Travel around the world in our school today.  England

Mimz, Anna Kate, GGM, GGF, and Barbara were all waiting for my bus to arrive.   Anna Kate gets so excited to see me.  She wants to hug with me.  Then she wants to play.  Today she was playing with a basketball so I played with her for a little while.  Then it was time for Mimz and me to head to Mimz' home.

I ate some cereal in an interesting bowl.  It has a straw attached to the side, that allowed me to drink the milk.

It was a routine day, school, play with my friends...
and some with Anna Kate.  She understands she is supposed to get the ball from me...
 ...and run with it.   lol

Around 5:30pm I came inside, to get cleaned up, washing my face, and hands, brushing my hair, putting on new shirt and cologne.  My dad picked me up around 5:45pm and we met Mimz and Aunt Kathie at Mel's Diner to celbrate my dad's birthday.

I was off to school on my bus with my friends ready to start going to school again after a week of vacation.
I jumped off the bus ready to see AK waiting for me.  She get excited when she sees "May-ya" come running to her.  That is what she calls me.  She can't say Mason yet.

I got a Santa Claus stamp for good behavior today.

I played with my friends until dark.  I used a special cereal bowl to eat two bowls of cereal with banana cut up in it.   It was a bowl that we pulled out of the garage sale stuff that was given to Mommy.  It has a straw attached to the side that allowed me to suck up milk whenever I wanted more milk.

Mommy and I went over to watch football with Daddy tonight.

My Cub Scout Pack had a Thanksgiving Hike through the Mercer Botanic Gardens from 10am to noon, in Humble Texas.  Daddy played golf so Grandma went hiking with Mommy and me.
Mommy and I wore our orange Class B T-shirt.  Grandma carried GGM's walking stick.  It was given to GGM by some of their wonderful neighbors  in Arkansas when GGM broke her ankle while she was on a walk.
There were at least 15 boys.  Including leaders, parents, grandparents, and siblings there were about 35 people in our group.
We walked along a path in the gardens so it was not a hard walk.
James and I were the only Tigers again.  We were the only Tigers at the First Responders dinner also.  We stopped at the playground to run and play, then we had just a short walk to finish up.  We got back to our car at 12:20pm.

We drove back to my home and I was so happy to find that Anthony could play.  I sure like to play with my friends.

Forgot to write on this day.  I know Mommy and Grandma went shopping because this is Black Friday, but I have no idea what I did.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all.  I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving meal and thinks about the things we have to be thankful for.
My family is at the top of my list.  I am such a lucky boy to have so many people who love me and take good care of me and to show me how to be a kind and considerate person.

After Daddy and I woke up we came over to Mimz to get dressed and pack up the food Mimz made to take to Uncle Scott's home.
Mimz and her favorite grandchildren... Morgan and me!  Aunt Jill, Mimz, and everybody fixed a fantastic meal.    We are all thankful for the wonderful life we have.  We watched a couple of football games including the Dallas Cowboys.   They have ten straight wins.  Keep it up, Cowboys!  Wouldn't it be great if they make it to the Super Bowl?

Most of Mommy's family were not in town, so it was just GGM, GGF, Grandma, Barbara and Mommy at my home for dinner.  They kept if very simple and didn't stuff themselves because they had so much food to sample.  They had all the regular things: turkey, ham, dressing, etc, just not many side dishes.
Does this cherry pie resemble any little boy we all know and love?   GGM was being creative when she came up with this idea to decorate her pie.

Mommy went through my closet and organized my clothes, getting ready for winter.  I now wear a size 7 regular jeans.  My size five and six clothes are a little small.  I'm wondering if Knox could wear my outgrown clothes.  I'll ask Mimz.

Happy 82nd birthday, Grammie.

I was up by 7:30am and was hungry for raisin toast.  Mimz and I played games all morning.  Mimz won the first three games of Connect Four, then she taught me some strategies.  After that I was on fire.  I ended up winning seven games to four games.

