Today's a big day:  Early Dismissal from school!

Early dismissal was what I was thinking about when I woke up.  Papa, Grandma, Mommy, and I are driving to Purcell, Oklahoma this afternoon so we can go to the OU football game on Saturday.  I hope we get there early enough that Papa and I can go swimming in the hotel pool.

I stopped at the school office to turn in my request for early dismissal at 1:30pm today.   I take my football to school on some mornings and I play with it on the playground after lunch and during afternoon recess.

At 1:30 Mrs. Yearwood told me it was time for me to go to the school office.  When I got there I saw Grandma.... and my mom!  Barbara was going to get me from school but my mom took half a day off work instead of just two hours.   That meant she was able to come pick me up and that made me happy.   We headed to The Pond to get Papa.

We had an uneventful drive, which is a good thing.  We stopped in Ardmore at McDonald's to eat.  Our hotel was in Purcell, Oklahoma.  It didn't have a swimming pool... too bad!  Mommy and I had our own room.

Thursday, August 30, 2018

Daddy bought me some doughnuts and chocolate milk for my breakfast.  I drink very little of the chocolate milk.  I guess I ought to get white milk.  I drink all of it.  We got to my home in plenty of time for me to eat, take my allergy pill, brush my teeth again (which I didn't want to do), and headed outside.
Alyssa and I were the first kids at the bus stop.  When Julian and Matthew showed up we tossed around my football for a few minutes before the bus arrived.
I enjoyed my day at school but wasn't willing to talk about it.  I was willing to talk about multiplication facts.

I have to learn my multiplication facts this year.

I had football practice and a football game at French Elementary school from 6 to almost 8pm.

I showered and got in bed.  I read one of my Survivor books.  It was 10pm before I fell asleep.

Wednesday, August 29, 2018
I need to be asleep before 9:30pm because it makes it too hard for me to wake up in the morning.  I hope I learn this soon.
I like all of my teachers and am enjoying school.  Every Wednesday I bring home a conduct report.  I'm going to try to not have any "S"s on my report this year.

I brought home a paper that my mom has to fill out so I can get a free flu shot at school.
Barbara took me to my baseball practice in the cages.  We were a little early so we played in the weight area.
Barbara enjoyed watching my catching and batting practice.  Coach Bryan threw one ball that would have hit my head, so I made a spectacular fall that everyone saw.  Coach said, "Mason don't be so dramatic!"  He was smiling and everyone laughed.  Daddy arrived for the last half of practice.

Mommy bought me some new shoes.  We can't figure out what happens to my shoes.  I guess I outgrow them, but still where are they?

I spent the night at Mimz' home.

Tuesday, August 28, 2018

I ate oatmeal and milk, took my allergy pill, and got ready for school.  I carry my football to school so I can play with it on the playground.

There are about ten kids at my bus stop and sometimes a few parents so Barbara hasn't bothered to try to take pictures.  To much going on to get us all together.  Barbara is the only adult who is always at the bus stop.  She makes sure we are all on the bus before she goes inside.

I don't have much to say about school.  I'm in too much of a hurry to go play.  I don't even want a snack after coming home from school.

Barbara had me come home at 4:50p so I could eat and she could take me to meet my mom at Stripes gas station.  Mommy took me to a private baseball lesson.  I complained again that I had told all of my adults that I didn't want to do this but I had to this time since it had been scheduled and paid for.  My dad came to watch too.  As it turns out I did enjoy it and want to do it again.  At least that is what I am saying now.

I played with Anthony for 30 minutes then I had to come home.

It was 9:30pm before I could fall asleep.

Saturday, August 25, 2018

My football team, the Dolphins, had two games today.  We lost both games by a lot of points.  Mimz was feeling bad and Grandma has her yearly bingo/swim party at her house today so they couldn't make it.  Daddy, Mommy, and Barbara were there under the hot hot sun.
I asked my mom to get me some pink shoelaces.  That will help my fans spot me on the field.  Barbara put one lace on, then snapped this picture.  She did put the pink lace in the other shoe also.
Kelso Jr had his birthday party and invited all of the baseball team.   Mommy and I were there from 6 to 9:30pm.

Friday, August 24, 2018

I forgot to write on this day.  I went to school and I had baseball practice.

Thursday, August 23, 2018

Daddy got me home in time for me to play a little football before getting on the bus and Barbara gave me my allergy pill.

