First thing I said this morning was that I felt good!!!  Yea!!!  It's the last day of school and I didn't want to miss.   Everyone has early dismissal at 12:30pm!
This picture was taken Aug 21, 2017, on my first day of second grade....
... and this picture was taken today on my last day of second grade.  My face looks a little older.

I only wanted one package of oatmeal.  I'm starting to get my appetite back, but I'm not quite there yet.  I wore my backpack to school because I was not at school yesterday when my classmates brought a lot of stuff home, so I will fill it with my school work today.
Cole and I had jumped off the bus, happy that our summer vacation had just started. Cole had to stay with either Mr. Mark or Barbara for an hour after we got off the bus.  Cole and I chose to play with Alyssa at her house until I had to leave for Austin's End of School party.
I brought this letter home from school.  It says I'm behind on reading, so I really ...
...need to read a bunch this summer.
Fortunately the pool which had been closed for repairs and maintenance was OPEN!  So we had a blast playing in the pool.  There was a DJ and he really entertained us.  It was a fun party.  Barbara took me and stayed for a short time.  Daddy came to see what was happening and Mommy came right after work to join the fun for a few minutes before we had to leave for baseball practice.
Here are some pictures Mommy took:

I was not good about leaving the party to get dressed for baseball field practice.  After I was dressed and in the car on the way to practice I was okay and I had a good practice.

Back home I played at Anthony's, then we went outside to ride bikes.  Henry wanted to go to the corner store.  Mommy said I couldn't go, it was getting too dark to ride bikes and too late to go to the corner store.  I threw a temper tantrum.   I finally excepted the fact that I couldn't go.  I earned a consequence.

I spent the night at Anthony's.  Mr. Mark promised to send me home at 7:15am.  Normally I would not have gotten to do that after the bad behavior I had three times today, but this was already planned.

I woke up at 6:15am.  I found Barbara was up already.  I said I didn't feel good.  We are hoping I feel  good enough to go to the last full day of school.  I laid down on Barabara's bed and quickly fell back to sleep.

I woke up at 9:15am.  I felt a bit warm, so Barbara used a new thermometer to take my temperature.  It was 99.2F.  So I really don't have a fever.

I asked for breakfast in bed.  I then decided what I wanted was a Popsicle.   After I ate two Popsicles, we only had two left.  Barbara needs to go to the grocery store to get more sugar free Popsicle for her favorite big boy.   Bradley is her favorite toddler.  Anna Kate her favorite little girl.  And Baby Berneche is her favorite baby.

I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat.  I finally decided I wanted a chocolate shake, so Barbara fixed me one.  She wanted to put some banana in it, I said no.  When I tasted it, I tasted banana, but she didn't put any in it.  Just my imagination.

At 10:30am we turned off the iPad and I read for 20 minutes.  I agreed to eat some fish sticks, so Barbara made some deviled eggs while she cooked the fish sticks.  I like deviled eggs but wouldn't eat any.   I ate fish sticks and watched the iPhone.  At noon, I read for 15 minutes, then I said I was ready for oatmeal, two packages.   I only ate half of my oatmeal.

I spent the entire day in Barbara's bed only getting up to go to the bathroom.  I like being catered too.

I watched amazing NLB catches, triple plays, and unassisted triple plays.  Hey, in case you didn't know, my Aunt Bridget made an unassisted triple play in softball when she was a kid.  She caught the fly ball, tagged second base, and ran down the girl who was running back to first base.  What a girl!

Bridget and Chris' baby is due July 8th.  No one knows if the baby is a girl or boy.

At 4:45pm I put on my jammers and went to Londonderry pool to get my picture taken with my teammates.
Normally I would be moving all over the place, but today I just sat down to wait to line up for the team picture.
We are a big group but somehow we all managed to get lined up.
I'm on the first row of standing kids.  I'm third from the left, if you don't count the redheaded girl at the far left edge.

After it was over, I took my individual picture.  Mommy and Daddy were both there by that time and it was decided that I would just go home with Mommy since I didn't feel good.

I got home, went upstairs and laid down on Mommy's sofa.  That is where I stayed the rest of the evening.   I had a temperature of 100.1.   I was convinced that meant I could not go to school in the morning.  Barbara tried to assure me if I felt good in the morning, I could go to school.  I was not real sure about that.

There was no baseball practice tonight... I could not have gone to it.

I woke up feeling like throwing up.  I felt bad last night also.  But I got up, dressed, ate breakfast and went out to wait for the bus.

