Happy birthday, Uncle Dan!

Mimz' air conditioner compressor is shot, so she is hoping it will be repaired tomorrow morning and that her insurance will cover most of the cost.  So she and I roughed it last night but with fans it is bearable.   I could have gone home, but I wanted to stay with Mimz.

I earned a sticker because I was so very patient while Mimz was on the phone dealing with getting her air conditioner fixed.  We were on our way out the door when the phone rang, so that stopped our plans in their tracks.

We did make it to the pool and I had such fun with lots of kids.  There is a rock wall and I am King of the Wall.  I went up it many times and at the top I would hit the top as if I had just finished an American Ninja Warrior course.  I never did I fall into the water while on that wall.

Mimz took me to my baseball game.  Barbara brought my uniform and gear.  Mommy got there at the same time and she helped Mimz get me dressed.   It was also our turn to bring snacks.  We had Gatorade and Rice Krispy Treats at the end of the first game. At the end of the second game we had grapes, goldfish, and Gatorade.
We won one game and lost one game.  I did great at hitting, catching, and running.  I have improved tremendously since last season.

Mommy made this cute food decoration for work today.

I remembered as soon as I woke up that today I was going to Splash Town for the fifth time!  I wanted breakfast in bed, which I got.  That doesn't happen often, but today Barbara was rested and was willing to climb the stairs for me.  I watched American Ninja Warriors while I waited for time for Barbara to take me to meet Mimz.
At 9:30am we met Mimz at Sprouts Market.  Mimz and I drove to Splash Town to met Eli, Jacob, and their mom.
We had a great time playing together.  We all love the tree house.
I am so very good on the rope jump and the jump, and the slide into the ten foot deep pool.   We went to McDonald's for lunch.
Maritza has an underwater camera!
Eli has a waterproof cast on his arm.  How great that he doesn't have to miss out on swimming this summer.  It was a super fun day with my friends Eli, Jacob, Mimz, and Maritza.

All I wanted for breakfast was raisin toast and sausage while watching swimming trials for the Olympics swim team.

At 9:30 I knocked on Alyssa's door to see if she could play.
We did some building.  We made this car.
This is called Team Work.  I showed her how to make a ball of of these magnetic things.
We mostly played outside because it wasn't really hot this early in the morning.  In the afternoon it rained so Anthony, Cole, Alyssa, and I played at each of our homes.

My baseball practice was canceled do to rain and muddy fields.

I watched U.S. girls trying to make the U.S. gymnastics team.  I was amazed at the things the girls could do.  I got sleepy so I made Barbara promise to wake me up at 7pm so I could watch Michael Phelps swim.  True to her word Barbara woke me up at 6:30pm so I could go with Mommy to get my divisional ribbons and make it home by 7pm to watch swimming.

I won district ribbons for ninth place in freestyle and eleventh place in backstroke.  I earned a district medal for third place in my relay.  The district meet is made up of six swim teams.

I earned a sticker yesterday for excepting, without whining, what Barbara allowed me to do while we were at Splash Town.  I wore a life jacket when I didn't want to.  I accepted that she would not buy me ice cream.  ($6.00 for a little bowl of dip and dots!)  And other things like that.

Mommy and I watched TV with Barbara for an hour this evening.  We watched Olympic swimming time trials.

I was awake until 10pm.  The nap I took kept me from being sleepy at 9:30pm.

I went to Splash Town with Maddie and Barbara from 9:45am to 2:30pm.  It was as much fun as I remembered.  I loved Surfing and the rope swing, and jumping into ten foot water pool.  My favorite was the rope swing.  I could swing, release, fall into the water, then swim under water all the way to the ladder.  Maddie did everything I did except the surfing.

I ate an entire individual cheese pizza.  Maddie and Barbara had chicken tenders.

Barbara liked the Lazy River.  Maddie liked it all.  She climbed up a huge slide, to do the one that drops you almost straight down, but at the last second, she decided to take anther tube slide.  She said that was enough excitement for her.   Lots of people change their minds about doing that drop slide.  Next time Barbara wants to not get wet and just take pictures... of me, I bet.