I jumped off the bus and could not wait to start playing with kids.  Barbara made me come in and talk about my All About Me Bag that I will take to school in the morning.   I didn't want a snack.  I wanted to go play.   Barbara wants me to read first thing off the bus on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday since I have sports practice on those days.  We will have to work out something.

I decorated a small brown paper sack and...

..and put these things in it:  an award from i9 Football, my baseball championship ring, my mutton bustin' belt buckle, my Dream Mile award, and my Camp Longhorn Mile simmer award.  That pretty much sums up what I like to do.   lol
I made a 100 on my Bag because I did all the criteria.

Wednesday, August 22, 2018

My dad brought me home in time for me to play a little football with the boys at my bus stop.  I had already had breakfast but I needed my allergy pill so I took that.

The bus was here again about 7:25am, which is a little earlier than it was last year.

I came home from school says I have no homework all school year.  Cole told me yesterday that he has no homework all year.   I guess they are trying a new system.  Barbara said I still need to read.  I don't think I have to.   I also think my adults will say I must read every day even if the teacher doesn't say I must.

Daddy came to get me at 5:15pm for baseball batting practice which starts at 6pm.  I had cereal for an afternoon snack.  I didn't want any thing before I left for practice.  Barbara tried to get me to eat a grilled cheese sandwich or peanut butter and jelly sandwich or pork chops or something, but I said no.

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

I didn't want to go to school today because the only pair of shoes I had wear high tops and I can't run well in them... but I went and the day was a good one.

Anthony had a birthday while I was at camp but today is the day he got his big birthday surprise: a Fat Wheel bike. He knew it would be waiting for him when he got home from school.
Man, what a great bike!

I spent the night at Mimz' home.

Monday, August 20, 2018

I didn't want to, but I got up at 6:45am and got in the shower.  I normally take showers in the evening, but I fell asleep early.   I picked out what I wanted to wear to school, ate breakfast, and put on my school backpack.
Today was the first day of third grade and we had to take pictures.
We also took pictures at the bus stop.  Alyssa, Cole, Jay, Mason, and Julian.   Xavier was missing because he now is in middle school.  Jay is the new boy.

Some parents seeing bus off.

I took the questionnaire that my third grade teacher wanted my mom to fill out.  It was about me: my strengths, weaknesses, favorite things to do, what motivates me, etc.

The bus arrived at 7:25am, which is earlier that it came last year.

I liked school but didn't have anything to say about my day.  I just wanted to go play.
Here are the four posters I had on the first day of K, first, second, and third grades.
School calendar************
Catherine has found her thumb.  She doesn't want a pacifier.    Grandma says, "None of her children wanted a pacifier.  Christina was our bed-wetter, Andy was the crier, and Bridget was a thumb sucker."   I didn't use a pacifier either. Anna Kate liked her pacifier.  Bradley didn't use one for very long.

Sunday, August 19, 2018

I came home from Anthony's before 10am.  I ate breakfast and couldn't find anyone to play with so I came back home.

Mommy planned to go up to Papa and Grandma's to visit with Bridget and family some more and I wanted to go.

The main thing I did was go fishing with Papa.  We caught perch and we threw them back.  Papa always does.

Catherine cried a bunch.  Even I could keep her quiet.

When I came home, I played with Anthony.  I came home after playing for just a little while.  I laid down on my bed and was immediately asleep.  I had been up late last night over at Anthony's birthday party and I must have been ready for a nap.  I slept until 9 something.  I was hungry.  I had to eat some pizza before I could have what I really wanted:  cereal.

I laid down on Barbara's bed and she told me some stories about small injuries my mom, Andy, Bridget, Grandma and Barbara had when they were kids.  None of them were every seriously hurt.

When Barbara said, "Mason, enough.  You must go to sleep."  I got up and went and laid on my mom's bed.  She was already asleep.  I fell asleep there at 10 something.

My football team had it's first game at 10am.  We played the best team in the league and we lot badly.  I did mange to pull one flag from an opponent.  My fans were Mommy, Papa, Daddy, and Mimz.
Football game schedule.
I came home with Mommy to find Barbara and GGM babysitting 6-week-old Catherine.  I had to wash my hands before I could touch her and I couldn't touch her hands... I know why... because babies put their hands in their mouths.   I held her for just a minute and that was enough.  Then I ran out to play.

When I came back inside, it was time for Catherine to take her bottle.  I fed her her entire bottle and it was easy.  She even burped well.   I ran back outside to play.

