I was unhappy this morning.  Mimz' neck was still bothering her, so she couldn't take me to school and I thought she would not pick me up from school.

That meant I would not get to go over to her house to continue work on my new Lego fire engine kit.  I have been wanting to work on it for several days.

So Barbara took me to school but I was happily surprised when Mimz was there waiting to pick me up from school... that meant I got to work on my Lego fire engine.  I spent a lot of time working on it, but towards the end I was getting impatient to play with it so Mimz helped speed up the process and gave me a hand getting it finished.

Mimz said we needed to lay down for fifteen minutes to rest, so she turned on Emergency and I was asleep in just a few minutes.  Mimz's air conditioner is not working, so she had a repairman come check it out.  He had to come into the bedroom to gain access to the attic.  He and Mimz were in the bedroom talking when he noticed me asleep on the bed.  He apologized for talking so loud, Mimz told him not to worry, I was a very sound sleeper just like my dad and Uncle Scott.

Mimz drove me to my soccer practice where my normal fan club had gathered: Mommy, Daddy, GGM, Barbara, and Mimz.  It was a confusing disorganized practice, but I probably learned something and practiced my soccer skills.

Mimz had lasagna for us to eat for dinner.
I was glad to go back to her house, so we could finish and play with my newly built Lego fire truck.

At school a team of cameramen were shooting a commercial for HEB grocery store.  A few children at my school were featured.   From my class only twins Aubrey and Brant were in it.  We did not have TOT today because of the filming.  Filming disrupted the entire school, but we tried to just continued with our routine day at school.

Mimz has a bad neck ache.  I sure hope it gets better soon.
Back at Barbara's I laid on the floor outside GGM room waiting for her to wake up from a nap.
Close up picture of me while I was reading.

I do have a new old TV show to watch:  Adam 12, about two patrol policeman.

We added water to the clean waterfall.  (Grandma picks PaPa up at the airport tomorrow at 6am.)

I sure like GGM to play with me.  When she takes a nap, I so want her to wake up and open her bedroom door.
We played with my big new water guns I got from the Easter Bunny.   GGM is the official water gun filler and she is off limits as far as getting her wet.  Barbara and I both were soaked.
We didn't have spare clothes for me, so we left my clothes out in the sun to dry.  They were almost dry when Daddy picked me up around 5:15pm.

Barbara came over to my house to get me out of bed, dressed, and over to her house to eat breakfast and enjoy a day of play with GGM, GGF, and Barbara.  We searched Mommy's house trying to find my new blue tennis shoes.  We found my old gray ones but not the new blue ones.  Everyone still needs to keep searching their homes and cars.

I forgot to write this last week:  I slept over at Barbara's most nights.  Before I got in bed, I always looked for my babies: Monk Monk and my polar bear.  I wanted both of them to sleep with me.  And often when I sit down to read a book I go get the babies, so they can sit with me to listen.

Breakfast, brush teeth, and play Car Town.. those were the start of our day.  Then we added a new thing:  At a garage sale, Grandma bought a set of Learning Resource math squares and centimeters and other shapes.  We don't have any instructions, but Mimz was familiar with them (she said she might even have some in her boxes of school supplies since she was a math teacher).  We started our play with one of us making a simple pattern and then the others would try to copy it.

Then the patterns got more complicated.  I liked being the person making up the pattern.  Next we played "gather your color" where we mixed several colors in a pile and we each had to collect all or our two chosen colors.  The first one finished would raise there hand.
Then we build towers to see how tall we could make them before they fell.  Then we started making and matching patterns again.  We didn't do all of that in one sitting.  We would play Keep Away, or Dream Snatchers, or Car Town, then we would go back to the math games.
I never tire of playing Fireman.

We read a Richard Scary book, one that belonged to my Mommy when she was a little girl.  We talk about all the pictures and laugh at the silly things the animals were doing.

I helped GGM fix some fried potatoes and onions, a favorite of all of us.  We ate leftover ribs with them for lunch.

It was an afternoon of routine play until about 6pm, when Mommy got off work.

Daddy and I met Mimz for breakfast at Strack Farms buffet.  Kids under five years old are free.  They have lots of fruit and I love it.

Mommy got home from her weekend of scrapbooking around noon.  She laid down and I joined her for what ended up being a three hour nap.

Daddy, Mommy, and I went over to Mimz house for dinner.  Daddy cooked on the grill.  My parents bought me a Lego's Fire Station.
I started reading the instructions and putting it together with Mimz assistance.  Oh, what fun.  We left for home around 8pm.

My soccer game was at 9:45 this morning.  I have only two more games after this one.  PaPa will fly back here from Nigeria on Wednesday so he will get to see the last two games.  I had a bigger than normal fan club:  Mommy, Daddy, Mimz, GGM, Barbara, Grandma, plus Andy and Kristan.  I'm sad to write that we did not perform well..... we are only four years old so I guess that can happen.  I had fun anyway, and I'm glad my family comes out to support me.

