Mrs. Cat had meetings all day, so her class was divided between all the other first grade classes.  I went to Mrs. Ward's class.  She gave me a smiley face drawing for my good behavior.

GGM watched me get off the bus.  I played with Cole.  I wanted cereal for dinner.

Mommy helped me put on my soccer shin guards, socks, and cleats, then she took me to my 6:45pm practice. 

Mommy drove me to school.  I always like that.

I played with Cole for the first couple of hours we were home from school, then Anthony and Alyssa got home from after school care and they joined us.

We have all learned to ride my electric scooter.  It is fun.

I ended up not going to my cub scout Blue and Gold event.  Instead I went with Daddy to eat crawfish with big Mason and his family.

Mommy took me to church school.  After that we ate dinner at a Mexican restaruant with Daddy.

Grandma bought a new car today.  It's just like a previous car she had and she knows she will really like it.

There was a time conflict with my football and my soccer games.  We decided I would go to my first soccer game and this would be the only football game I would miss.  I know my football team will miss me but it can't be helped.

We played our game at the iSports complex near Hooks airport.  It is a nice place.  My fans were Mommy, Daddy, Mimz, and Barbara.  Next time Barbara will bring GGF.  She didn't bring him today because she didn't know how much walking there would be to get from parking lot to the field.

My teammates are all good ball players.  I may not be as soccer knowledgeable as they are.  I have not had the same level of coaching that they have had, but I think I will be a quick learner.  I am playing the forward position, which is the person that does the scoring.   I'm trying to learn what my boundaries are and then remember to stay inside that area.  I did okay, I think.  I did score the only two normal goals my team scored.  Our other score was a penalty kick.   We won 3 to 2.

I spend 15 minutes this morning finishing my art project to enter into a school contest.  It is a beautiful picture that I colored.

Today was our school fun run fund raiser.  I ran 31 laps.  I got Mimz, Daddy, Mommy, Grandma, Papa, GGM, GGF, and Barbara to all make donations.  I had enough money pledged that I got  a really neat thin frisbee.

After school, I rode my bike to the park with Cole and his mom.  I love going to our park.

Back home I played basketball with Jackson until dark.

I came inside telling GGM I was starving.  I wanted breakfast, so she fixed me scrambled eggs with hot sauce, sausage, toast with jelly, and milk.  I wanted seconds of everything.

Mimz brought me home and got me onto the bus.

A good thing that happened today was that my music teacher said I was doing a great job in music.  Everytime she looked at me I was doing what I was being asked to do.

I didn't get a good behavior stamp today.  Mrs. Cat wrote, "tattleing constantly."

 It was normal play time after school.  I worked on my bike...

... and Alyssa decided her bike needed some work also.

Mommy, Mimz, and I went to my school's Open House.

Mrs. Cat said I am one of her favorites. She said I am a really good boy and that I loved to help her.
I am getting much better at drawing bigger.  I am learning to fill the entire space on a piece of paper.

This will be a short week at school because of the holiday yesterday.

Kristan went back to her teaching job today after being off for two months, so Barbara started her job of babysiting Anna Kate and her 2-month-old baby brother Bradley.  Barbara left home at 6:15am and got back home at 5:15pm so it was a long day, but she said it was not too hard.  Both children were very good.  And she thinks she can manage doing this job until school is out with some days of help from Andy and Kristan's mom.

My normal soccer practice is at 5:30 or ? but today the fields were wet, so we had practice at 4:45pm inside a gym.  Grandma was working at her ProLawn office so she was able to take me.   Mommy came as soon as she got off work.

I need new shin guards and shoes for soccer so Mommy took me to Academy.  

Today was the national holiday to celebrate President's Day.  I don't have school and Mommy is off work.  Mommy took me over to Mimz home around 9:30am.  Mimz and I had some time to wait before we leave for our day's adventure, so we cuddled in her recliner watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Mimz and I met Eli, Jacob, and their mom at Palava, a great fun active place for kids to run, climb, and figure out how to best acomplish tasks.

We watched a special American Ninja Warriors show on television.  Daniel Gil was on it.

Papa got new iphone, so he gave me his old phone, which was Barbara's old phone.

I enjoyed my football practice and game today.  It was team picture day.  The fans at my football game were GGF, Barbara, Papa, Mommy and Daddy. Mimz was in Dallas with Aunt Kathy and Grandma was scrapebooking.

I made a touchdown the very first play.  The final score was 6-0.  I pulled four flags.  I knocked down two passes... boy I wish I could have caught those balls!  I played quarterback a couple of times and I threw two good passes but my teammates couldn't catch them.   We had fun and I played well.

I didn't have a tie dyed shirt, so I wore my normal Friday Metzler shirt.  That was okay, as most kids don't wear what they are asked to wear on these special weeks.  I did four days this week, just not today.

