We are celebrating Dr. Seuss this week.

Today we were to wear a striped shirt, so I did.  I was the only child at my bus stop who wore stripes.

When I jumped off the bus, Barbara asked me if many children wore stripes to school.  I said, "No, and neither did my teacher."  She was disappointed that more kids don't participate when they try to make school fun.

I counted to ten in Japanese while I ate a bowl of cereal, then I ran off to play at Austin's.

GGM plays a game called Bookworm on the computer.  Her score now is over half a BILLION!  GGM, GGF, and Barbara have played this game for at least ten years.  They have reached that number twice before.  When GGM gets into trouble now, she calls Barbara so they can work together to get out of trouble.  They don't want to lose the game when the score is that high.

Daddy came over and shared cheese pizza with Mommy, GGM, Barbara and me.  I ate one piece of pizza and most of the BBQ wings.  I went home with Daddy and will do my homework with him.

When I was saying my God Blesses after the Our Father I said, "God bless Mommy, Daddy, my family, and my friends.  And bless all my lawyers."  Mimz said, "what lawyers, I don't understand."  I said, "You know, all the adults that take care of me."  Mimz said, "Oh you mean "elders."  I laughed and said, "Yes, my elders."

At midnight I was the first boy to go to sleep.  They pranked me since I was asleep.

They took markers and drew on my back and on my face.  I didn't know until in the morning.   Another boy and I were awake long before any of the others.   We had donuts to eat.

Barbara picked me up at 9:55am.  I wanted to go back but she would not let me go.  She said Austin's parents must be ready for peace and quite.  Julian and Xavier had to go to church.  Alyssa family was till asleep at 10:30!  Barbara said she would play with me but I wanted to play with kids.

I had nothing to do, so I laid down on the sofa and fell asleep.  I slept for at least two hours.
Finally Alyssa was awake and I played with her for about 30 minutes, then I had to get ready for church.

Barbara and GGM worked on my face, trying to get the marker off with rubbing alcohol.  I had to hold my breath while they rubbed.  They got 95 percent of it off.

Barbara and I stopped at McDonald's to use a coupon he had.  It was a Christmas gift to Barbara from Anna Kate and Bradley.  We ate in the car because it was raining and we didn't want to get out in the rain. 

We arrived at church 15 minutes early, so I went to play on the playground.  It was really wet and I got a little wet, but not too much.

Barbara waited in the car during my hour and  15 minute class.  She enjoyed listening to the rain... lots and lots of rain.

We talked about Lent and what I could do for Lent.  Today at my Faith Formation class we did an assessment to see what we learned something from my homework and if I knew my prayers.  I passed.

We drove home and Barbara would not let me go to Austin's to play.  She still thought Austin's parents would want this afternoon spent with just their family...  We watched an episode of the Monk TV show.  Monk became blind during the show and his sight came back during the show.  Then we watched some of the Closing ceremony of the winter Olympics.

I practiced counting to ten in Japanese.  Nine and ten are the only numbers that give me trouble.  I want to say "could-you" when it is "coo-jew."  GGF taught Barbara, Grandma,  Mommy, Bridget, and Andy to count to ten on Japanese.  They all can still do it without even hesitating.  I didn't fall asleep until a little after 9pm.  Maybe because I took a 2 hour nap this afternoon.

    

Saturday  Feb, 24, 2018
I ate eggs with hot sauce and cinnamon toast for breakfast before going to Doss Park to play in a baseball tournament with my team the Spartans.  The games started at 8:30am and 10:30am, lasting for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

My fans there were Daddy, Mimz, and Barbara.  Everybody else had previous plans, but they will try to make my next tournaments.

The first game we lost by one run.  I think the score was 3 to 4 or 4 to 5.  I had one strike out and and one walk.  I played third base almost the entire game.  I dropped one fly ball.  My coach said I dropped it because I didn't have my glove up instead of to my side.

The second game had one great thing about it:  The first batter got on base.  I was the second batter.

I made a hit over second base and into center field.  I made it to first base and the other runner scored.  The ball was overthrown when it was through to the infield.  The first base coach told me to run to second.  I did and I was put out, but I did get a hit and and RBI.

Look at the size of that guy?  They were all a head taller than my teammates. 
We scored three runs in that first inning.  Then the other teams turn to bat.  We were not able to throw many strikes so these guys walked, walked, and walked about 20 times.  We had 4 or 5 boys try to be pitcher and we didn't have much luck.  I tried to pitch and I did strike one guy out and I threw a few strikes and some balls too.  The game was over before the end of the first inning.