I went home with Mimz while Daddy went to work out.
Later in the afternoon we went over to Aunt Kaki's for a crawfish boil.  Beckett and Landry were there and later Hudson and Harper came.
I can't wait to be as big as Beckett so I can hold the crawfish like he can.  I was getting brave... that is my arm reaching to touch the crawfish.  This was my first crawfish boil, so we didn't know if I would like them or not.  Well, I loved them!   Mimz could not peel them fast enough.
This is the pile of heads that she peeled off.  You can see that between the two of us we had a bunch.  When Mimz was finished, I had to find another willing peeler.
Anyone who would peel for me, I would eat with them.  Uncle Wendell was willing to share.  That is Lyndsey on my other side.  All of the kids ate the crawfish, they grew up eating them.

Landry and I played tag and had a great time.  Landry is two weeks older than me and we are the same height.   I did trip and scraped my knee but I hopped right up and anounced I was okay and I took off agian.  Hudson and Harper were there but we forgot to take a picture of all of us kids.  Mimz will try to remember to do that next time.

I was telling Landry that we were getting a new cousin.  She said no and we argued back and forth a couple of times, then we jut took of running again.

Mimz left about 9pm but I was having such a great time Daddy and I stayed until 10:30pm.  When we left my hair was dripping wet from so much running.

Mommy had the stitches removed from her heel and she said it did not hurt at all.  She is now wearing her big black boot and does not need a walker, cane, or scooter.

I played all day with GGM, GGF, and/or Barbara.  I helped Mr. Brad work in the yard for a short time, but it was pretty hot, so he quit after a short time.  I used the iPad more today than I normally do.
I worked one of my jigsaw puzzles.  I only need a little help occasionally.

I sometimes ask how to spell some words.  Today I wanted to know how to spell "hot."   I am learning how to spell "Mimz."  I already know how to spell stop, go, no, yes, Mason, and Barbara.

I slept well last night, from 9:10pm to 7:20am.  I don't have "accidents" even when I sleep for long stretches.

It works well to set an alarm for 8pm letting me know I must stop playing and take a bath, then a few minutes of iPad or TV before lights out.

After school I played with Mimz until the alarm went off letting us now it was time to meet Barbara at Neal's Restaurant.
I stuck my head out Mimz' car's moon roof while we waited for Barbara to meet us.  I was in a bad mood during the transfer but I got over that quickly.

I sometimes have a bad attitude  or bad tone of voice and that gets me in trouble more than anything else.  I will try to be kind and respectful all the time, with not too many slip-ups...
I knew there was a pudding leftover from my lunch, so first thing we did when we got home was go through my school backpack.  I found a book catalog and I read it while I ate my pudding and drank some milk.
Our green plants are coming up nicely so we decided it was time to plant more seeds.
These seeds are planted in the front  yard flower bed.

Daddy picked me up at 5:15pm.

I woke up happy, ready to get dressed, eat and go to school.  We had to leave early so we could drive Mommy to her work first, then we stopped by Mimz to give her my cleats since she would be taking me to soccer practice this evening.

At Mimz I noticed Mimz had some Easter presents for me.  One was a new Lego set and I so wanted to stay home to build it, but Mimz convinced me that we would build it soon after school.  I walked into school happily.

Mimz knew I was tired when it was time for us to leave for soccer practice.  She wondered how many minutes it would take me to fall asleep on the 30 minute drive.... three minutes is all it too.
Daddy, Mommy, Mimz, GGM, and Barbara were all there.  They have all been at every pracitce and every game unless they had something else that had to be done at that time.  They discovered that there was a big shade tree on the other side of the soccer goal so they sat under it instead of out in the bright sun.
I was not playing at 100 percent energy, but I still got in a good practice.   Toward the end we did a lot of running and by that time I was going pretty strong.

Mimz took me home with her to spend the night.
 Baby Girl Laplante....
... doctor's say she is healthy and growing well.

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

It was an interesting morning.   While Mommy and I got dressed, Barbara hustled to get our breakfasts and lunches made, and get us in the car by 7:30am.  I got to go with Mommy to her foot doctor's appointment.
I got to see the stitches on her heel.  She will get them out in four days, but for now she is out of the splint and wearing her big black boot and still using the knee scooter.

By the time we got Mommy to work, I was 40 minutes late to school.  And by the time Barbara got to our home to let Maggie outside, she had been gone from home almost three hours.  Mommy and I both appreciate all the things Barbara does for us.  She goes way way way beyond the call of duty for both of us.  Well, several people help us, but this week Barbara gets lots of extra credit.

