I had a good night.  I actually asked to sleep in my own bed, but I did wake up at 4am and got into Mimz' bed and fell right back to sleep.  I woke up around 8am.  I was not itching, which was great!

Around 10a I was in my room reading books to myself.  Mimz loves that and she said she smiled when she heard me laugh out loud at something funny I read.  Actually I have been pretty funny all day, Mimz says.

Mimz called Fins Swim Club and made an appointment for next Wednesday at 4pm to have my swimming ability evaluated so they will know what class they need to put me in.  The evaluation takes only 10 to 15 minutes.  That will give me enough time to change clothes and get to soccer practice at 5:30pm.  Oh, they have viewing rooms where family can sit and watch the children during their lessons.

All of a sudden I got tired and I sat on Mimz lap watching TV and I didn't move.  I must still be tired from being sick.

Mimz and I took my paper work to church so I am all set for VBS in June.  Then we went to see the movie When Worlds Collide: HOME.  It was funny but it was a little long for both of us.

GGM, GGF, and Barbara babysat AK.  They had a nice surprise.  Fed X came with a package from Tennessee and they guessed it was from either Aunt Lisa or Grammie and Bubba.  It was a gift for Anna Kate and a gift for me from Aunt Lisa.  I don't know what my gift is yet, but the next time I am at Barbara's I will find out.
Anna Kate's gift was a pink tutu and a matching Seaside shirt.  The gift arrived late in the afternoon, so GGM and Barbara only had time to slip on the tutu and snap this picture before Aunt Kristan arrived to get her baby.  Anna Kate posed so nicely.  Maybe she really will be a ballerina!  I think her mother took ballet and I think she wants her to be more into dance than into sports.  They will take another picture of Anna Kate wearing the matching top with her tutu.

****This evening we posted pictures going clear back to April 17th to the present.  Be sure to look back.  There are some cute pictures of AK and me.***

I didn't wake up until 9am and my rash was still there from head to toe. I was upset that I couldn't go to school.  Mimz got a doctor's appointment for 11am.  Dr. Lacour and Dr. Watson were not there.  I saw Dr. Muese.   I weighed 46 pounds with my shoes on.  Normally they take my shoes off.

Well strep test shows I have strep throat and Scarlet Fever.  Mimz is sure a good diagnostician.  I am contagious.   I will take the medicine twice a day for ten days.  24 hours after I take my first medicine, I can go to school.  So that means no school until Friday and I am so upset to miss school.  Mimz called to let the school know I would be out until Friday.  I probably won't get to play soccer on Saturday.  I have probably been truly sick since Sunday night when I first had a fever, but we didn't realize it.  We thought it was all related to to much sun and sunburn.

I was tired and content to just read books and watch a movie on the iPad before falling alseep.

Boy we have had too much illness lately:  Mimz knee, Grandma's knee surgery, my pink eye, Mimz bad cough, Barbara's stomach virus, and now my strep throat and Scarlet Fever.  Enough....

Daddy got off early today and came by to take me home with him for a few hours.  I was asleep but he put me in my car seat and I went right back to sleep.  Mimz was going to nap while I was with Daddy.

Mommy called to talk to me.  I told her how I was feeling.  I don't want to be sick and I want to go to school.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Today was the Kindergarten Roundup, which is the event where parents take their five-year-old children to school to sign up for next years kindergarten class.   Mommy took me to Metzler Elementary.  There were about a hundred parents there with their little kids.  We met in the cafeteria.  While the parents did paperwork, all of us kids went to the kindergarten classes to do paperwork.  I colored and wrote my name.  I am a very neat color-er and I do a good job with writing my name.  Mommy was given a big packet full of information.

The current kindergarten children came into the cafeteria and sang four songs for us.  It made me excited to get into a class and start being a kindergartner.  I saw Dustin, who is the son of my baseball coach.  I hope he is in my class.