I worked on the logic game Flow on the iPad while Mimz worked in the kitchen making three side dishes.  I think they are broccoli, sweet potatoes, and asparagus dishes.  She is assembling them today and tomorrow they are ready for the oven.  We both enjoyed this lazy day.  We both stayed in our pajama's for a long time.   We think Daddy will get off work early and he can come help with our cooking but Mimz think we will have it finished before he gets here.

After Mimz finished in the kitchen, Knox got home so I headed over there to play.  Mimz decided to sit in the recliner and rest her back for a bit.

I earned lots of Cheerios today.  It is hard to keep an accurate count, because I am a thoughtful boy... 99 percent of the time.

Mimz and I talked about GGF and his WWII service.  Mimz told me how several times people have paid for GGF's meal in restaurants because they wanted to nonor him for his service.  A little later I asked Mimz for paper to draw on.  I didn't tell her what I was drawing.  After I left Mimz found my drawing on the table.  It warmed her heart.
My drawing was for GGF.  It says, "Tac you for your srvis."  I am not much of an artist but my heart is in the right place.   Mimz texted the drawing to Barbara and she shared it and the story behind it with GGF.  He smiled and was very pleased at my thoughtfulness.  All of my adults are thankful to have me in their lives.

I am a creature of habit when it comes to weekday breakfasts.  I wanted oatmeal and some of  Barbara's sausage for breakfast.
After Mommy went to work I laid on Barbara's bed and we talked about the plans for today and for the holiday weekend.  I said my knees were hurting.  I scraped them yesterday riding my scooter.  Both GGM and Barbara tried to convince me that water was a great healer.
I didn't want to soak in the tub but finally I agreed to and guess what I had fun playing with my old bath toys.

We put some Neosporin and some Calimine lotion on my knees.  Then we put large pieces of gauze over them.  I was healed and able to run and ride and play full speed with my friends.

Barbara babysat Anna Kate at Anna Kate's home for three hours.  I stayed home to play with friends.  GGM was at home for me.   GGM gave me and my five friends a popcicle.  Later we came back and asked for ice cream.  She said no because it was too close to dinner time.
Mimz wanted me to come to her home tonight instead of in the morning.  I played in my room with Cole until Mimz finished getting a manicure and pedicure, then we met her at Sprouts.
Barbara was watching us play when she noticed that I had a very dirty ear.  She took this picture so I could see how dirty it was.  She had to scrub with a wash cloth to get the sticky dirt off my ear.  We cleaned my other ear also.  Later we noticed we should have washed my entire face.  lol   We didn't noticed my face was also dirty until we met up with Mimz.  lol  Mimz just laughed and said she was sure there would be a ring around her tub tonight!

Mimz put a pan of cookies in the overn for Knox and me.  We ate warm cookies with cold milk before we headed over to Knox' home to play for a little while.   I told Mimz I would read to her tonight.  She is looking forward to that.

The bath made my knees hurt so Mimz and I put ice packs on them for a litlte while.  I read one book and that distracted me from my hurting knees.   Mimz turned on Jake and the Neverland Pirates to keep my mind off my boo boo's and it worked.  It wasn't long after that until I was asleep around 9:15pm.

Monday, November 21, 2016

I was awake early.  Mommy has to get ready for work, so I run jump in Barbara's bed and then her day begins.   I wanted oatmeal again for breakfast.  Barbara brought it to me in bed.

Barbara had to take GGF to the doctor for a follow-up appointment.  GGM and I got to babysit Anna Kate from 9:30am to 12:30pm.  She was a very good little girl.  When my friends were here she wanted to be in the big middle of our play.  We all watch to be careful we don't run her down.
GGM made chicken and noodle soup.  I like all kinds of soup.  We are glad the weather is getting cooler, so we can eat more soup.

Barbara and GGF went to Walmart to get groceries part of which will be our Thanksgiving dinner.  I chose to stay home with GGM and play with my friends.
I fell while riding my scooter and GGM cleaned my knees and put medicine and bandaids on them.  Anna Kate wanted a bandaid also.  She has one on her tummy.  When her mom arrived to get her, we told her the bandaid was not covering a boo-boo.

AK calls me "May-ya."

I read two of my Mrs. Cat books.  I had not read them before and I almost read them with no help.  Just a couple of words had me stumped.