I went out to eat lumch with Mimz and Daddy.

Daddy brought me over to my home where I rode my dirt bike on the street.  At 4pm Daddy took me to Austin's sleepover birthday party.

My gift to Austin was a Target gift card which is one other suggestions on his invitation.

We ate pizza for dinner and had chocolate birthday cake.  We watched a war movie.  I don't remember the name of it.   There were 12 boys at the party.

It's Friday so I wore my Husky's shirt.  I ate two packages of oatmeal even though I want to eat a cinnamon roll at school.  One cinnamon roll is not enough to get me to lunch.

Daddy was here when I got home from school.  We shot hoops and then I went inside my house to eat some rice meatballs and apple pie but before I could eat, Austin rang the doorbell and I was off and running.

I got to play with Austin and friends until 5:30pm, then Daddy said play time was over.

Mimz fixed my favorite dinner carrots, lots and lots of carrots, and mac and cheese.  Yummy!

My foot locker for camp arrived today.  It is a heavy duty locker.  It is what Uncle Scott got for Morgan and hers lasted all through her camping and she will probably take it to college at the University of Alabama.

Barbara and GGM babysat Anna Kate and Bradley today.  AK loves to play in my room.  She made a big mess, but that was okay.  It didn't take more than three minutes to put everything away.

Mimz and I thought we were running late but we got to my home in plenty of time.  The kids, Mrs Maribel, Mimz, and Barbara stood on the corner and talked for about ten minutes.  The bus was running late.

I jumped off the bus intending to go straight to playing.  I would have eaten a piece of apple pie if it was not still cooking in the oven but I wouldn't eat anything.  I agreed to take one quick spelling test, then I ran off to play.

I knew I had baseball practice and I agreed to quit playing and go to practice without complaint.  .... Well, it didn't happen.  When Barbara came to pick me up, I whined and cried about being the only child who had to leave playing for practice.  I said I was through with sports and I was walking home.  I was told there would be sever consequences if I didn't get into the car. ..... I got into the car and ate the chicken fried rice and the apple pie Barbara brought for me.  My attitude was good as soon as I got in the car but for a few minutes I put up a fight.  Barbara is very tired of my arguing for no good reason.

 We had batting practice inside because the field was too wet to play on.

 Barbara stayed the entire time.  When I got home Daddy came over for half an hour or so.  When he left I went to bed and was quickly asleep.
 

I insisted on wearing my baseball team game shirt to school today.  Barbara tried to tell me that I need that shirt to be clean to wear on Saturday.  I told her she could wash it.  lol

I came home telling Barbara that the teacher still says I'm being to aggressive on the playground.  We are playing tag... you have to run fast and tag the other kids quickly and sometimes that seems aggressive, but it's not really.    My weekly conduct grades were E E S+ S- and this week a S.  Last 9 weeks I had all E's.   She also said I need to stay on task better, slow down and not be in a hurry to get finished first.  She said most kids my age have this same problem.

I practiced my spelling while dancing a little jig. Of course I made a few mistakes because I was being silly.  Then I quickly ate a bowl of cereal, then I ran off to Austin's to play.

Mimz came to pick me up and take me to my baseball batting practice.   I had a great practice and I was complimented a lot on the hits I made. 

At Mimz' I took a shower and did my baseball homework.  I am to do as many sit-ups, push ups, and squates I can do in 45 seconds.  This is to be done every day.

My crazy ostrich socks were missing.  I finally remembered I took them off at school and put them in my backpack.

 Tonight was the spring open house. Mommy and Daddy both came to it.

Mommy didn't buy my framed art work.  It costs $25.  I will get the picture and Mommy can frame it for us at home.

Today is Presidents Day.  Mommy and I both are off work and school today.  Yea!
I woke up at 8:15am.   I played with Barbara until I could go see if any of my friends could play.  We watched the Olympics.

I played Texas Stride.  I am in third place for the entire second grade.  We also went outside and shot some hoops.  It was 10:30am before Alyssa was awake.

I played with my friends from 10:30am until 7:30pm non-stop.  Xavier and Julian and their mother took us to Burroughs Park to run and play.  We climbed trees.   I've climbed the trees there twice before.   Oh, what fun.

Mommy and I worked on my church chapters.  We did the on-line part which had to be turned in today.