School starts August 24th.  I go meet my teacher on the Friday before that.  I will be given an ID number that will be my number all my years in Klein Independent School district.  I need to memorize that number.  That won't be hard for me.  I am good with numbers.  I will ride the bus.  That will be fun.

Mommy took me to School In the Pines and then she drove on to work.  Most of my classmates went to a Kindergarten Roundup today, so the kids all arrived at different times.   It will be sad leaving my school and my friends, but I am excited to start this new adventure.

Barbara is sick, some stomach bug, which causes, low fever, aches, and chills.
So Grandma is helping GGM and GGF take care of Anna Kate today and she also came to pick me up from school.  I recorded Barbara a message, using Grandma's phone, telling her to get better soon.   I did go upstairs to see Barbara in her bed.  She could see I was very concerned about her not feeling well.  She wanted to know about the roundup and about my sunburn.  My sunburn is getting better and I feel okay.  Barbara would feel better, then feel worse, then better, then worse.  Hope this bug runs its course soon.

The house was very quiet.  I guess I was quiet because I knew Barbara was resting, and I couldn't ask Grandma to do any active playing because she is still recovering from knee surgery.  The only loud person was Anna Kate.  She often squeals loudly with delight.
I laying on the sofa watching Gunsmoke with GGF and GGM.
The house was so quiet, I fell asleep.
I probably took an hour nap, which I don't do often, maybe once a month.  Around 4pm Grandma put Anna Kate and me in her car.  She was meeting Andy to give him AK and she was taking me to my mom's office.

I was very glad to go to Mommy's office.  I took some colors and small coloring book so I would have something to do while Mommy worked.

Mommy will have to go into work early in the morning to make up the time she took off to take me to Kindergarten Round-up, so she took me to Mimz home tonight.

My rash has gotten worse, it is all over my body and it is now starting to itch.  Mimz gave me Benedryl to help the itching.  This is the worst rash I have every had and it looks worse in person than it does in these pictures.

Before bed I said I was starving, so I had a bowl of cereal.  I then told Mimz my throat hurts when I swallow.  That made Mimz think I might have strep throat and maybe the rash is Scarlet Fever.  She talked to my parents and told them she was going to get a doctor's appointment ASAP.

Mimz let me sleep in her bed, so she could watch me during the night.  I was quickly asleep but I was restless.  I even scratched in my sleep and I did some coughing.  At 3a Mimz moved to the sofa, so she could get some rest.

I spent the night with Mimz.   Before going to bed I had a low fever which we all thought was a part of the sunburn, heat rash I was experiencing.

I went to school and then enjoyed the rest of the day with Mimz.  Daddy picked me up and took me to his house.  Mommy picked me up from there later in the evening and she took me home.

I was a good polite boy all day.

Sunday, April 26, 2015

We just hung out until I got to go play with Maddox again.  Maddox lives directly across the street from Grandma.   Their house is new and they just moved in a month ago.

At Grandma's house for lunch we ate fajitas.  Maddox, Parker, and I sat at a little table.  When I finished eating, I asked my mom if I could be excused.  Everyone was impressed.  Mommy told them I generally say I am full, but I do know about manners.

We left the lake around 6pm and Mommy took me to Mimz' home.  Mimz was so very very very glad to see me.  She has been so sick I didn't get to see her except once from a distance when Daddy and I came over to give her some chicken soup.

I played in the backyard with Peyton.  Mimz took down her bench seat swing and put up to child's swings and that is what Peyton and I played on.  I am really good at "pumping."

I had a bath, and by 8:20p I was one very tired boy.  We read two books and I was then so ready for lights out.  Mimz again said she was so glad I am with her tonight.  She said she and Barbara are so very blessed to get to help care for me and have me in their lives.

Mimz explained to me about VBS.  She told me she would not stay but there would be a lot of other kids my age and it would be for three hours for five days.  And she would always be there to pick me up.  I was okay with all of that.

