Today I went to Layla's birthday party at Burroughs Park.
We played on the playground and had hot dogs and ate cake. Layla is in my class and their were three children from our class at the party.

Oct 29, 2016 Saturday
I had to miss my soccer game and my football practice and game because we had to be at Daddy's company picnic at 10am and we stayed until 6pm. I spent most of my time playing soccer with little kids and big kids mixed. I love playing with big kids. It makes me try harder.
Playing is fun, but I also enjoyed watching my dad in the Tug of War contest. There were ten teams and Daddy's team came in second. My dad is strong.
I was worn out by the end of the day.
I didn't make it to my Cub Scout Halloween party. I just can't go to everything.
My mom forgot to take pictures.

Today was Metzler's anual Storybook Character Parade.
I wore a fireman's jacket and helmet.
Each child brought his favorite book to school and dressed as a character in the book.
My book was All Of the Bravest, which was my dad and Scott's favorite book when they were little boys. You can see my Dad's signature on the top of the right hand page.
GGF and Barbara came to my parade. Mommy and Daddy had to work. Mimz had to volunteer at her hospital. GGF had a stent put in his heart on Tuesday but he was perfectly well enough to come see me in the parade.
I came home from school saying I did great on my spelling test. I spelled all six words correctly. My folder was lots of classwork work: seven 100's, one 90, and one 70. I had a very good week at school.
My arm is hard, hot, and a little red where I got my flu shot. It hurts if I hit it. I bet it will be better soon.
For Halloween I am going to be the Tin Man. I needed a snap sewn onto it, so Barbara went through the sewing maching cabinet and finally found one "hook and eye" that she sewed onto my costume.
I played with Cole for a couple of hours after school, then Mommy and I went over to Daddy's home.
Cole is a very good at drawing. I need him to give me a few lessons.
Outside we played Dodge Ball..
We like to play anything that is rough.

After spending the night at Mimz' home, she brought me home and got me on the bus.
Barbara and Anna Kate surprised me by being in the cafeteria at 11am when my class arrived for lunch. Anna Kate was sure glad to see me. She calls me "May-ya." They brought a McDonald's Happy Meal which I shared with Anna Kate. I let Anna Kate have the Halloween bucket. I'm such a nice big cousin.
Then a few hours later, Barbara and Anna Kate came to school at 2:15pm to get me for early dismissal so I could get to my 3:45pm Well-baby check up with Dr. Muehe, pronounced "Moo-e."
My bus arrives home between 3:30 and 3:40 so we couldn't wait for me to ride the bus.
This is the traditional picture of me in the waiting room.
And another pose now that I am getting to be a big kid.
I was 4 feet and 3/4 inches tall, that is at the 60 percentile.
I weighed 52 pounds and 9 ounces, that is at the 56 percentile. So I am well proportioned, Tall and slim, which is what we want. My blood pressure was 105/64, which is 73% and 69% (I don't know what that means) My temperature was 97.4 degrees.
My eyesight was 20/30 in both eyes and my hearing were very good.
Here I was just waiting for the doctor to come in.
I knew what sports these uniforms were for except the lacrosse uniform. I did know that Austin, my cousin, played lacrosse.
Another snapshot of me waiting. We really only had about a ten minute wait.
This piture was taken a couple of seconds before I got a flu shot. It really did sting, but I took it like a big guy.
My seven-year Well Baby report.
I got a sucker (because it is Halloween) and a sticker.
Mommy took me to my cub scout den meeting. We planted flowers in the schools' garden.
Here are some pictures of my Anna Kate: enjoy!
Anna Kate going off to school.
Loving playing in the fort she and Barbara built.
What a reaction to something on TV!
That's a mighty big book for a toddler!

Mimz arrived at my home before my bus arrived. She played with Anna Kate. Barbara was not there beause she and GGF were still at the hospital waiting and waiting to be released. They were packed and ready to leave the hosital at 7am.... Finally they were released at 3pm. It was a very long day for both of them.
My soccer practice was cancelled.
My first spelling test is scheduled for Friday. I have been learing to spell: chips, why, what, when, keep, and catch.

I took my Halloween gift to Mrs. Cat today. It was a small jar of caramel dip and a green apple. She loved it.
This morning was the awards ceremony for the first eight weeks of school. My family didn't know about it. We don't think any paper came home telling us about it. I got a perfect attendance award, and I was not tardy either.
After Mommy got off work she and I went to visit GGF in the hospital. He had a heart cath done this morning. Dr. Shahzo knew he had a heart murmer and found a 99 percent blockage in one of his arteries. The doctor put in a stent. After the proceedure was over the doctor showed Barbara a picture on his phone of the blocked artery before and after.
GGF had no pain at all during his recovery. Except for some confusion during the night and his wanting to take off the testing leads on his chest and taking out his IV tubes he did great. He was up before 7am on Oct 26th, dressed and ready to get home. But alas, that did not happen early like it was supposed to. It was 3pm before they were released and 3:40pm before they got home. Barbara stayed with him the entire time. Grandma drove with them to the hospital to make sure they found there way in the dark with no problem because they had to be there at 7:30am on Oct. 25th.
FYI: GGF was walking better the next day. He was having less shortness of breath, so we think the stent was a good thing.