I ate three bowls of GGM's chicken and noodle soup.  Some days I have a bottomless pit, other days I don't want to eat.

An hour after Mommy got home, we went over to Daddy's to see him and to watch the Houston Texans.  I took my four Mrs. Cat books in case I am willing to read to Daddy.

Sunday, November 20, 2016

I spent the morning with Daddy.
Mommy, Andy, Kristan, and AK drove to Willis to see Papa and Grandma's new home.  Andy and Kristan had not been there since the construction started.
This is Barbara's casita and the other three car garage.
This is a drawing showing what the swimming pool will look like.

Since it is a school holiday week, there was no Pushmobile practice and no church school.

Mommy brought me home late in the afternoon.  We went through my clothes and found I was needing jeans, long sleeved shirts, and long socks.
Saturday  November 19, 2016

I was awake at 6:42am.  Barbara was awaken at 6:43am.  She offered me every breakfast food we have in the house.  I chose oatmeal.  I did eat half of her sausage pattie.

We played two games of Shoots and Ladders.  I won both games.  Later I played a game with Grandma.  I won that game also.  They try there best, I'm just lucky.

Another fun thing we did was time how long it took Barbara to read all the words on my Word Wall list outloud:  1 minutes 20 seconds.  Later I timed (using an iPhone stopwatch) how quickly Grandma could read them:  1 minutes 11 seconds.  I want to test Daddy, Mommy, and Mimz.
This morning Mommy, Grandma, Barbara, and I had to organized $1202  or 53 items of popcorn.  We had to put names on them and amount due.  And we had to organinze them in groups.  Briget had the biggest order ($800).  Andy will take her order with him when his family goes to Kristan's parents for Thanksgiving.  Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma had the other orders.    We came out with just exactly the right amount and kinds of popcorn.

Cole knocked on the door just as we finished.  I could play until time to get ready for my football practice and game.  Grandma was here so we knew we could take GGF to the practice and game because we could drive near the fields and he would not have a long long walk over uneven ground.

Today was the first cool day of the season.  My fans sat in the sun instead of under the shade of the tree.  My fans were GGF, Grandma, Barbara, Mommy, and Mimz.

GGF noticed the beautiful huge oak tree we practice under.  He walked over to explore it and he stopped to talk to people sitting under it.  He stayed over there visiting most of my practice.

During the game I think the other team scored two times.  I don't think we scored at all.  I didn't do anything really outstanding like I did last week.  I wore tennis shoes and I should have worn my soccer cleats to help me stay on my feet.  I still fall down way too much....  But I am good at falling down!  I've practiced it for six years and have it perfected!

As soon as I got home from football, I ran off to play with my friends.  Anthony and I came home to watch football on TV... oh and to eat some Top Ramen, Anthony's favorite.   Alyssa showed up just as we were about to eat, so Barbara had to split it three ways instead of just two.

Mommy and I went over to Daddy's to watch football and visit.

Friday, November 18, 2016

I think it was a pretty routine Friday except we all knew we would be on Thanksgiving vacation for a week.  I know the kids were all happy about that and I think the teachers were too!

We didn't have our spelling test today.  I don't know why we haven't had them for the past couple weeks.  I still study them so I will be ready just in case they happen.
While I was at school Andy came over to help with a couple chores.  There was a dead branch hanging in a tree.  Andy pulled it down to the ground so it wouldn't fall on one of us kids when we play in the front yard.

I played until 4:15pm, then I had to come in to get cleaned up and get dressed in my Class A cub scout uniform.  My size 6 jeans were a little short, so Mommy bought me two new pairs of size 7 regular straight legged jeans.  I wore one of them.  They might be an inch too long, but they barely bunch up around my shoes.  Normally we have to sinch up the waist, but these jeans fit me perfectly.
I had a little snack of banana nut cake that GGM made and ice cream.  I knew I would be eating dinner at tonights event.
My pack wanted to show our appreciation to Montgomery County first responders so we invited them to a spaghetti dinner.