The school owed me a purple spirit stick for my $10 contribution to the Pennies for Leukemia fund raiser.  I really didn't expect they would remember and give it to me, but today Mrs. Cat said she had been given the spirit stick for me.   If I turned in coins, they would not go towards a spirit stick, but if I gave paper bills I would earn one, so Barbara and I counted out my coins.  Total $8:50.  I swapped with Barbara.  I gave her the coins, she gave me a $10 bill.  I do like my spirit sticks.

We have a new fund raiser going on now to raise money for my school. We are going to have a fun run Feb 24th and I am taking pledges for the number of laps I run.  I think most of my family will give a flat amount.

I should have known when I jumped off the bus to have an answer for the this:   What good thing happened today?  Well, I forgot and I couldn't think but I did have this to say:   Addy was sent to the principals office TWICE today.  And G Washington's wife's name was Martha and Abe Lincoln's wife's name was Nancy.   President's Day is Monday, so we have been talking about presidents.

I rode bikes with Cole.  We cleaned our bikes too.  Maybe I am taking after Papa and Andy and think I have to wash my car every week.  Cole's mom just finished nursing school and she has a job, so she and Cole are moving to an apartment, but he will be riding the bus, so he will still be around.   I'm very happy about that.  Anthony and Alyssa are going to after school care since their dad is now working in the construction inspection field.  He is a retired NYC policeman.

I rarely want to eat after school, but today around 4:50pm I decided I wanted some scrambled eggs with hot sauce on them.  After I finished eating, I started to put the hot sauce in the refrigerator, but GGM said to just put it on the counter and she would put it away when she put up the eggs and milk.  Well, then we had some excitement.  GGM hit the hot sauce bottle with the milk jug and we had a big puddle of hot sauce and broken glass on the kitchen floor.  Barbara didn't think to take a picture since we were on our way out the door to meet my dad.  I guess I should have put the hot sauce in the refrigerator... then that would not have happened!   Accidents happen sometimes.   It was all cleaned up by the time Barbara got home.

We met my dad at Sprout's at 5:30pm. 
I had started a drawing at school but had not finished it, so I took the picture and some markers over to Daddy's and I worked on it tonight.

 I couldn't wear my school spirit shirt today because I wanted to wear a John Travolta Saterday Night Fever costume for our Decades Dance. 

The first graders had their 70s and 80s Decades Dance at 1:30pm.  Barbara was the only fan I had because all of my other adults either had to work at their or had committed to something else before they knew the date of my dance.  Mimz had to drive Aunt Kathy downtown.

 My white suit stands out and helps you locate me.

 At my cub scout meeting we had to decide which things on a list were made from corn.  We said corn bread and popcorn and other edible things were made from corn.  We put all of the non-edible things in the not-made-from corn pile.  We were wrong.  Everything on the list was made from corn.

I was ready for bed but I wanted to look at the pictures on my wall.


The good thing I had to tell Barbara today was Mrs. Cat said I had good handwriting today.

I wanted to wear shorts to school but it was 48 degrees outside, so I lost that argument.  One more day of cold weather, then it should be getting into the upper 70s every day for a week... then I can wear shorts to school.

I wore a blue shirt to reach for the sky:  my only limit is me!

Barbara asked me to be ready to tell her something good that happened today at school.  I was ready with an answer.   A boy accidentally dropped some trash under the table during lunch.  I picked it up and added it to my lunch tray trash.

Our special class today was PE.  We are practicing for our Decades Dance which is tomorrow at 1:30pm.  I'm not sure if any of my family can come except Barbara.  She will take pictures and videos for them to watch of the first graders doing 70s and 80s dancing.

I rode bikes with Cole for more than half an hour.

Then Mimz arrived to take me home with her.  She fixed dinner for Daddy and me.  I ate a lot.  I love cooked carrots.

 We have a new mailbox.  The other one was decaying because of a water leak.  We had a stack of bricks from the construction of this house and those bricks were used.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wrote this list of the names of my classmates and Mrs. Cat so I could make them each a Valentine gift. 

I took Valentine and a little bag of goodies for each of my classmates and my teacher.

Mommy gave be a little bag of goodies for Valentine's Day...

and Mimz gave a Valentine and a gift card to Chick-fil-A.  I can't wait to take her there so we can enjoy one of my favorite meals.

I wore my red Mutton Busting shirt to school.  We were to wear read to show love and respect for everyone around us.

It was raining so Cole's grandfather and Barbara held up big umbrellas at the bus stop to keep us kids and our Valentine's Day bags dry.

Anthony and Alyssa have to go to day care after school, so Cole and I spend time just playing together.   Today we washed our bikes again and we mostly rode our bikes in the "Barbara approved area."  It is from Cole's house to the little island, from my fence to Jackson's house.  If she wanted to find us, she could come outside and see us if we are in that area.

Daddy came to pick me up at 5:30pm.  He, Mommy, and I are going to do my homework for Monday and Tuesday since I didn't do it last night.

 At school I made a valentine for my parents.  I cut it up like a jigsaw puzzle.

Somehow, when they worked the puzzle a couple of pieces were missing.   ???? I don't know how that happened, but the important part was there.