Daddy baked some brownies, just like the kind GGM makes for me (Betty Crocker Milk Chocolate Brownies) and he brought them over to my house ...
...along with this note.
I felt okay for a long time at school but before lunch I felt bad so I went to the nurse.  I started feeling okay so I went back to class.  At about 12:50pm we came in from playing outside and I threw up into a trash can.  I went to the nurse.   It was 92 degrees outside.  I didn't have a fever.   Mommy called Barbara and she and GGM came to pick me up.

I saw the brownies Daddy made for me, but I didn't want any at that time.  I drank some Gatorade and laid on Barbara's bed and watched her iPad.   I felt good enough to want to go to swim practice but I didn't want to go to baseball practice.

Well, swim practice was canceled because the pool water was dirty.  So I wanted to go play at Austin's.  Barbara didn't think I should exert myself playing outside.  Between Mommy, Daddy, and Barbara it was decided that if I swam at Austin's, I would also go to baseball practice.  Or I could stay inside the house for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

I chose to swim and go to baseball practice.  Well, if you know me, you know that I will swim at Austin's happily, then come home and say I'm too sick to go to baseball practice.

As soon as Mommy got home at 5:30pm, we headed to baseball practice.  I started feeling car sick and by the time we got to practice, I really didn't feel well.  Both Daddy and Mimz came to practice.  Mimz came to bring me a new bat.  Everyone agreed I should not practice, so we turned around and went back home.

I laid on Mommy couch with Gatorade and her phone.  I stayed just like that until I had to get up to brush my teeth and go to bed.  I didn't fall asleep until 9:15pm.

Memorial Day

I had a great time riding my dirt bike despite the heat.  After that ride, we headed to Mimz' neighborhood pool.  I had to pass a swimming test to be able to swim without an adult in the pool with me.  It is a new rule because they had several close calls and rescues of kids last summer.

This summer I have to check in with the lifeguards and get a special red wristband to show I have passed the test.  I practiced my breaststroke and butterfly and really enjoyed playing around with my dad.

I had a bad coughing attack when I got home.  I used my inhaler to get it to stop.   I rested on the couch watching Mimz' iPad.

Daddy grilled steaks and I loved eating baked sweet potato and green beans.

My good goggles broke this weekend, but Mimz had another pair, so know I have two pair in my swim bag.  We are supposed to have a spare just in case one of them does break.

You are tired of our apologizing for pictures being late being posted.  And I'm tired of being so far behind.  Pictures are ready to be posted.  When we are 30 days behind, it will take a few hours to get caught up.  We started posted pictures for April 24th this morning.  Let's see how much we can get done today.....   We are caught up!  New pictures on blog from April 24th to May 26th!

At The Pond...

Saturday, May 26, 2018

Daddy took me to my swim meet this morning.  He was a volunteer timer for session one.
I swam in events 10, 32, 44, 62, and 72.  I wasn't supposed to be in any late relays but they needed a sub for events 72, so I did it.  Papa came to watch my entire meet.  Barbara was not coming because she was going to babysit my two cousins, but Andy's plans fell through so she came to two of my events.  Grandma and Mommy were at a baby shower for Bridget.  Mimz was at Morgan's high school graduation.   This is a busy weekend for everyone.
I was responsible for taking care of my things.... I lost my shirt.  I have been told to put everything in my nice big swim bag and then that won't happen.  Maybe I will learn one of these days.
 I earned three ribbons...
First place for my breaststroke and fifth place for my butterfly.  And a fifth place ribbons for 10 and under 100 meter IM.  That's pretty good for an eight-year-old.

I went home to The Pond with Papa so I could see all of my Laplante family.  Papa and I stopped at the grocery store to buy more groceries for this Memorial Day weekend.
My right ear is swollen and at one point I said my ear hurts..  That has happened before and Benadryl helped.  I got doses of it around 4 and 8pm.  I was asleep around 8:30pm.
Morgan graduated from high school today.  Congratulations, Morgan!

Forgot to write....

At the end of swim practice, we all got in the deep end and played.

Thursday, May 24, 2018

I spent the night at Mimz' home and Daddy bought me home to catch the bus.  We didn't quite make it home before my bus left my bus stop.  But we did manage to get to the next bus stop before the bus, and I got on there.    No problem.... I haven't been tardy getting to school all year.

I turned in my last two library books.  The school year is almost over and I will be a third grader in just a few days.

As usual I wanted cereal after school.  I dressed for swim practice and I wanted to go early so I could watch the big guys swim.   I also checked my folder and found my four ribbons from the last meet.  Three blue ribbons and one red, that is three first places and one second place.  Yea!

I couldn't play on the playground after swim practice because I had to get home to change into my baseball uniform.  Swimming was over at 5:30 and baseball starts at 6pm.  I was only three minutes late getting to baseball.  This was a fun practice.  Part of the time, we played against the coaches.  Quess what!  The coaches are pretty good.  One time I put Coach Bryan out at first base, which was fun.  I played first base, pitcher, and mostly third base.  Daddy came and watched my practice for about 20 minutes.

