Tuesday I was a pill while Barbara was trying to get me off to school.  Today was 180 degrees the other way.  I wanted to pick out my clothes, help with my lunch, and went down the list of things we had to do to get ready for school, including take the recycle container to the curb and stop by Mimz' home before school to give her my boots.  I will need them after school and Mimz is picking me up.

I was not agreeable when we got to Mimz home because I wanted to get out of the car and take my boots inside.  There was not enough time for that, so I was not happy.  I sure don't like not getting my way.  One day I will learn to be logical, but for now I am just being a three-year-old child.

I had a great day at school.  Mimz gave me the choice of going to the park or going home.  I chose to go home and ride my scooter.  I ate some Pringles while I was riding.

Mimz sat in the den listening to me talk and play by myself.  What I was saying made her smile.

A car was driving down our street.  Mimz said it was going too fast.  I said, "We don't go too fast, we just go medium."

While we were outside running, I asked to put on my tennis shoes.  A first time for that!  I always choose boots over tennis shoes.  And I did not go back to boots the rest of the day.

Mimz fixed taco soup for our dinner.  Everyone is impressed with the variety of foods I will eat, which is most everything.  When I was a baby, I didn't like Jell-0 because of the texture.  I ought to try it again...now that I am older.  Cousin Lacy wishes her boys would eat vegetables other than green beans.

I sure wanted to go to sleep around 6pm, but Mimz made me go back outside to play and wait for Daddy.  When Daddy got home we showed him how I can climb a ladder with Mimz standing right there to make sure I did not have a misstep.

After Daddy got me ready for bed, I crawled onto Mimz lap and before Mimz realized it I was out like a light.   That was right before 8pm.

I am learning how to use the LeapPad learning system that Great Aunt Lisa sent to me.  It belonged to Elizabeth.  I know it is "pink" but that does not bother me.  I started with the Nursery Rhyme book since I know most of them.  I know how to run it all by myself and did not like having any help unless I asked for it.

A big part of the day was spent playing fireman.  Here I am sitting up high driving a big ladder fire engine.  Monk Monk was my fire dog.
I was in my closet and a happened upon this box.  I knew it had to do with fireman because of the picture.   Barbara explained to me that, in case of fire,  we have one of these in each bedroom and if we had to we could use it to go out the window and climb down we would.  We opened the box and saw that it just lifts out ready to be used.  Boy, I sure wanted to practice using it.
It got warm late in the afternoon, so I changed into this colorful shirt.
I figured out how to get into my blue piggie bank all by myself.
I played with these coins for a long time, close to thirty minutes...
Barbara told me about pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters.  She also explained why I was not to put coins in my mouth.  I mainly was interesting in moving them from one container to another and dumping them to start over.
 Very heavy cup of coins!
We played bowling.  I was pretty good.  Barbara finally got me to lead with my left foot when I was throwing.
We decided we need a ball boy to help reset the pins.  lol

I got sleepy early, around 7pm.  Barbara had me playing marching band, racing, and catch to keep me awake.  I fell asleep at 8:05pm and did not wake up until after 7am.

I just remembered this weekend I played with Luke's remote control car and boy did I have fun.  We had two of them in our garage not too long ago.  Andy might have taken them.  I need to see if we can find them and if I could have them to play with.  If not, Mommy and I need to go shopping.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I woke up not wanting to go to school so it was not easy for Barbara to convince me to get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, and get in the car.  She had to tell me a story about a firefighter named Stacy the entire time she was coaxing me to keep making progress towards the door... to keep my mind off the fact that I was going to school.  Once I was in the car I was fine and I did have a good time at school.

My teacher said she thought I needed more food for lunch, so instead of taking half a lunchable, I took the entire package.  I ate it all except for three crackers.  I did not eat my dry cereal snack at school, but I did eat it on the drive home.

I watched a You Tube video with a firefighter named Stacy in it and for the past two days all I want is for Barbara to tell me stories about her.  Finally Barbara said NO MORE Stacy stories.  Once Mimz had to do the same thing with stories about a firefighter named Penny.  I never tire of hearing about firefighters.  Both Mimz and Barbara must have short attention spans.