Daddy wanted to surprise Mimz and have me be at her house waiting for her to return from her week of visiting friends and going to her 50th high school reunion.  She was oh so happy to see me!
Anna Kate is in New Brunsfield with her maternal grandparents.  They gave her a two wheeler Frozen bike with training wheels.

Mommy and I woke up early and we went for a boat ride with Papa, Grandma, and Barbara.  After about 30 minutes we stopped at a McDonald's to eat breakfast and fill the boat with gas.  Then I got to drive the boat part of the trip home.  We got back to Grandma's around 10am and Barbara decided to drive home then.
Yesterday we used live bait.  Today we used rubber worms.  Papa and I went to fish on the dock.  We didn't have any bites.  Mommy and I drove home and I played with Alyssa.  Mommy and Barbara worked on an ugly sweater for Mommy to wear to a July in Christmas event.

Mommy and I went over to Andy's home to visit for awhile.  We stopped at Kroger's to get some strawberries so we could try fixing a little dessert Mommy may want to take to work on Friday for their holiday luncheon.   GGM, Barbara, and Mommy altered the recipe a bit and decided it would be a good thing to take to the luncheon.

Alyssa got to have a sleep over with me.  One of the things we did was paint our faces.  Barbara took some pictures but she doesn't like the look so they may not appear on this blog.

We were asleep around 10pm.

Today was the first time I had a boy scout activity with Metzler boy scouts.  We went bowl in Tomball.  Mommy and Andy remember bowling there.  I was the only first grader that was there.
I bowled with these second graders.

We played two games.  I almost had a spare one time.  I don't have enough power behind my ball.... yet...  Give me a couple of years.
This is the entire group.
I had a really good time.

Mommy, Barbara, and I went to the lake.
Papa had been grilling so I had several different kinds of meat and vegetables to eat for dinner.
Papa and I fished from the boat dock.  This is all I caught.  We threw it back in the water.  Papa didn't have any bites.
Grandma, Barbara, Papa, and I went for a ride in the golf cart to a nearby pond.  Papa and I did a little fishing, but didn't have any bites.  I was taught three hand signals to let other drivers know what I was going to do.  This is to signal I'm going to turn left.
 Turning right.
Stopping.   I got to drive almost all the way home.

I jumped on the neighbor's trampoline with the son and one of the daughters.  I tried doing cartwheels and I did better than I do on the ground.  I got better and better at jumping on the trampoline.   One of the girls was fishing and she asked Papa for some bait.  When he tried to hand her a worm, she said he had to put it on the hook for her.  He said he would this first time, but next time she had to learn to do it herself.   I also went swimming with the same neighbor kids.

I slept until 9:15am.  I did have a busy day yesterday, so I guess I needed the sleep.

I laid on Barbara's bed playing with her iPad for an hour before deciding I was ready to get this day started.

I went over to Alyssa's home to make sure she had gone to VBS and she had.  Back home, Barbara and I played Fireman.  It is a silly game we played when I was a little kid.  We pretend her pillows are rocks and we are covered by an avalanche of rocks and the fire department comes to our rescue.  I had forgotten this game until we started playing and then it came back to me.  We drove motorcycles all over her bed and made them do fancy tricks and crash.  It doesn't take much to entertain us.   Barbara wanted us to read my library books.  I was not interested.

Cole came over and we played in my room.   Part of the time we played in my dark closet, just playing make believe.  We also spend at least 20 minutes working on a 1000 piece puzzle.  It was fun because we could find a piece with a person on it, find the person on the picture, and then know where to put it in the puzzle.  Because we each put in at least 20 pieces we got our name put on the back of the box saying we worked on the puzzle.   We rode our bikes and we played with water guns.

Happy 21st birthday, Austin.
Uncle Dan has a birthday in a few days.

Alyssa and I played most of the afternoon at her house but we ran back and forth between our house a half dozen times.  Barbara thinks we get snacks at one house, then we run to the other house for more snacks.

