7:15am.  I got dressed very quickly and Barbara jumped up and met me at the door.  I made it to the track in plenty of time.  I ran and ended up with a total of 34 laps (I think)

I got home from school expecting my dad to be waiting for me.  I called him and found out he was working in his yard.  He would come get me when he finished, so I went to Austin's to play football.

Barbara came to get me around 5pm so I could come home to eat and get dressed.  Daddy arrived at 5:30pm which gave us just enough time to get to practice on time.  Mommy came to practice for a few minutes, then she went home.  Daddy took me home with him and I spent the night at his house.

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

I finished my "turkey in disguise last night.
Can you tell he is hiding in a gum ball machine.  Only his eyes and his feet are showing.

I took my completed "turkey in disguise" to school today.  It isn't due until Friday but four other children turned theirs in already, so I took mine in early too.

I practiced my spelling words, then I read for about ten minutes before going to friends to play with.  No one could play so, I got Barbara to throw whiffle balls to me.  She won't play with hard balls.

Mimz is in Florida, so Barbara took me to my baseball batting practice.  She really enjoyed watching this practice.  We started by working on picking up ground balls and getting in a position to throw them.  Then I did some pitching, then batting off of a t-ball stand, then batting off of another dad, then we did some exercises.
I got hit by a batted ball, but by the time I got home the red mark was gone. It did hurt but not too much and not for very long.

We are supposed to practice squatting and holding it for longer and longer periods of time to build up our leg muscles.

I came home and ate two small bowls of spaghetti, then a small bowl of cereal.  I was in bed at 8:20pm and asleep in short order.
Mimz and Mrs Ross spent the day at Animal Kingdom today. So far this was Mimz favorite day of their vacation.

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

It is much easier for me to wake up in the morning since Daylight Saving Time started.
I went out to the bus stop at my normal time, 7:25am and Alyssa was walking to the stop too.  She is normally the last child to arrive.  She said she normally goes to bed at 10pm and has a hard time getting up.  I'm glad my family doesn't allow me to stay up late.  It's no fun being tired all day.  I like having pep and feeling like running and being interested in having a fun day.

I couldn't think of anything interesting that happened at school today.

I played with my friends at Austin's and then in my front yard.

At 5:45pm I had to quit playing to get ready for cub scout pack meeting.  At the meeting, Mommy got several of the boy's completed individual popcorn order forms.  We also got a new Pinewood Derby car for me to make into a car.  Andy helped me last year.  I'll ask him to help me again this year.  I also got a  Aug 21, 2017 Eclipse badge.  The school would not let us outside to see it, but we did talk about it and I did watch it on TV.

At home, Mommy and I finished my "turkey in disguise" project.  I am really proud of it.  Mommy helped me but I did every part that I could do by myself.

Monday, November 6, 2017

My dad drove Mimz and Kay Ross to Hobby airport at 4:15am so they can fly to Orlando, Florida to start their Disney World vacation.  Mimz said she would share pictures.  I know she will read my blog every day to find out what I'm doing while she is off having a great time.

I woke up at 6:40am before anyone else was awake.  I started to wear my Elliot Cowboy's shirt to school since the Cowboys won their football game yesterday, but I decided not to.  I don't know why I changed my mind.

I helped GGM and Barbara empty the dishwasher.  GGM said, "Many hands make light work."  We discussed what that means.

Barbara and GGM are going to babysit Bradley for a few hours.  We have three bags of my old baby toys for him to play with.  Anna Kate has played with those toys a lot. He sits on the living room floor and enjoys going through each bag to find a toy to play with for a couple of minutes, then he goes back into the bag to find another treasure.

I was at the bus stop at 7:15am, long before any other child.  Right away I noticed it was really light outside... this is the first day for us to go to school since Daylight Saving time started.  Sunrise was at 6:40am.   Barbara quizzed me on my six state capitols: Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Florida and Alaska.  When Cole and Alyssa arrived she quizzed us some on multiplication facts.

Today we had PE two times.  We do that every Monday.

I jumped off the bus and told Barbara my math homework was going to be hard.  Well, to my surprise I worked every problem with no help.  It involved "carrying" ten into the tens column when adding numbers together.   I also read my entire page of reading homework only needing help reading two words: instead and thought.

Julian and Xavier and I played football at Austin's until it got dark.  I spent the evening working on my "turkey in disguise" project.  It is about 3/4th finished.  I watched a little Monday night football before I fell asleep at 8:30pm which is my real bedtime.
Mimz shared two pictures of her at Epcot Center.  She is having a great time and...
one day she wants to take me so she can watch me enjoy Disney World.