I had a little sunburn on my ears and shoulders.  We think I will be pretty brown by the end of summer.  Generally I am pretty pale.

Rain, rain, go away.... come again another day!  My soccer game was rained out!  That makes two rained out games.  I don't know when we can make them up.

Mommy and I got up at Andy's house at 6:30am, and drove home to get ready for my game.... which didn't happen, so we went back to bed and slept until 10:30am.
We drove up to the lake and I spent most of the day playing with Maddox and his little sister Parker.
We swam a lot in the neighbor's pool.  It was 7pm before we came back to Grandma's home and I was one wrinkled little prune.  Maddox' mom said I was so very well behaved.

Mommy and I drove back to Tomball to go to a craw-fish boil and Cody's house.
Andy, Kristan, and AK were there.  The craw-fish was all gone, so we had a Jack in the Box hamburger.  Mommy and I drove back to the lake and I was asleep before we got there.  PaPa had to carry me upstairs.   Bridget, Chris B., Grandma, and PaPa were at a wedding.
Bridget was one of the bride's maids.

Actually I was super well behaved the entire weekend.

Friday, April 24, 2015

We had only one recess today, because of rain.  I had pizza for lunch.  We watched the caterpillars  and they are still in their cocoons.

We stopped at Kroger's grocery store on our way home from school.  GGF has now decided he wants crab salad from the fish market.  I like watching the lobsters in the big tank and getting a cookie from the bakery.  We also bought some ice cream sandwiches as a treat.

I entered the house very quietly so I would not wake up Anna Kate, but she was awake and happy to see me.  It was past her bed time, so she fell asleep soon after I got home from school.
I really helped GGM wash dishes, just big things that don't fit well into the dishwasher.  I stuck with it until we were finished.

GGM, Barbara, and I played Dodge Ball.  It wears them out, but I do so love that game.  We didn't turn the TV on, or play with the iPad at all today.

A new thing Anna Kate did:  on two occasions she waved bye-bye when one of us was leaving.  She is a baby genius!
Every few days we bring out one of my old toys for AK.  I love showing her how they work ...
... and she is really interested to see, touch, and listen.

After Anna Kate had been picked up by Kristan, I helped Barbara get boxes of my too-small clothes down the stairs using the chair lift and getting them into her car and over to my house.  Then with Mommy's help we went through them, only pulling out a couple of mementos and a few items that Anna Kate can wear.

Mommy and I went over to Andy and Kristan's.  We wanted to see Bridget and Chris B who are in town for a wedding.  I loved seeing AK and wanted to hug and love on her a bunch.  It was 11pm before Bridget arrived, so Mommy and I spent the night, knowing we would have to get up early to get home and ready for my soccer game.

Thursday, April 23, 2015

Grandma and GGF took me to my eye doctor's appointment with Dr. Herce.  Mimz would have taken me but she was really sick with a bad bad cough.  Turns out is was something that was going around and it was contagious, so that means I would not get to see Mimz for a few days.
This cow statue was outside the doctor's office.
Grandma told the doctor about my recent pink eye infection that reacted well to some eye drops I had for pink eye.  The doctor checked my eyes and said they were healthy and I did not need to come back.  Grandma was impressed with how well I could read the letters on the charts and I could even read most of the tiny letters.

Grandma dropped me off at school.  I told my teacher I had been to an eye doctor's appointment.  Barbara picked me up after school.

One thing I did at her house was use her key board to type Mimz a letter.  I started by typing her phone number.  Then I just typed any old letters I wanted to, pretending they were real words.  We sent that email to Mimz.  She was happy to get it.

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Oh No!  Mimz coughed all night and made an appointment to see her doctor later today.  That means I still don't get to let her take care of me.  (I started to write "babysit" but I am truly not a baby.)