About 3pm I went over to Anthony's because today was his birthday party.  We went to a trampoline place.  When we got home, I came rushing in, saying, "yes, I had lots of fun.  I"m here to get my pillow and blanket."  Barbara asked if we were all ready to go to bed.  Ha-ha.  It was only 6pm!  I was only in my house for two minutes tops.  We were having a sleep-over at Anthony's.

Mommy, and her parents and her siblings were having a get-to-gather at Andy's and to celebrate Anna Kate's fourth birthday.  Kristan's family was there also.

Friday, August 17, 2018

It was almost 10am before I woke up.  Barbara has been wanting me to get on a school schedule but it's not happening.

I did read, only because I had to before I could go play.  I played with my neighbor friends all afternoon.

Daddy came to pick me up about 5pm to take me to my baseball practice that started at 6pm.  Mommy went to part of my practice.

I spend the night with Daddy.

*******Most of the things we have thought of about my camp experience are now on the blog.  It is not perfect, (not much is perfect on this blog but it is better than nothing at all).  My camp story is spread out over many days starting around July 28th and ending around August 14th.  The plan is to gather it all up and have one story on one day.  That may take awhile, so now would be a good time to scan back over it to see all of the pictures of me at camp.*****************

It was around 10pm when I went to sleep but I still got up early to see my dad before he went to work.  I asked for eggs for breakfast and then I had a bowl of Fiber One cereal.

I played inside this morning.  Both Mimz and I were tired from our day at Splash Town yesterday.  We met Barbara at Sprouts at 12:30pm.   I was all cleaned up and dressed nicely for Meet The Teacher Day!
This was my invitation to Meet the Teacher.  Barbara guesses she must be way behind the times because she doesn't think OMG is appropriate to put on a school sponsored paper.  And she also thinks U R invited 2 is not using proper English.
Right before it was time for us to leave I was in a bad mood.  These are the school supplies I carried to school to leave on my desk.
Mommy got home around 1:15pm to take me to meet my teacher.
I'm very excited to see who my teacher will be and see some of the children that will be in my class.
My main teacher is Ms. Yearwood.  She wore a bright pink shirt and has blonde hair.  She is probably 40 something.  James, the smart boy, from my cub scout troop is in my class.
My second teacher is Mrs. _________

Played with Cole and went over to his new house which is near HEB.
I told my mom that I did write to her while I was at CLH but it was not delivered to my home.  Well, finally, about a week after I had been home from camp, it was delivered.  The post office said they were sorry for the delay in delivery.

I spent the evening in my mom's room.  It was 10:15pm when I finally fell asleep.

Wednesday, August 15, 2018

Mimz and I went to Splash Town one last time this season and we had a great time.  We ran into Hudson and Harper and their mom Lacey.  I really enjoyed hanging out with them.

Hudson is 13 and Harper is 11.  I wonder if I will grow that much over the next two and four years.  Mimz says they are really sweet boys.  Both boys are high than select baseball players but Harper is exceptional.

Hudson and I went down this big big slide.  It was my first time on it.  So that now means that I have been on every slide or attraction at Splash Town.

Football practice at 6pm

Tuesday, August 14, 2018

I woke up at 9am.  I'm going to have to get up at 7am for school soon... I guess that means I need to go to bed earlier for the next several days so I will be ready to start third grade well rested.

We only had one package of chocolate chip oatmeal, so I also had a package of apple cinnamon and milk and some bacon.

I read my Titanic book.  I've read it several time and I always have more questions to ask about the subject.

I played with Julian, Xavier, and Cole from noon til almost 3pm.  We moved from house to house, inside and outside.  We really were sort of bored... guess it is time for school to start.

Barbara and I met Mimz at Sprouts so I could go to Mimz' home and visit with her and my dad.  Knox and I played hard the rest of the afternoon.

I've been humming Happy Birthday twice while I brush my teeth, like we did at camp.   I was in the shower at 8:15pm and I demonstrated for Mimz how at camp they taught us to put on our underwear while wrapped in a towel after our shower.  At camp while in our cabin, we took off all of our clothes except our underwear, wrapped a towel around our body, and tucked it in itself, then  took off our underwear.  We would walk to the shower.  After our shower we dried while still behind our curtain, then wrapped the towel around us, walked to our cabin, then put on our underwear before removing our towel.  Understand?

I was pretty tired and was in bed at 9pm.  I need to start doing that every day.

