Anna Kate was at my home when I woke up.  I could here her downstairs talking to GGM and GGF.   I hurried downstairs so I could see her while I ate breakfast and colored my "monster" on the back of the poem that I am turning in for the Poem Contest.
Outside waiting for the bus were Anthony and Alyssa and me and my gang:  Anna Kate, GGF, GGM, and Barbara.  I always have the biggest fan club.

School was fine.  Our special class on Friday is Art.
We started coloring a picture similar to....
....Van Gogh's Starry Night.  I brought it home to finish it.

We didn't talk about our poems today.  That will give me a little time over the weekend to memorize it a little better.

Mimz, Anna Kate, GGM, GGF, and Barbara were waiting for my bus.   Mimz took me home with her until my dad gets home from work.

I spent the night at Mimz so she was the one who helped me dress for my school picture.  She fixed my hair and she said I looked really cute.

I went off to school looking forward to my special treat for the day.  Alyssa, two other children, and I
I have had great behavior this school year so those four children got to take off the shoes in class.... all day...as a special treat.  We wore only socks in class but put on shoes for lunch, picture taking and art class and recess.  That was a fun thing to get to do.

On Friday's our special  class is art.  My art teacher just had her third child.  That makes three daughters for her.

I jumped off the bus to be greeted by Alyssa.  Barbara took our picture with Cole.  Anna Kate wanted to show me the art work she had been working on.

I had to spend at least 15 minutes completing most of my homework.   I had one page of math to do, which didn't take 15 minutes so we spent some time reading a poem that I am going to turn into the poem competition.  It is called The Monster and I can read most of the words.   We don't know author's name:

The Monster

I thought I saw a monster
Underneath my bed –
His tongue was yellow,
And his eyes were red.

I thought I saw a monster
Underneath my chair –
His face was purple,
And he had pink hair.

I thought I saw a monster
In my room last night –
His legs were orange,
And his feet were white.

I thought I saw a monster
And that he saw me –
But don’t tell my mother
She’ll be scared you see.

I played with Alyssa until 5:45pm.  Then I had to eat dinner and get dressed in my Cub Scout class A uniform.  Barbara was helping me get ready and took me to my den meeting from 6:30 to 7:30pm.  All Tigers (first graders) must have a parent at the meetings.  (Mommy is at a scrapbooking retreat.) (Grandma is supposed to be at a scrabooking retreat but she is awfully sick so she missed today and may not go at all.)

I was the second boy to arrive at our meeting.  the first boy was also named Mason.  He is the grandson of my den leader.

We started by batting around big yellow balloons, just to keep us entertained.  Fist thing we did was pick a buddie.  We were supposed to work together during this meeting.  We had a flag ceremony.
We talked about kindness, which is one part of the Boy Scout Law.  We all agreed that we should be kind to all living things, not huring animals or plants.   We were ready to start working on our Tiger rank requirements.
We went outside with a journal, pencil, and a magnfing glass to take a 1-foot hike.  We used a string to mark off a one foot square area of grass.
We wrote in our jounal all the things we observed: grass and weeds, dead grass, dead leaf, flying bug, cricket, and dirt.
We were to keep in mind that we were to be kind to animals and plants. And the last thing Cub Scouts do before leaving an area is "Leave No Trace."  We make sure we are leaving the area clean.
Back inside the cafeteria we shared our journal with other cub scouts.
We drew a picture of being Kind.
We enjoyed a health snack.

And played with the big yellow balloons at the end of the meeting.
My Boys' Life magazine arrived in the mail today.

I was very excited when I jumped off the school bus.   So was Alyssa.  We told Barbara our news.  Alyssa and I and two other classmates will get to take off our shoes in classs tomorrow for our good behavior.   Mrs. Cat knows it doesn't take much to make us happy.

I got two books from my book shelves so Alyssa and I could do our daily reading.  She read 14 pages while I read 9pages.  Barbara was helping me.
Mommy was watching Alyssa while her mom ran some errands when Daddy arrived to take me with him to my school for a W.A.T.C.H. Dogs meeting and pizza.
We took Alyssa with us.  That pleased both of us kids.