Mommy took me to school which is always a treat for me.  Barbara and GGF picked me up from school.  When we got home, PaPa was there along with Ricardo and Juan.  They are there to do some work on the outside of the house.
Today Anna Kate held two of her bottles completely by herself from start to finish.  We still have to hold her in the right position, but as far as holding the bottle, she was doing it by herself.
And that little girl likes to get on her hands and tippie toes.  Maybe she is going to be a ballerina.

I may have said this before... if she sees we have filled her toy box, she must empty it.  She takes each and every toy out of the box.  Anytime AK was awake, we played with her.

We went for another stroller/bike ride.  While we were outside in the bright light, we could see that Anna Kate has a fifth tooth!

I found my roly-poly near the same place I found him yesterday.  That was interesting to me that he would still be near the same place.  I wonder if he has a home near there and if he has a family.

GGF, Barbara, and I went to Kroger's and HEB.  We bought a bunch of produce and some chicken legs.  GGM roasted the legs in the convection oven.  Tasted like fried chicken without the frying.

Daddy and Mommy both worked late today, so Barbara was my only fan at my soccer practice.  I am obviously the strongest child and the fastest child on my team.  I need lots of practice at home on my soccer skills.

I helped Brad work on his yard until Mommy arrived to take me home.  Barbara still sits outside so she can keep an eye on me.  She doesn't want Brad to think he is babysitting me.  She brought us some apple juice to help cool us off.

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

I sure wanted to sleep this morning because it was after 9pm before we got home from the softball game, but I managed to wake up enough to get everything done so we arrived at school on time.

We watched the caterpillar cocoons in my classroom.  Before long they will become butterflies.
I have wore a baseball cap to school the past two days.  I sure enjoy doing that.  Barbara insisted I put my name in my cap because according to her my name is supposed to be on everything I bring to school.  I told her my dad said not to write on my caps.  She said I had a choice: write my name in my cap or leave it at home.   I printed Mason inside my cap.
Sometimes I want a drink of milk from one of my old sippie cups.  Then I always comment about how much work it is to drink out of them.  You can't just gulp gulp and get a big drink, you have to really work at sucking over and over.

AK was asleep when we arrived home from school, so GGM, Barbara, and I had a rousing game of Dodge Ball in the big TV game.  We laugh a lot.  We quit playing that game when GGF came upstairs.  He is afraid we will get hurt or break something so we only play Dodge Ball when he is downstairs.

I laid on Barbara's bed with the iPad playing a racing game. Generally I am allowed to get one new free app a day, but it has to be one that Barbara approves.  It can't be fighting, weapons, violence, or too grown up for kids.
I played with Anna Kate on GGM's bed.
GGM and Barbara only give AK a couple of toys to pay with at a time, but when I am playing with her I dump her entire shoe box of toys onto the bed.  We need to get another large shoe box.... all of her toys won't fit in the box we are using now.

Barbara and I rode our bikes, while GGM pushed AK in her stroller.   After a short walk we turned around and took them home, then Barbara and I rode our bikes a longer distance.  When GGM got tired, GGF pushed the stroller.
AK is in heaven when she is outside AND when she has my attention.
I saw a bug.  It was a Roly Poly.  Barbara helped me get it into my hand and I watched it roll into a ball.  We think it does that to protect itself from its enemies.  I didn't hurt him.
I put him back by the grass where I found him.  Aunt Kristan drove up while we were outside.  AK couldn't wait for her mother to get her out of the stroller and into her arms.

I found out Mimz is feeling much better and she is so ready to care for me tomorrow.

Monday, April 20, 2015

Mimz was still feeling pretty bad with a terrible cough, so Barbara and GGM took care of me today.  I went to school happily.  We have caterpillars at school that we will watch turn into butterflies.

We made a quick stop at Lowe's for GGF, then we hurried home to see if AK was awake.
She was and boy was she happy to see me.
I spent a good part of the afternoon playing with her.