More about Camp Longhorn

Each child got to be leader for a day.  I was leader on day 11 because we use the American system for choosing most things.  That is alphabetical order and my last name starts with W.   That made me last in our group of 11 boys.

When it was my cabin's turn to perform at our nightly campfire we put on a skit called "The Invisible Bench."

Our counselors were ready to hand out "merit chips" when they saw us do something helpful, kind, or anything good.  We wore a lanyard around our necks and added merit chips to it each day.  At the end of the day we turned in the merits chips and that number was added to our total of merits.  I have more than 60 merits that I have not spent at the merit store.  I might save them like Morgan did to buy something BIG after going to camp for several years.  I need to ask Morgan what she bought with her merits and how many she had after saving them for about ten years.  Mimz will keep my merit card in a save place so I can take it back to camp next year.

I will be in the Roadrunner cabin next year.

We were not to use the word "sucks."  We would get a demerit if we did.  I didn't get any demerits the entire time at camp.

We went fishing and I caught a trout, a perch, and a bass.

I took five books and magazines and I read them during our afternoon "chill time."

Mommy, Barbara, Daddy, and Mimz all sent me emails over the Camps closed website.  I sent them a couple of postcards but the one I sent to my mom didn't get delivered to my home.

Mommy and Mimz sent me a couple of treats from the Merit Store a couple of times during my two weeks at camp.  It was fun getting surprises.  Next year I hope to get a couple of packages in the mail.  They have to be in envelopes, not boxes and they can't be food, or candy, or gum.

Mimz has been to camp many times to pick up Morgan, but this was the first time Daddy, Mommy, or Barbara had been there.  I hope Grandma and Papa can come see Camp Longhorn on the last day of camp next year.

Monday, August 13, 2018

I woke up at 8am, just as my mom was driving away to work.  Barbara fixed me two packages of oatmeal.  I ate and then went back to bed with her iPhone.

I stayed on her bed watching the iPhone and answering her questions about Camp until 10:30am.  Then I was off to play with Julian and Xavier.  We played some at their house and some at my house, and some outside.  I played with those two boys almost all day.  We had a couple of breaks to "chill" for a bit.

My chore for the day was to put clean sheets on my bed.   I didn't read.  Barbara wants me to, but I'm not willing.  I think tomorrow I will have to read before I am allowed to play.

My first football practice with the Dolphins was at 6pm at French Elementary school.   Mommy got home in time to take me.
I wore my new football cleats and they felt good. I have a new mouth guard.  I was also given the flag I am to wear and I need to remember to bring that to each practice.

***********************************
I may write things about Camp Longhorn for the next several days as I think of things.

More about Camp Longhorn:
The bus drive to Camp took five hours and it was long.  We could stand up and walk around and meet each other.  There was only one boy on my bus who was in my cabin.  We stopped to get fried chicken and ate our lunch on the bus. They had candy for us to eat.  There was no singing or leader led games or such.

We were not allowed to bring any food, candy, or gum to camp.

At camp Mark, the camp director (who lives in a house on the grounds with his family) announced that these are the counselors for Rattlesnake Down and I went up to them and we followed them to our cabin.   I picked out the upper bunk I wanted.

We had not made our beds before the announcement came that we were going to move to Camp C3 because there was a fire nearby.   We each took our laundry bag which had our bedding and swim suit in it and a change of clothes.   It was not scary.  At Camp C3 my cabin-mates were assigned to the Minnow cabin and we had bunk beds to sleep on.  It was just like our camp.  We stayed there two days and we did everything we would have done at our camp.

Every morning I went to the Pit Stop to get my allergy pill.

Since most of us had never had communal showers before, the counselors told us how to dry off inside our shower, then wrap the towel around us, and tuck it in itself.  Then we could put on underwear, then we could take off the towel giving us some privacy.   (Barbara noticed that I had not used any of the shampoo I took.  She questioned me about that.  I used other guy's shampoo.)

We brushed our teeth outside at a trough with water taps in a row.  We hummed Happy Birthday twice while brushing our teeth.  That is how long we should brush.

There was a soap dispenser for us to use to wash our hands, but no towels to dry our hands.  We were outside and they just air dried.

We slept in our underwear, not bothering with sleep shorts.  We did not have electricity in our cabin, so no air conditioning.  Most of the campers brought battery powered fans.  I had two.  My big one (about a square foot) fell off my upper bunk and it did not break.  The cabins are all big screened walls.