Mommy had a sick headache so she couldn't take me to the First Responder's Dinner put on by my cub scout pack.  Grandma did volunteer to take me since she knew it would be dark and Barbara might be concerned about finding her way there and back in the dark.  But it was held at a school about 20 minutes from our home and Barbara knew right where it was so she happily took me.
 Food ready to be served.
The dessert table.
Not all of the boys had arrived when Barbara took this picture.  There were about 20 cub scouts there and their leaders and a few parents.  Most parents did not stay.

James and I were the only two tigers (first graders) there, and Tiger parents must stay at every event.
Barbara asked a couple of people if she could do something to help but they said they had it well organized but thank you for offering.  Barbara spend the evening talking with Allison, James' mom and watching me.

This event was from 5 to 7pm with policeman, fireman, and EMT's coming in any time to eat a spaghetti and salad dinner.  They had big dinner rolls, and lots of desserts.  To drink they had orange infused water and strawberry infused water and bottles of water.  Lots of people tried the infused water, like I did, but I decided I wanted bottled water, so Barbara drank my infused water.
 I was a greeter.
I said, "Thank you for your service.  Your dinner is that way.  Enjoy."  Or something like that.
 And I shook their hand.
I shook hands with about 8 or 9 first responders.
They knew we were in awe of them.  They were friendly and made us feel good about what we were doing.
The older boys did the serving.  Here I am standing in line to get a plate of food.

I ate two plates of spaghetti and two dinner rolls.  I didn't want dessert.
I am guessing ther were about 30 to 35 first responders there and they mostly came before 6:30pm, so after that time we boys started playing Simon Says.  I won the game once and I got to be the caller.  In this picture I am wiggling another loose tooth.

At the end the head cub scout leader got us all to clear off and clean off tables and sweep the floor.
And we lined up to help carry out all the cooking supplies.  Notice Tigers have on orange scarves.  That makes it easy to pick me out of the pack.
I'm heading out the door with some kitchen supplies.  See the orange scarf?
There was lots of left-over food that the parents put in take home containers.  Then they handed out sacks of dinner rolls and salad to the boys to take home.  This was a fun event.
The servers wore rubber gloves.  I brought two of them home and we blew one of them up.  While cooking a popcorn snack I discovered the microwave vent would hole the balloon up in the air.
When the microwave went off, the balloon fell.  I know I should not be standing on the kitchen counter wearing my shoes.  Things sometimes happen.
Upstairs on Barbara's bed, we tried throwing popcorn into the air and catching it in our mouth.  I was sucessful about ten percent of the time.  Funny thing:  Barbara had never tried to do this.  She was sucessful a couple of times.  Cole is really good at it.  I know all I need is practice to get better.

Mimz and I stopped at the doughnut shop for breakfast.  One of my favorite things to do.
Well, I've gone five weeks with perfect behavior at school.   Pretty good for a fun-loving boy.
Today instead of getting a stamp, I got an "8" which means I was not listening and paying attention during class participation.  I'll try to do better.
This is my second progress report.  I'm really surprised my math grade was not higher.  Math and Science are my best subjects.  And Reading is my worst subject.
In Art class we were told we could do anything we wanted to with the turkey feathers.  I wanted to make a very wild turkey.  I think I succeeded.

I brought home four new book that belong to Mrs. Cat.  Barbara wanted me to read them as soon as I got home but I had other ideas.  She did make me try on a pair of blue jeans.   We wanted to make sure I could fit into my jeans from last year.  They fit except they are a little bit short in the length.   I will need to wear a pair tomorrow evening.

I played with my gang until time to eat and get ready for my cub scout den meeting.
At the meeting we talked about Pinewood Derby cars.  I will make one.

We went to Kroger to purchase a pie for the First Responders meeting tomorrow and we delivered it to James' mom.

We went to home in Andy's neighborhood to pick up the popcorn we sold for Cub Scouts.  It filled our car with just enough room for Mommy and me.

Anna Kate had a fun day playing at her home with Barbara.  Here are some pictures of my sweet little cousin:
 Dancing.
 A little starlet.
 They built a fort.
Anna Kate tore up the fort.
Afternoon nap in my old toddler bed.
She likes one of my old rubber balls that I gave to her.