Barbara has been saying I am too heavy for her to lift or carry, so we decided we ought to weigh me:  35.7 pounds! That was with me wearing a shirt, big boy underwear, and one sock.  Are you wondering why one sock?    I was pretending that I had hurt my leg and foot.  While Barbara was checking them out she took off a sock and I failed to notice that she did not put it back on me.

I was asleep before 8:30pm.  I have been going to bed that early for at least two weeks.  Everyone loves my early bedtime, not so they can stay up late watching TV or reading, but so they can go to bed too.

Monday, January 28, 2013

Rachel spent the night with us.  We had pancakes and bacon for breakfast.  Mimz and Rachel talked about going shopping but they decided they would stay home to have more time to visit while playing with me.
Mimz and Barbara met around 1:30pm at the school to transfer me from one loving grandma to one loving great aunt.

It was a routine afternoon with Barbara and routine evening with Mommy.  I can't remember anything interesting about the day.

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Daddy and I spent most of the day over at Mommy's.  We just played with my toys and rough housed.

Andy was in town to go to a funeral and for business and he stopped over here to see Mommy and me.  I enjoyed him tossing me up in the air and rough housing with me.

Mimz fixed Sunday dinner for Daddy, me, and her friend Rachel.  Her husband and Pops were best friends since there were in middle school.  That's a long long time.  Daddy told me about her before we got to Mimz home and I was not shy around her.  Rachel was impressed with everything I did but especially at how well I ate vegetables.

I got so sleep I almost couldn't tell Daddy bye.  I spent the night with Mimz since Daddy had to go to work early.

Saturday, January 26, 2013

Mimz and Daddy took me to the zoo.  We saw lots of animals but the ones I liked the best were the snakes.  Who knows why they facinated me but on this day they did.  I asked Mimz to tell me a story about snakes.  She said she would after we got in the car.  She was glad I forgot to ask again for that story.
There were a lot of children there and all of us were excited to be there.
Of course, I found the fireman's pole!

Friday, January 25, 2013

At 6:30am I was awake and ready to eat.  Mimz and I played outside for awhile then we cam inside to watch a fireman DVD.  I like to sit on Mimz lap while we do this and because I was awake so early I was still a bit sleepy and it didn't take long before I fell asleep.
Mimz just sat there holding me.  She said she could not think of a better thing to do with her time.

We went to a FFA auction.
 Hi, Big Old Bull!
What a great way to spend a Friday evening.
Here I am goofing off with Harper and Hunter.
Count the cell phones on the table... sign of the times!

Thursday, January 24, 2013

I was looking forward to today because Barbara was going to take me to school and Mimz was going to pick me up after school and we would then go to the park. We took my fireman's gear and my two pairs of cowboy boots over to Mimz before going to school so they would be available to me for the weekend with Daddy and Mimz.

Of course, I love the fireman's pole.
I know to wrap my two arms and one leg around the pole and be ready to land on my other leg.
Mimz brought some bread so we could feed the ducks.
I played with and talked to other children at the park.  Mimz said she loves to hear me laugh with the other children.
Video of me climbing up a rock wall in the park.
Part one of video of me climbing down a rock wall in the park.  Video is long enough that it had to be in two parts.
Part two of video of me climbing down a rock wall in the park.
I  put out a truck fire!

Daddy came over after work.  Mimz fixed us dinner.  Daddy and I played hard and he gave me a bath.  I asked to go to bed around 8:15 and was sound asleep by 8:30.

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

It was very foggy outside this morning.   You can barely see the trees behind our backyard.
I kept dancing and every picture Barbara took was a bit blurry.  I have some pretty good dance moves.

Barbara caught my cold, so she made a conscience effort to keep her germs way from me.  We played a little more quietly than we normally do.  I kept asking for Barbara to sound the fire alarms louder but she said her voice was tired so I had to make do with what she gave me.

After lunch Barbara told me she had to take a nap, so I was to sit on her bed and watch tv or read my books.  Of course, I kept talking to her.  Finally I said, "I'll just lay down too."  Soon she was asleep and I fell asleep too.  We don't know how long we slept.  She was too tired to think about timing our nap.

Barbara went to bed early and Mommy took care of me.
These balls were a good purchase.  We play with them almost every day...
...coming up with new ways to play with them.
We rough housed and used up some of my pent-up energy.  I went to bed around 8:30.  Everyone is so glad I am going to bed early these days.