She is so very close to crawling.  I think if we put an smartphone on a string and held it a couple of feet in front of her, she would have the motivation to take off crawling.  When she sees a phone, her only mission is to get to that phone.

Oh, Anna Kate was 8 months old today.

Mommy and I had a fun evening.  Her high school softball coach is retiring and tonight was his last home game, so many girls whom he had coached over the years came to the game, including four girls from my mom's team.   I loved watching and asked lots and lots of questions.  I said I want to go to more games, softball and baseball.  Barbara added that to my list of "Mason Summer Activities."

During the ceremony, they had all the former softball players go out onto the field, and I got to go there with my mom.  She couldn't and wouldn't leave me in the stands by myself.)  They did announce that Mommy's team was the Texas State Champions her senior year.

I had already had dinner at Barbara's, but I still ate nachos at the game.  I had a blast.  I talked with Amanda, a girl from Mommy's team a lot.  Yep, we need to do this again.

April 19, 2015  Sunday

I spent the day at home with Daddy.  We played football in the house.
Boy we had heavy rains and also hail.
When it quit raining, I played out in the soggy grass.  I also played with the hail.
While getting my wet clothes off, I decided to take one more streak through the yard one more time.

Daddy and I took Mimz some chicken soup.  She said it tasted so good and really helped make her feel better.  She said she doesn't remember ever feeling as bad as she has this week.  She would not let us get near her because she sure didn't want us to catch what she has.
I got to see my new water shoes...
Mimz bought them so I could wear them to Splash Town this summer.

Daddy took me over to Mommy's and Mommy and I spent the evening dancing and resting, getting ready for the upcoming week of work and school.

I ate some left-over cake from Mommy's party.
They had hail at Barbara's home in Tomball also.
Here is a picture showing the size of the hail.

Saturday, April 18, 2015

I spent the day with my dad, just doing guy things.

Mommy had her party for the ladies she works with.

Friday, April 17, 2015

A regular Friday, spend going to school and at Barbara's home.
I rode my scooter.  I developed great scooter skills when I was just a little toot and I still ride with ease.
We played some basketball and when we finished I let Anna Kate hold the ball for a bit.
She was happy to be included.
For some quiet time Barbara and I read some Tinker Toy instructions to make a cart and a peacock.
We use this garage sale find to hold AK while she eats.  She like it because she is the centerpiece on the table.  We comment about how often we find three or four sets of eyes on that little doll.
I was a good boy all day.  Barbara told Daddy that when he picked me up after work.

Mimz says my new water shoes arrived in the mail.  I can't wait until it is summer and I can use them often to go to Splash Town with Mimz.   Elijah has a season pass also, so he will get to go with us.

Thursday, April 16, 2015

After Mimz took me to school, she went to her doctor and found out she has a contagious viral infection.  That means I won't be spending the afternoon with her.  Mimz did take her cough medicine and it helped her sleep and she started to feel better.  Get well soon, Mimz.

When Barbara and GGF picked me up, I knew Mimz was contagious, just like I was a couple of days ago with my pink eye.

This is a sample of my handwriting... my first name....
...and my last name.
I
I was a little tired today and I spent part of the afternoon playing on Barbara's bed.  I had a bandage on my arm, but somehow it ended up on my bottom.

I played nicely with Anna Kate.  I remember most of the old toys, that once were mine, that she is playing with.

We had a big rain storm this evening.  There was a lull in the storm so we took advantage of that time period for Barbara to drive me home.  She and my mom needed to sew another tablecloth.  I understood I had to play by myself.  Barbara agreed to let me sew using her sewing machine after the tablecloth was finished.  I waited pretty patiently.

I remembered that tomorrow was Friday and I asked if I could have pizza.  Barbara said if Mommy reported that I had been a good helpful boy all evening she would buy my lunch at school.  For about five minutes I was super good.
It was time for me to sew and I did a super great job sewing three long rows of stitches.  Then it was time for Barbara to close up her machine and go home.  Well, I would not listen when she told me it was not a toy, I had to be supervised, she was tired and ready to go home, and I could use the machine another day at her home.   I whined and pouted, and got mad.  Guess who is not eating pizza for lunch tomorrow?