A funny thing: A couple of days ago, I was not playing right with our water guns, so Barbara said we were quitting and she put the water guns away.  I kept asking her where they were but she said they were hidden and I would not find them.  Well, today I was in the pantry looking for something I wanted to eat and I found them.  I came out of the pantry with them and said, "Barbara, you didn't hide these very well, I found them."
I played outside a lot today, most of the time without a shirt on.

Monday, April 21, 2014

Mommy went back to work today for the first time since her foot surgery.  Barbara had to drive her and she is using her knee scooter.  She hopes she feels good all day.  I did not ride in the car with them.  I stayed home with GGM and she told Barbara I was very good.

Barbara fixed me pancakes and I bargained to play for ten minutes before I brushed my teeth, then I willing carried through with the bargain.  GGM, Barbara, and I played with my new police station.  I never want to stop playing with it.    I was about to get in trouble for being loud and bossy, when I decided I wanted to play by myself.  Grandma went downstairs and Barbara left to take care of some computer things.  They wonder how long I will play before I come asking them to join them..... It took about 2 minutes before I wondered into Barbara's room and asked her about an app on the iPad.  We sat down on the bed and worked on the app.  Anytime Barbara can get me read books or play iPad games she will always give me as much time as I will allow.

A funny thing:  The Easter bunny gave me two Velcro mitts and a ball that will stick to the mitts.  Barbara and I put them on.  I would pull on the ball, and it would just roll to another spot on the mitt and I would keep pulling and it would keep moving to another spot but it stayed stuck.  Finally I would get it to the edge and I could get it to release.  Barbara and Grandma were just rolling around with laughter.  I was laughing also.  Barbara's phone was in the other room charging or she would have taken a video.   Barbara said that was the funniest thing she had seen in a long long time.
I helped GGM cut up a watermelon.

When my knife couldn't do any more, I tackled my pieces with my hands.  Oh, what juicy fun.  GGF said it was the best watermelon he had ever had.  It was pretty tasty.  We threw the rinds over the fence for the birds and deer to eat.
GGM laid down for a nap, so Barbara and I laid down to watch Emergency.  Barbara fell asleep, but do you think I would???  Not a chance!
Watching Gunsmoke with GGF.

After inspecting our tomato plant and green bean plants we played a lot of ball outside.   I sometimes still insist on falling down when I catch a ball as if I think I am playing football.  GGM and Barbara commented on how I can catch, throw, dribble very well... so much better than I could when they first moved here a year ago.

Daddy picked Mommy off from work, and brought her to Barbara's home.  Daddy and I played in the backyard for a few minutes before he had to leave.  Mommy and I played with my police station for a short time, then it was 8pm and I had to bathe and get ready for bed.  I was asleep five minute after my head hit my pillow.

 Happy Easter to all.

At Grandma's I slept in a big bed upstairs with Daddy.  I woke Daddy up at 6:30am saying I wanted to go see what the Easter Bunny brought me.  Daddy said it was too early and I had to go back to sleep.
I must have been a very very good boy.  The Easter Bunny left me lots of toys.  The big gift was the police mobile station I had wanted.  There were also three dinosaurs, three rubber balls, swimming pool toys, Velcro mitt and ball, sidewalk chalk, three big water guns, a water bottle, and a coloring book.   Thank you Easter Bunny!
Grandma sort of started putting my police station together, but when Andy arrived he took over.
We told him that would be good practice for when he had his baby girl's toys to put together.
I was very pleased with my Easter gifts.
These are the eggs I colored.  Mommy did a good job dressing me in a new outfit that was a pretty Easter color.
Before lunch we had an egg hunt.  Everyone came out and helped me hunt for the eggs.
GGM sat on the porch in the shade and Mommy sat on the porch because of her foot operation.
There were seventy eggs hidden in PaPa's backyard.
Each had a piece or two of candy in them.
Daddy had to lift me up high to get a few of them.
Daddy helped.
 Grandma helped.
Andy helped.
I fould all of the eggs except one.  Grandma found it after we had all left for home.
I put a black olive on each of m fingers and showed it to Andy.  Andy did that when he was a toddler.
I played by myself before dinner.
Family before dinner.

Daddy was a big help after dinner.  He rinsed the dishes and loaded the dish washer.  Then the ladies put away food and washed the big pans.  By that time it was 3pm and time for us to load Daddy's truck and head home.
 Andy and me just chilling...

Andy and Kristan by the Infinity pool.
New landscaping at PaPa and Grandma's lake house.

Later in the evening, Daddy drove Mommy and me to Barbara's home, for us to spend the night.  Barbara has to help Mommy get ready for work and then she has to drive her there for a few days.
I ate some of my Easter candy and brushed my teeth right before bed time.