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

I woke up happy and hungry.  After pancakes, I picked out my clothes for school.  Then only thing that had to change when we were ready to leave was my boots had to come off and new sneakers were put on my feet.

I told Barbara Olivia was throwing rocks at school and she had to go to Time Out because she did not stopped when she was warned.   No one was hit by the rocks.

I am still amazed when I see Christmas lights on peoples homes.  Don't they know it is way past time to get those decorations put away???

Barbara and I had to stop at Wells Fargo Bank to finish the process of getting her a Texas checking account.  This morning she got her Texas drivers license.  She has new Texas plates on her car.  I guess that makes her officially a Texan.

We played construction site, ball, and Save Monk Monk from falling off the Cliff this afternoon. Barbara is very tired of the latter.

For the past week I have volunteered to go to bed around 8pm or very soon after that.  I often fall asleep while listening to my bedtime story.

Monday, January 21, 2013

We have a wardrobe upstairs that holds all of our non-Christmas decorations.  All of the boxes were downstairs during Project Upstairs.  Today I was a BIG help to Barbara while she was trying to put them away.
Most of the boxes were light enough for me to carry down the hall.
I opened almost every box and wanted to examine everything.
I"m glad I was so curious.  In one of the boxes, I found a beat up old cowboy hat....
... that fits me perfectly.

Other than the hour we spent loading that wardrobe, we played ALL day.  I came up with a game called Rescue Monk Monk from the edge of the cliff.   When Monk Monk would fall over the edge of the cliff (sofa) Barbara would hold onto him and call the fire department.  I would put on my gear and run as fast as I could to the rescue.  Barbara thinks we played this game at least 50 times and she doesn't want to play it any more.  Maybe she will change her mind in a couple of days.

We played "construction site."  Barbara filled a digger with dirt (blocks) and I would back my dump truck up so we could fill it and then I would drive the load off and empty my truck.  Then I would come back for more.  This is another one of those games that I never tire of, but Barbara's attention span is only about 30 minutes.

The best game we played was called "Question."  Barbara describes something and I try to guess what it is.   She might say, "this is something that Mason likes to ride fast around Mimz driveway."   Or "I see something that is red, white, and blue."   Or "This is what we say when someone does something nice for us."   We can play this game any place and we both never tire of it.

Every day we play with balls.  Little, medium, and large, it doesn't matter.  I love them all.

Sunday, January 20, 2013

First words I said today were "Do I go to school today?"  Then "I'm ready to eat."  We had scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, and chocolate milk in a cup.  I can drink out of a cup easily, but I still like to have sippie cups to drink a full cup of milk or juice.

I slept well, no problems with my nose.  My "cold" may be over.  We shall see.

Mommy took me to the big park where I enjoyed everything.  Here I am going down the fireman's pole, a favorite activity of mine.
I like to climb the rock walls too.
Here I am sitting around in my underwear eating a snack and using the iPad.  Oh, what a life!

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Daddy is hunting for dove this weekend.  I wonder if he will bring some home for us to eat??
I had been awake for ten minutes when this picture was taken. I was already climbing on my fireman's pole.  I wanted to wear the same new clothes I wore yesterday.  I did agree on clean underwear and socks.  I want to be stylish but not stinky.

Fighting a fire bright and early this morning.
I wanted pancakes again!  Barbara is wondering if she ought to run of pancakes for a few days so I will eat something else.
Mommy gave me a bath and washed my hair and dressed me in nice clothes.  Then she and I went shopping for a new pair of sneakers.  We found a pair size 9 1/2.  My old shoes were size 9.  I saw a  pair of boots that I really really wanted.  Because Mommy had a coupon for $10 off that she could not use on just the sneakers she bought them for me.  I was in heaven!  Then we met Grandma at a Valentine's Day photo shoot where I got my picture taken.

It warmed up enough for Mommy and me to play ball in the backyard.  Then I helped vacuum and mop the downstairs floor.  Then it was Barbara's turn to play with me.
Here I am testing my drill....
...and doing some real work.  Barbara played workman with me and we used my tools to fix Mommy's elliptical.
This rug was a Christmas gift from Grammie and Bubba.  They know I like sock monkeys. It makes a soft place to read my books under the window.
A bribe that worked to get me to sit on the potty was some Pringles.  I still insist on wearing a diaper and standing to poop.  I was not successful this time, but I will keep trying and soon I will wonder why I was so opposed to sitting down to poop.