Off to school with a smile. Off the bus with a smiile. No homework folder was sent home today. I wonder if that means I will have double homework tomorrow.
My report card. My name has been omitted. We try to not put my name or address on this blog.
This is the second page of my report card.
AK didn't have a nap at school today, so she was tired an grumpy. She wanted to play with my friends and me but we are way too rough so she was crying and would not be happy no matter what GGM and Barbara tried to do. Finally Barbara took AK to her home and I promised to be very good for GGM, which I was.
Barbara thinks Cole and I play way to rough. Even with Alyssa plays with us we are pretty rough. She won't let us play tackle football because she has seen us get hurt. I try to tell her all my other adults let me play tackle football. She says if they are there watching me, then I can do whatever they will allow, but when she is supervising our play, there will be no tackle football. Not fair!
I can play outside until 7pm. Except tonight that was cut short by thirty minutes. We have a tree by the mailbox and it is a great tree for swining on and climbing. Two weeks ago one of us kids broke a limb and we have been told a dozen times to stay off of that tree. Well tonight Barbara looked the window and saw Cole and me having a great time swinging on that tree's branches. Cole was sent home and I had to come inside for the night.
I was mad but after my shower I was over it and wanted to have a party with Pringles and
Dr. Pepper.
I laid on the love seat my Mommy's room and we commented on how long I am getting to be.
Barbara and I watched the Texans play while Mommy made treats for her co-workers and for Mrs. Cat. Little jars of caramel dip and a green apple. I dipped some apple in the dip. It was yummy.
I still like to pretend to be a Ninja....
... no door frame is safe from my climbing.
I was asleep about 9pm.

My dad went to San Antonio to work from this morning until Wednesday. I'll miss him.
We took this picture to show that the hole where my baby tooth was has filled in.
Alyssa and I played with each other while Anthony slept the morning away. We put costume make up our faces and Barbara took a few pictures of our fun:
We had a blast doing this. We need to remember this activity and do it again and again.
When the Minnesota Vicking football game came on TV we decided to have a party. I filled cups with ice and Dr. Pepper and Barbara found the hidden Pringles (hidden so they would be available for football parties). Mommy, Alyssa, Barbara, and I watched some of the football game for awhile then Alyssa and I had to go outside to play. We don't sit still for long.
zMy took me to church school at 4:15pm.
I played outside until 7:15pm. I quickly took a shower and watched football until bedtime. Barbara insisted on quizing me on identifing if I needed to use a question mark or period at the end of some sentences she said. I got them all right.

I had a soccer game at 9:30am. My fans included Daddy, Mommy, and Bridget. Everyone else was sick, or had other things they had to do. It was just as well that not many of my fans were there. We were outclassed. I don't even know the score.
I chewed up my first mouth gurard so Mimz bought me a heaver-duty one for my football practice and game today which was at 1:30pm at Benfer Elementary. My mom attended elementary school there and my dad played football next door on the junior high school field.
We practice under a huge beautiful oak tree. We need to take a nice picture of that tree. Practice was in the shade but the game was out in the sun. Fortunatly it is starting to cool off and there was a breeze so it was not hot like it was at my first game. Here are some pictures of me on the sideline. I played a lot, but it is hard to get pictures of me on the field since we are so far away from the sideline.
It was my turn to sit out.
I play with my mouth guard alot.
We have to drink a lot of water.
Watching while sitting on Daddy's lap.
I'm on the field, but you can't find me.
I'm starting to get the feel for how to play the game of football. This is flag football, no tackling. I played running back and attempted to catch two passes. I played center for a few played. The game only lasts an hour. One play I also intercepted a pass. I got a high five from one of my coaches. My fans were Daddy, Mimz, and Barbara. Mimz said at the first game there were three times as many people and it was much much hotter, so this was much more enjoyable.
I went home with my dad and later he brought me over to Mimz so I could play with Knox. I didn't want to leave playing with Knox but by the time we got to Andy's I was ready to see Bridget and Chris and Papa and Grandma. We watched the OU vs. Texas Tech. Kristan graduated from Texas Tech. I think Kristan and I were the only people rooting for TT. Boy that was a high scoring game,
After awhile Andy and Chris and I went outside to toss around my football. My adults are so glad I like to be active as opposed to sitting on the sofa watching TV.
Andy's to watch OU vs. Texas Tech (Kristan's alma mater)

Off to school with a smile.... it's Friday and I have a big big day planned for tomorrow.
I brought home my report card.... it was not as good as it would have been if I had not had those three bad behavior days but now I know how important it is for me to not talk too much I will try to do better.
(picture of report card posted on another day's blog)
I played with my friends after school. We played tackle football and we played way too rough. Anthony and I both got hurt at the same time. We were not hurt badly, just enough that Barbara noticed and put an end to tackle football.
We all ate Top Romen noodles and graham crackers out on the patio table.
Alyssa and I asked Barbara to take pictures of us.
Goofy kids.
Good friends.
When Mommy got home she took Alyssa and me to the school Halloween party and Cole's grandmother took Anthony and Cole. Mostly we played on the playground and played football (stuff we could do every day).