For breakfast I always had cereal except on Saturday when we had bacon and eggs.  The bacon was good.  The only food I didn't like was the fried chicken because I couldn't cut it with a knife.  My favorite dessert was the brownie.

We wore our swimsuits all day every day.  I wore the same bathing suit every day.  I forgot I had others in my trunk.  Before dinner we changed into shorts and shirts.  I wore five of the eight outfits I took.  We had a campfire every evening.  We sang songs, and each cabin performed sometime during these two weeks.   They did our laundry once half way through camp.  I did not change my bed sheets.

My favorite thing at camp was kayaking.  There was only one boy per kayak.  It was cool.
Now I know how to play pickleball.  Grandma and Papa love to play pickleball.  Grandma plays several times a week.  There was a tether-ball pole outside our cabin.  I was good at that.  Actually I'm good at everything.

We brought home a "certificate" showing all of the activities that we excelled at.  Each year more activities are added that are age appropriate.
We had an in-camp swim meet.  I won three ribbons, first, second, and third place in different events.  I lost my blue ribbon.   Of course, it was for breaststroke.  I was a good five seconds ahead of the next boy in my age group.

I swam a mile  in 42 minutes and 49 seconds.  I am listed as an advanced swimmer, not a beginner.

I didn't have a best friend at camp.  I liked them all about the same.  My favorite counselor was Avery.

After the campfire, we came back to camp and the counselors told us stories.  It was easy to fall asleep.  I was asleep before they finished their story most nights.

Sunday, August 12, 2018

I spent the night at Anthony's and we slept in.  We played nicely and after lunch we went outside to play with Jay and Mathew (both in fifth grade).  Cullin came around but we don't play well with him.  He really picks on me.  This is the third time I have had Barbara come outside to supervisor our play to keep Cullin from bullying me.  The kids all agree that Cullin picks on me, probably because I am the youngest.  We played baseball, rode our bikes, and played Nerf guns.  At one point we all decided to go home, except Cullin.  He wanted someone to stay outside.  I told him it was "chill time."

I had spaghetti and then Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal for dinner.  I missed that cereal while I was at camp.  As soon as I finished eating, I took a shower.  I said, "Oh, that sure feels nice."   I used a new shampoo and it smelled nice.  I was in bed and fast asleep by 9:30pm.

Saturday, August 11, 2018

Today my family came to Camp Longhorn to get me after my spending two weeks at camp.
 Google satellite map of CLH.

There were five long lines of cars waiting at the gate to enter the camp at 8:30am.  I think Mommy, Daddy, and Mimz were all in line three.
Each car was given a large map of the camp.  My cabin is number 65.

V-Day  (Visitor's Day) schedule.
As great as camping has been, all of the boys in my cabin were ready to see their families.  Last night we stuffed most of our things in our trunks and moved them outside.  So there was not much packing to be done.  This morning we put a final few things in our laundry bags.  I made a couple of mistakes in this process, like I put my pillow in my laundry bag and my damp, smelly dirty clothes in my trunk.  But I will learn and get better at taking care of myself as I grow up.

Last night we sort of pulled our mattresses off our beds and had a slumber party on the floor.

We were up early and had a quick breakfast.  All the kids waited in their cabins for their families to find there way to the kids.
When I spotted my mom walking towards my cabin, I ran and ran until I reached her and I jumped at her.  She caught me and held me for a long time...
...I wanted to cry and I did a little, but mostly I just hugged her while she told me how happy she was to have me back.  I wanted to start showing her everything, but we had to wait for Daddy and Mimz.

I didn't know Barbara was coming so I didn't make her a name tag.  I gave her a big hug also.

We started walking towards to parking lot (baseball field) and as soon as I spotted my dad and Mimz I started running.  My dad caught me when I jumped into his arms.  I didn't realize how much I missed my family.  I wasn't homesick, because we were so busy all the time.  It sure is nice to have family that loves me.
I gave Mimz a big hug also.
First thing to see is Rattlesnake Down cabin.  Down means downstairs.
My family met my junior counselors.
We had time before the 9:30am cabin meeting so we walked over to the water park for just a few minutes.
Mommy and me at a picture perfect spot in camp.
Welcome to my cabin!
I showed my family the bunk I chose.  It was an upper bunk and I told them where each of the boys slept.  There were 11 boys in my cabin.
There were three bunk beds on one end and three bunk beds on the other end and in the middle were four single cots for our four counselors.  Jeffery was our senior counselor and the other three were in-training and next year they can be senior counselors.
Jeffery introduced himself by saying this was his 19th year as a camper.  One junior counselor was in college and two were seniors in high school.