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

At 8am I was still asleep.  Mimz helped me get ready for school.
While I was at school, Mimz had two more companies come to try to find out where the water leak in her house is coming from.  She is getting frustrated with this problem.
I have not been a person to pick up bugs and such. Mimz was really surprised when I picked up wiggly Mr. Worm.  Mimz does not mind touching bugs and she is helping me learn how to be okay with handling creepy crawly things.  Barbara is glad Mimz can teach me to handle creepy things... it is not her thing.
We watched him for a long, long time.  Here he is digging a new hole and we poured some water on him, so he would have a swimming pool.
Mimz invited the neighbor girls over to play in our backyard.  We play well together.  I am the climber.
Anna Kate has played with a shoe box full of toys and she is ready for some new toys so we gave her three more of my old toys including a rattle...
... and a teething ring.  We did wash them before we gave them to her.

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

It was a routine day.... Barbara took me to school and picked me up.
We stopped at Mimz home to get my backpack before school.  It has a change of clothes in it, in case I need it, but so far, since I was 18 months old, I have not needed a change of clothes at school.  The main thing I need it for is to carry a jacket, my lunch, and any papers and art work I bring home from school.

I am still taking eye drops three times a day to treat my pink eye, but I am not contagious now.  And I am taking one Claritin chewable tablet a day to help prevent allergy symptoms during this time of year.

I was so very very very happy to get to touch and play with Anna Kate.  And she, of course, was glad I was there.  If I am not playing with her, she still likes to watch what I am doing.
I could feed her an entire bottle, but generally after a couple of minutes, I am ready for someone else to finish the job.
It is hard to keep socks on that little dickens.
The television in the big TV room is not connected so Barbara helped me move the Wii into her room.  As you can see the hardwood floor are missing, except for the places that have tile, all we have is concrete floors downstairs and plywood floors upstairs.

I played with some slime we made a couple of months ago.  It was still just as slimy as it was when we first made it.

I put a new app on Barbara's iPad.  It was a street race.  I liked playing it, but I really liked watching Barbara play it.  She is a terrible racer, hitting walls and even driving the wrong way... brother, I can't believe they let her on real streets.

It was another good day.  I was glad to see my dad when he came to pick me up.  Before Daddy took me over to Mimz around 8:30p he had me all ready for bed.  I can't stay with him because he has to leave very early in the morning for work.

Monday, April 13, 2015

I slept until almost 8am.  I barely got to see Mommy before she left for work.  Poor me!  I can't go to school today because I have pink eye.   I think I can go to school tomorrow because I am responding to the eye drops.
The worst thing about today is I can not be in the same room as Anna Kate!!!!!  It is not fair.  I want to cry!  I like that baby girl and I want to hug and play with her.  But I also don't want to give her my pink eye germs so I will keep away from her today.

Barbara and I went to Wal-mart and bought a few groceries before going over to her house.  The only thing we bought for me were Popcicles.  I grudgingly helped carry in the groceries.  I wanted to go see if I could see AK from great grandmother's bedroom door.

GGM kept AK downstairs and Barbara kept me upstairs.  We played Dodge Ball.
I took a very very very long bubble bath/shower with lots of toys to play with.
I am easily tickled at the funny things I hear.

I got comfortable on Barbara's bed playing on the iPad.  We started to watch a TV show, but I wanted to play Fireman, so we turned off the TV.

We took AK for a stroller ride.  I rode on my scooter.  That was the only time I was allowed near Baby Girl and then I could not touch her stroller or her.  She loved watching me going fast on my scooter.

I had mentioned to Barbara a couple of times that I was sleepy.  I was right.... I fell asleep around 5pm.