I fell while running and scraped my hip bone.  I didn't want any medicine put on it because I was afraid it would hurt.  I agreed to Bactine and that worked out okay.  I earned a sticker because I agreed to the Bactine.  But I have to remember that I won't earn a sticker every time I take medicine.

Around 7pm, I went on a bike ride with Cole and his grandmother.  We went to the park and talked to a kid that was fishing.   It was 8:30pm, almost dark when we got home.

Mommy and I played in her room until I fell asleep around 10pm.

Thursday, June 23, 2016

Alyssa and I woke up at 7am and came to my home to eat pancakes, sausage, and milk.  We played until 9:30am running between her house and my house.

GGF, Barbara, and I took GGM to an eye doctor's appointment.  They have free coffee, sodas, and chips.
And they have a tiny play room for kids.  I had that room all to myself.
I played a game on our iPad
From noon to 1:20pm Alyssa, Maddie, Barbara and I played at the neighborhood pool.  Because Maddie was there we got to play in the big pool.  Barbara swam with us.  We dove for our colorful rings, had free style races, tried to sit on the bottom of the pool.  We did any kind of trick we could think of.
I was running and fell.  I had this little boo boo.  I showed it to Barbara, then I was off running again.
Alyssa and I played with Cole for a little while, then he went home.  He got mad about something.
Of course, I was totally innocent.

AT 4pm Barbara told me I needed to come inside and rest until time to get ready for my double hitter t-ball game tonight.
Maddie and I played "store" in my room for the next hour.  I was the customer and I bought almost everything that was on my toy shelves.  When we finished we put everything back on the shelves.

I was dressed in my ball uniform before Mommy got home from work.  We are dog sitting for one of Mommy's friends in the neighborhood, so I went with her to let the dogs out and give them fresh water and food.  We are doing this in the morning and in the evening from Wednesday to Saturday.

The children on my t-ball team range from 4 to 6-years old.  There are two other boys that are the same height as me.  I am one of the better players.  I played outfield, third base, mostly first base, and second base.  We rotate so everyone can learn how to play different the positions.
During the two games tonight, I made many very good plays.  I made a super throw from outfield to first base for an out.   At third base, I tagged the base for a forced out.  I made several outs at first base.  I even ran down a few runners for outs.   I think all of my hits went to the fence and I always made it to first base.  My coach is disappointed that I will be too old for his spring team.  I am gaining a lot of confidence playing on this team.  Again, they are not really keeping score, but I think we won both games, with scores being something like 15 to 25.  The games started at 6:15 and were over by 9pm. Here is a series of pictures showing me in action:
 Warming up to bat.
 Batting.

Ready to run to next base.

My favorite part of baseball, sliding into home plate.
 Being congratulated by a fan.
Below are some photos taken by my Boy Scout Tiger camp leader.  Her son was playing on the opposing team.  They are similiar to the ones above that Barbara took with her phone, but they are better pictures.  Christine Campbell has a very nice camera.

Everyone says I am a pretty good little athlete.

The hardest thing about summer is waiting until 9am to knock on my friend's door to see if they can play.   While I was waiting I laid on the sofa and fell asleep.   Barbara woke me up after an hour and said I could go play now if I was ready.    I played with Anthony.  He didn't go to VBS today.

I went with Mr Mark and Anthony to pick Alyssa up from VBS.  We stopped at an Army supply store.  Each of of kids got to buy something.  Alyssa and I both picked out ammo waterproof boxes (very similar to a couple GGF has).  When I got home, I was reminded that I am supposed to say no thank you when Mr. Mark is going to buy me things.  Occasionally it might be okay, but not as often as it happens now.  I was told by Barbara I had to pay for it.  I got out my wallet and paid Mr. Mark.  I am supposed to be learning that I can't have everything I see or want.  I need to save my money for something that I really really need or want.  Of course, Mr. Mark didn't want my money, but I'm trying to learn a lesson so he said okay.
It's funny that I am taking naps some days.  When I am in school I don't get to take naps.  I guess I stay up later and I play harder and it is hot outside so I need those naps.
Alyssa and Anthony had me and another boy over for a sleep over.  Here we are eating pizza.