My dad came over for a little while.  I must have worn my self out playing all day because I was asleep by 8:30pm.   

I walked into Mimz' den and told her I woke up at 9:09am and that I couldn't find Monk Monk.  She helped me find him.

I woke up with a stuffy nose and a bad cough this morning.  I had stuffy nose yesterday morning also.  Mimz thinks it will clear up after a good hot shower and taking some Mucinex.   So long as I don't get the flu we can handle cold symptoms.   Lots of boys on my baseball team have been sick.  This crazy weather could be part of the cause of all of this sickness during this flu/cold season.

I need to work the last two chapters in my Faith Formation bag today because tomorrow is the final day to turn in my information.  This is all getting me ready for my first Communion which is in April.


There is no Faith Formation class today because of  the President's Day holiday.  When Mimz told me I did not have class this afternoon, my response was "I can play all day!"  Mimz reminded me I had two last chapters that must be done today.

Daddy and I went to my home so I could play with my friends and so I could see the bird house Mommy is making for a contest.  Andy built the actual bird house, 12 " by 24."  Mommy is painting and decorating it.  It is to be a variation of Woodstock's birdhouse.   I helped paint for a few minutes then I was ready to quit.

Xavier and Julian's mom took us to Burrough's Park to run and climb trees.  We had a great time.

I stayed up until at least 11pm.

Alyssa and I woke up early.  We headed over to my house to see that the garage sale was in progress.  There was a very light rain off and on all morning, so we couldn't put anything much out on the driveway, so the garage was crowded but we had a pretty good turn out.  The neighborhood sale was postponed to next weekend but we were all set up so we went ahead and had this pre-sale.  Andy was there to help Mommy, Barbara, and GGM. Most of the items for sale were Andy's.  They moved to a smaller house and decided to de-clutter.   My dirt bike and my toys were all in a corner of the garage with a sheet over them so no one would think they were for sale.

 When I came home from Alyssa's I had colored hair.

It washed out easily. 

I played with Alyssa all day and Xavier, Julian and other boys joined in at different times.  We rode bikes, played football, and just moved around the neighborhood having a great time.

February 16, 2018

Today was crazy sock day.  I wore the ostrich socks Mimz bought me at Disney World.  I wore some shorter black socks over them.... I don't know why.  Alyssa and I were the only ones at our bus stop that wore crazy socks.

I played from the minute I jumped off the bus until 8:30pm.  Played with Julian and Xavier, then with Alyssa at Austins.  Ate dinner at Austins with a bunch of neighbors.  Ended up spending the night with Alyssa and Anthony.  Mommy, Barbara, and GGM setting up for garage sale.

Mimz brought me to school for my early running club.  Barbara met us there with my running club shirt and with a superhero shirt for me to wear during the day.  I didn't want either one.

When I got home after school, I had to read a little and practice my spelling words.  The only word I had any trouble with was ashes. 

My teachers both gave me thank you notes for the nice gifts I gave them for Valentine's Day.


I ran off to play at Austin's.  I knew the plan was for Barbara to come get me at 5pm, for me to eat a turkey sandwich, and change into long pants and cleats. 

Austin has some red stickers on his body.   We started teasing him about them and asked if that was leprosy.  He didn't know what we were talking about.   I just learned about that disease after watching an episode of the TV show Monk.  It was too scary for me to watch.

I didn't want to go along with the plan when it came time to leave my fun time jumping on the trampoline.  I didn't want to eat a turkey sandwich or anything else.  I didn't want to go to practice.  As  we were walking out the door, I decided I wanted to eat some junk food.  Well, we didn't have anything like that that I could just grab.  There was fruit and peanut butter sandwich, but that was not what I wanted.  I went without.

We didn't get out of the neighborhood before Daddy called to say he would take me to practice.  He met us and took me to practice.  Barbara went back home.  Mommy came to my practice straight from work.  Mimz came to my practice to bring me a pair of crazy socks to wear to school tomorrow.

It was decided I would spend the night with Daddy.  He or Mimz will bring me home in the morning.
Barbara took a picture of my spelling words and sent them to Mimz so I would be sure to get in some spelling practice after baseball practice.

Happy Valentine's Day!


Mimz helped me purchase gifts for Mommy.  Mommy was surprised and happy with all the gifts: a makeup bag, note pads, water bottle, candy, all in a lovely box.  GGM and Barbara took most of the chocolate candy (yummy they said).