Normally after practice, I goof off for about ten minutes with some of my teammates  on the field, but today we all left right after practice.   I wanted to spend the night with my dad, so Mommy got me clothes to change into and Daddy came to get me.

Five and one-half days of school remaining!
I'm hoping next school year, when I'm starting with a clean slate, I will earn all Es for my conduct grade.  I'm had a hard time this past 9 weeks.  I play to rough, rush through my classroom work, and in general have a problem sitting quietly.

I didn't have time to go to swim practice today, so after I ate an after-school-snack, I rode my bike to Austin's to play.

Mimz came to pick me up at 5pm to take me to baseball batting practice.  My glove was not in my bag... I guess we need to search for it.

This morning at 9:15am the PE, Art, and Music awards assembly was held in the gym.  I knew I was getting an award because my mom was sent a notice that I would be receiving something.  I was sure it would be an award for running in the Dream Mile.

Barbara came to see me get my awards.

This is a picture of all of the second graders.
Actually my name was called several times, all having to do with running.  This award is for being in the Huskies on the Run club.
I ran more than 100 laps this season during practice so I am a member of the 100 Club.
I qualified for the Dream Mile by running a mile in 7:01 minutes.
Second graders in the running club.
Second graders in the Dream Mile race plus one more boy.
My Dream Mile award.
And another great award.  I am in seventh place for second grade boys since 2013 in running the mile at my school.
All four boys this year made that list!
And Ellie, the only second grade girl in this years Dream Mile, made the list for the girls.
I would be surprised if she was not # 1 for the girls.
 We were pretty happy kids.
My three favorite days of school this year: Field Day, Dream Mile Day, and this Awards Day!

Swim practice was canceled due to the rain.
Anna Kate was waiting for me to get off the school bus.  Cole and Alyssa both agreed she has grown a bunch since she was last here.
Bradley is growing too, but I can still pick him up.
I wore my Dream Mile award home from school.

I had a bad behavior period that lasted maybe ten minutes.

I went shopping with Mommy and Barbara to get some things for Bridget's baby shower.  We did not find what we wanted.  We did get a little rubber ducky for the baby, but that was all.

Mimz and Daddy took me to my 8am baseball game this morning.  We lost but I played really well.  This was the last game of the season.   Soon we start summer ball.

I spend the day with Mimz and Daddy.  Daddy played outside with Knox and me.

Saturday, May 19, 2018

I sure didn't want to get up this morning.  I didn't go home until after 11pm, but I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.   6:30am came to quickly.  But I did get up and put on my jammers, ate oatmeal, and got to the swim meet by 7am.
Daddy and Mommy shared the volunteer timing job.  Mimz and Barbara were both there to cheer me on.  I bought Noah, my Bolt Buddy,  Powerade Blue Mountain drinks and he brought me Root Beer.

I swam in event 2, 10, 22, 32, and 72.  Mimz and Barbara left after event 32.  It was just too hot for them to stay for another 40 events waiting to see me swim freestyle 25 meters in a relay.
I am getting to be a better and faster swimmer every day.  I enjoy going to practice and am very competitive.

I earned three first place ribbons and one second place ribbon this meet.

I had two baseball games tonight.  The one at 4pm we won 20-4.  I walked each time I was at bat.
We lost the 8pm game, but I played well. Mimz and Daddy were there to watch me.

Our baseball coaches gave us each a trophy.  We didn't win many games, but we tried our best and we all improved our baseball skills.

We get happier every morning.  Just a few more days and we will be ready for a carefree summer.

I sure wanted to sleep longer this morning.  Just a couple more weeks and school will be over and I can sleep later.

I didn't study my spelling words like I normally do, but I thought I could spell them.  As it turns out we didn't have a spelling test this morning.

I jumped off the bus ready to eat cereal and then I was ready to head to the pool.   Barbara took me about 30 minutes early.  I could have gone to the playground but I wanted to watch the big guys practice.  One of the coaches showed me how he does the butterfly.

I got into the 3 foot deep area and practice swimming all of my strokes.  I'm really enjoying going to practices.  My dives are really getting better.  I'm not diving as deep as I used to.

I'm really enjoying swim team this year.  I'm a competitor.

Daddy showed up at the end of practice.  He talked to the coach and the coach said I could swim with the 9 and 10 year old if I wanted to.  That is what I have been wanting.   Yea!

Daddy took me to Urban Aire, which is one of my favorite places to go.  It was 11pm before I got home, way to late when I have a swim meet and two baseball games tomorrow.  I was asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow.