I said I was tired so I got on Barbara's bed and watched Imagination Movers.  When the show was over, I was not tired any more and I was ready for Mommy to play with me.  We were fireman and had lots of alarms to answer.  Then we watched Calliou, a show I have not watched for a long time.

My nose has a problem.  It runs and makes my upper lip sore.  I said, "I am sick, but I am happy."

I wanted pancakes for breakfast.  I have almost eaten an entire package of frozen pancakes.  I asked that frozen pancakes be added to the grocery list.

Barbara asked Mimz to babysit while she when to the DMV to stand in line to get her Texas car tag.  Surprisingly she was only in line for 20 minutes.
I play fireman from dawn to dusk and even later!
Barbara found Mimz and me riding my scooter and Pops scooter.  She had heard I was a fast rider but had not seen it for herself.  She was impressed.
I can still use my baby swing.  Mimz hangs it in the garage door opening and gives me a big push and we keep doing that for as long as I want.

Mimz, Barbara, and I went to McDonald's and ate in the restaurant, which makes me happy. I had on my new black fireman's jacket and helmet.  People notice me and that makes them smile.  I ate most of my lunch and part of Mimz.  The only thing I had to take home were my french fries and my Happy Meal toy.

Back home we let Maggie out and played outside for a short time, then we upstairs, got in Barbara's bed and read two new books (new from GGF Bates).  Then I needed to run, so we played chase and then threw balls.  We worked my Jake puzzle again.  We kept watching for Luke to come outside but he didn't.

I took a nap from 4 to 6.  Mimz gave us some pork chops with rice and we had them for dinner. Barbara loves not having to fix us dinner. Thank you, Mimz.  Mimz also gave us some Saline solution to spray into my nose. It does help open up my nose.

I was never going to agree to take some medicine even though I was told it would make me feel better, so while I had my mouth open in protest,  medicine was squirted into my mouth and I swallowed.   Last night I cried every time I coughed or sneezed leading us to think I had a sore throat, but today I didn't do that.  My only symptom is my runny nose.  I am lucky, it could be worse.

I fell asleep at 9 and slept quietly until 2am.  I played or watched television on the sofa bundled in blankets for a couple of hours.  Then I slept quietly the rest of the night.

****We did figure out how to add pictures to my blog, but we have not been able to figure out how to add videos since the problem developed with Barbara's computer.*****

I woke up at 7:45 ready to put out fires.
I was very good for Mimz this morning.  I was willing to put on my school shoes instead of wanting to wear my boots in the car and changing when we got to school.  I went into school happy and ready to play with my friends.

Mimz knows how much I like cupcakes so she bought me one because I was so good about going to school this morning.
Here I am trying to drink out of the bathtub faucet.
Hey, look how long I am!

I didn't journal this afternoon or evening on the day... and I can't recall what I did.  I must learn to write about my day each and every day.

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

First thing I said this morning was "I want some pancakes" and that is what I got.  Barbara discovered there are frozen pancakes in the grocery store that she can quickly microwave for me.  The only problem is now I know we have pancakes and I want them more often than a balanced diet would allow.
Here I have just started working my Pirate Jake puzzle...
...half way finished....
...all done.  Barbara did help, but I did not quit until it was all put together.

I have a cardboard tube that I use for a fire hose and it was starting to come apart so we mended it with packing tape.  I sure like helping with that kind of task.
It warmed up outside, so we went out to kick some balls around.
Here I am watching my shadow.

Yesterday I was in Time Out twice, so this morning we talked about how this was going to be a good day and I was going to try my best to listen and do what the adults ask me to do because I don't like being in Time Out.  Mimz says I am the classic strong willed child.

I said I was tired so Barbara and I laid down while she told me a couple of stories about Firefighter Penny.   I was not asleep when Mimz called to say she was ready to met at the school so she could take me to her home so I could spend time with Daddy tonight.  I fell asleep while Mimz was driving me to her home.

A friend of Mimz gave her this mask for me to use as my fireman's mask instead of my pair of red glasses.