I took a shoe box to school to decorate and for my friends to put my Valentines in.  I took two gifts for my teachers:  a small heart shaped box of chocolate and some cute Valentine socks and a Valentine.

I'm still having problems keeping on task at school.  I think this is the first S- I have ever gotten for Conduct.

I knew when I jumped off the bus I had to do chapter 8 for my church class.  I did it happily  and then I studied my spelling words.  I only made two mistakes and I think I know how to spell those two words now:  ashes and knew.

I ran off to play at Austin's.  Barbara packed my things in her car and came to get me from Austins.  I was upset that I had to leave.  I rode my bike home and then refused to get in the car to go meet Mimz.  Mimz drove all the way to my house.  She got me to go to practice with her.   It seems I get in trouble and then I act like I'm supposed to and am a sweet well behaved boy... until the next time I have to do something I don't want to do.

Mimz bought me a heart shaped box of chocolates and she gave me a Valentine with a gift card to Dairy Queen.   What could be better!

 Today is Fat Tuesday and we were to dress up for it.

None of my bus buddies had on beads so we quickly found a few to share with them.

I did both of my homework pages and studied my spelling words as soon as I got home.

 I worked on my Valentines to give to my classmates and the Gang of Five.



in trouble

It was 36 degrees outside and I refused to wear long pants.  I would not wear a long sleeved shirt under my yellow Neon shirt.  All of the school is supposed to wear a Neon shirt.  I did agree to wear a jacket, but just barely.  We forgot to take a picture.

Almost everyone wore Neon shirts.  It makes if fun when everyone participates.   I turned in my homework that I forgot to turn in last week.

When I jumped off the bus, Mimz was at the bus stop with Barbara.  I was puzzled since her normal day to be there is on Wednesday.  She came over to bring my church bag with the chapters I must get finished by Monday.  I have five chapters to do.

Mimz helped me to one and a half chapters.  Then I ran off to play at Austin's home.  Mostly we jumped on the trampoline.  I came home at 6:15pm.

I wanted Mommy to drive to Grandma's house to get a gift that Grandma had ordered for me.  I got mad when that was not going to happen.  Papa might bring it to Mommy's work tomorrow.  I was almost to get a concequence for my bad behavior but I straightened up quickly.

I finished my chapter 7 church homework and I did my math homework.  And I reviewed my spelling words.  I watched some snowboarding on the Olympics.  I watched some videos of Michael Phelps swimming in the last summer Olympics then it was 8pm and I had to take a shower.  I started to protest but it didn't do any good.  I took my shower and had 15 minutes before it was time for lights out.

I ate breakfast with Xavier and Julian.  They fixed eggs and put hot sauce on the table without even asking if I wanted any.  They know I like my hot sauce on eggs.

I came home at 9:30am just before Grandma and Papa arrived.  They spent the morning going through stuff, getting rid of stuff in the garage.

Kristan and the kids came over.  Kristan stayed in the garage pricing while GGM and Barbara took care of Bradley.  Anna Kate played in my room with Alyssa and me.  Everyone left by 2pm.  Alyssa and I played at her house and at my house.  It was too cold to play outside for very long.

Barbara dropped me off at church and Mommy brought me home.  Mommy bought Valentines for my class and a small box of chocolates and cute Valentine socks for my teachers.

I watched some of the Women's Skiing Moguls in the Olympics.

Happy 34th Birthday Andy!

We did a lot to get ready for the garage sale.  I didn't help much but I did help a little.

Here Anna Kate and I are playing on my old castle.  Papa took the power washer to it and it is like new.   Anna Kate and Bradley came over for us to babysit them so Andy and Kristan could go out with some of their friends..  AK played in my room most of the evening.  Mommy was on Barbara's computer just next door, so she kept an eye on her.  GGM and Barbara took care of Bradley in the living room.
I slept over at Julian and Xavier.  I love sleepovers.  We mostly played video games. 

First thing I thought of when I woke up was that this was Decades Dance Day.

Field Day is the best day of the school year, and Decades Dance is the next best. 

Mommy, Mimz, and Barbara came to watch me.  Grandma is sick with a very sore throat so she didn't think she should come.

 Mimz, Mommy, and Barbara were all glad they were there to see me dance.  This is the last time I will have Decades Dance.  It is just for K thru second grade.

I am going to all of my running club practices and I think that is helping me run faster.

Xavier and Austin also made the team.

This is a great thing:
It list the top ten fastest second grade boys in the history of the school (12 years).  I am the fourth fastest second grade boy.