Sunday, November 5, 2017

I had a full day: baseball games at 9am and 1pm and Faith Formation class at 4:15pm.

We won the first baseball game and lost the second.  I got my first real hit today.  I was out at first base but I did earn an RBI.  I played third, second, and first base, and at the very end I pitched to three batters. I didn't see much action at third or second bases.  At first base I put at least two guys out.
I threw several strikes and I think all the guys either struck out or were out at first.
That is me closest to the camera.  I'm number 27, just like Jose Altuve!
We all like to wear Eye Black.
I have a pretty good bunch of boys on my baseball team...
...and my coaches like me and think I am a pretty good ball player.

At home I played with Julian and Xavier for only 30 minutes because it was dark very early.

Inside I worked on my school turkey project with Mommy.  I think we are about 1/2 finished.  It is due on Friday, so I'll have to work on it every day to have it finished.

I was in bed at 8:20pm and asleep well before 9pm.
Saturday Nov 4, 2017
Mimz fixed me eggs with hot sauce, just like I like them.

I had football practice at 1:30pm and football game at 2:30pm.  Mommy, Mimz, and Barbara were there to cheer me on.  Daddy was out of town on a job.  I scored at least one touchdown and I had some great catches.  I am always enthusiastic when I am playing football.  I like my eye pink... those are the pink stripes I paint under my eyes.  Some boys had on eye black and some didn't have anything.
These two boys are on my baseball team also.  There dad's are my baseball coaches.
I'm number 4.  Barbara likes for me to wear bright colored socks so she can find me on the field and take my picture
My pink socks match my Eye Pink.
We are required to wear mouth guards.
We always have team meetings. The coaches tell us that they notice how much we are improving and they encourage us to keep doing a fine job.

I was sort of bored after my games because none of my friends could play.  Mommy remembered we needed to work on my "turkey in disguise" school project.  We had already been on-line and decided what we were going to do.  It will be a turkey hiding inside a gumball machine.  He is hoping he won't be found and eaten for Thanksgiving.

I also worked on my shoe project.  When I am finished Mommy will wear the shoes to work to show her co-workers.  I'm covering a pair of shoes in rhinestones.

I watched some of the Dallas Cowboy's game, but mostly I worked on my projects.  Barbara forgot to bring out a can of Pringles for our tradition of eating it during a football game.

I was asleep before for 9pm.

Friday, November 3, 2017

I couldn't find my Metzler spirit shirt so I wore something else to school.  I don't know why I can't find my special clothes.   All the laundry is done and all of my shirts are hung up.  Beats me why it is hard to keep track of my clothes.
Since it is Friday, I wanted to eat a cinnamon roll at school.  I learned what TGIF means.  While waiting for the bus, Barbara quizzed Alyssa and me on a few state capitols.  We sort of know five of them.

Barbara and Mimz met at Sprouts so I could start my weekend with my dad.
Knox showed me his new baseball bat.

Thursday, November 2, 2017

I was thrilled to hear that my Astro's team won the World Series.  They were playing the great LA Dodgers.  The final score was 5 to 1.  I saw the 5 scores because they were early in the game.  I watched the highlights on the iPad while we drove to school this morning.
Our running club shirts arrived.   My old faithful Monk Monk wanted in the picture.
This is the back of our shirt.  Cute saying, I think.
Mimz and I stopped at the doughnut shop before heading to my school.  We arrived early, then I decided I needed a bathroom break, so we quickly drove to McDonald's just down the street.  I was back in time to start running with the group.

I played football at Austin's for about an hour, then I had to get ready for baseball practice.
This is my practice uniform.  I put my cleats on in the car.  Barbara took me to practice and Mommy met us there.   I had a good practice.  It's hard work, but I love all that playing.

Wednesday, November 1, 2017

When I woke up first thing I asked was who won the baseball game?  Ah, too bad.  Tied 3 wins to 3 wins.  So I guess tonight will be the BIG game.

Here are my school pictures:

After school I played until time to leave for baseball batting practice.  We met Mimz at Sprouts so she could take me.

When we got to Mimz' home, Daddy was grilling and we were all getting ready to watch the Astro's work hard to win the World Series pennant.
I tried my best to stay awake.  I saw the five Astro's runs and then fell asleep.  I hope there is great news for me when I wake up in the morning.
One of my official football pictures.