Jeffery explained to our families that on our first day in camp, when the sheriff said we should evacuate the camp because of a fire near by, we did an excellent job of following his orders.  In 45 minutes all 477 campers and all 100 councilors and staff  had boarded buses that the near by schools donated and each bus had a volunteer driver.  We went to Camp C3 and stayed there two nights.  Each person had a bunk with a mattress.  We all brought a pillow, swim suit, and change of clothes.  It was a major challenge for the camp and we were passed with flying colors.

We had a couple of little ceremonies during this cabin meeting.  We were given an envelope with pictures and awards in it.  There was also a list of the boys and their addresses.
This was a neat place to sit and watch everything.
We made a plaque that will be attached to the ceiling of the cabin.  Of course my name was last... alphabetical order.
Here are some plaques from previous years.
At the end of camp, I had these 48 merits plus about 15 more on another paper.
Some toys I earned and my lanyard.  The safety pen is what held our merits we earned that day.
I earned these awards.... plus a blue ribbon (that I misplaced).  The blue ribbon was first place for the breaststroke for boys my age.  I was at least five seconds ahead of the second place guy.
Camp activities at which I excelled are circled.  My mile swim took me just under 43 minutes.
This calendar of events was posted on the side of the Library.  The Library is the restroom/shower room.
The blue building is the Library and it was nearby my cabin.
This is Old Faithful, our drinking fountain.  We would fill our water bottles here.
I showed my dad my trunk.  It was missing the wheels and there were not to be found.  Hopefully we can order some more.  Mommy and Daddy carried it to Mommy's car....it was heavy according to my mom.
Our first water activity to show our families was The Blob.  It's a big long blown up tube that we jumped onto and boy was that fun.  We climbed up the Tower above The Blob and waited our turn to jump.  One counselor kept the Blog and the boys wet with a water hose.  Part of the object was to cause the other boys to fall off of it.  We learned tricks to help us stay on.  We all had to wear bananas around our waists.
The Blob rules.

I'm the kid on the far right, the one that does a silly dance.

Another counselor stood on the side and kept track of how many boys were in the water  If one boy was in the water, he held up one finger real high.  If five were in the water, he held up five fingers.  He was constantly counting to eleven.  They were very serious about keeping track of everyone near water.    I think there were four Blobs all totaled.
My footprint.   lol
When we finished performing on the Blob, we had to put our banana life vests away.
Our next activity was at the three very long slides that dumped us into the water.  We were swimming in the lagoon. There are lots of other swimming activities but my cabin only had time to show our families these two.

We found the person we needed to pay for my allergy prescription that they had to go pick up.
The camp has two dogs.  This one is named ____________.

The last block of time was a free time for us to do anything we wanted to do.  I wanted to go to the Merit store but it was jam packed.  I sort of wanted to do like Morgan did and save my merits to buy something big when I have more merits.  I have more than 60 merits now.    And I was ready to head home.  I remembered how long the drive was coming up here and wanted to get our trip started.

I have not had access to an iPad or iPhone for two weeks.  It wasn't bad since we had so much to do.  But as soon as we were off the campground, I wanted to see the pictures that had been taken at camp and play games or look at videos.

We had one bit of excitement.  The low tire pressure light came on in Mommy's car.  About a mile down the road we pulled into the first gas station and Mommy checked.   We had a very low right rear tire.  Barbara has AAA so they were called and within an hour the big spare tire had been put on and we were back on the road.   A funny thing: Mommy and Barbara were both willing to open car doors and wait but I wanted Mommy to keep the car on so it would be cool, this was after spending two weeks with no air conditioning.  You would think I would be used to the heat.  It really was not a hot day, much cooler than it has been in Texas this past couple of weeks.  The rest of the trip was uneventful. Mommy and Barbara asked me lots of questions about my camp.  Mostly I was willing to answer.   It was almost 4pm when we got home and of course I wanted to go play with my friends.

I played all evening with Anthony.  I wanted him to spend the night at my house.  Mommy would have been okay with it, but Barbara said no, she was too tired to have that much noise tonight.  I ended up spending the night at Anthony's.

*******I'll write more about camp activities on Monday.