I forgot to write about this day so I'll probably miss some of the things I did today.
The tooth fairy did come.  She left me $2.50 for my upper front right tooth.
This is the thank you note I will send to my family and friends to thank them for helping make my seventh birthday such a special day.

Cole watched me do my homework

Oh, what a special day!
First I lost my first upper baby tooth.  It was just hanging there and I was able to pull it out myself.  It did not bleed or hurt.  We are hoping my old grey baby tooth next to it will start to get loose again and come out soon.

The next great thing about today was my seventh birthday party at Main Event from 1 to 3:15pm.
We had to bring my cake and candles, table centerpiece...
... and favor bags for my friends.  We paid for ten children.  I invited nine friends and eight were able to come.  (I was the ninth child at the party.)

Four of us were they before 1pm and we started bowling: Eli, Jacob, Knox, and Zac.  We all used the gutter bumpers.  Soon Cole, Alyssa, Anthony, and Malichi arrived.  Cole, Alyssa, Jacob, and Malichi were the ones who stuck with bowling the longest.  The rest of us ran off to the game room too look around.  At the end of the party we had tokens to spend in the game room.
After an hour of bowling, we each had two pieces of pepperoni pizza in our birthday party room.
Then we had birthday cake.
My presents.

I opened my presents.  We vacated the party room and ran off to play laser tag.  The boys were too short to play laser tag so they got extra tokens to pay in the game room.
My great grandfather and Mark, Alyssa and Anthony's dad.
Zack's mom, Maritza, Uncle Scott, and Mimz.
Uncle Scott and the happy birthday boy.
Cole, me, Malichi, Anthony, and Alyssa
All of my friends.  Eli, Jacob, Zack, Cole, me, Knox, Knox' friend, Malichi, Anthony, and Alyzza.
Eating pizza.

We were leaving the party at 4pm, which meant I would be late to church school.  We decided Mommy could call to get my classwork assignment and I would go to dinner with Uncle Scott, Mimz, Daddy, and Mommy at Papasito's.

I ate two breakfasts this morning at Mimz.  I had cereal early and was so ready to head to the soccer field.  When my dad came over  Mimz had sausage, bacon, and eggs ready and I ate again.  I have been told my brain and my muscles need food to function.  My brain and muscles should work good today.
My fans at my soccer game were: Daddy, Mommy, Mimz, GGF and Barbara.  Grandma called to check on how I was doing.  She was meeting with a lady about the swimming pool at the new house so she couldn't come to my game.
We lost big time.  The score was something like 6 to 2.  I scored our first goal.  That's all I have to say about the game, except that I like playing and am getting good at being a good sport when my team doesn't win.

Team meeting and snack.

I went home with Daddy.  Mommy had to go pick up the cake for my birthday party.  She put it in Mimz spare refrigerator.  Then she came to get me and brought me home.

We were planning on going to the Cub Scout Bobcat day but I really wanted to stay home to play with Anthony and Alyssa.  Now that they go to after school care, I don't get much time to play with them.
I know furniture is not made for climbing...
...but I just can't help myself.

Anthony came over and he and I cleaned up my room.  It was in good shape but now it is super neat.  Mommy took Anthony and me to get me a Nerf gun.  I used some of the money Grammie and Bubba sent for my birthday.

I ate a good breakfast and dressed in my Metzler school shirt.  The entire school will be wearing the same red shirt today!

Every morning for a couple weeks I had been counting the days until my birthday.  For the past couple of days I have been counting the days until my party.... two more days!  My party is on Sunday.  Eight kids have said they are coming and one maybe.  I invited the little girls next door to Mimz but they can't come, so Alyssa will be the only girl.  I don't think she will mind because she know some of the boys and many of the adults.
After I jumped off the bus, the first thing Barbara noticed was the blood on my leg.  I don't when or how I got that little boo boo.
Cole and I played football in my front yard.  We play way too rough according to Barbara.

On the eve of my birthday, Daddy gave me new black high top shoes.  Early on my birthday, Mommy gave me a big stack of early reader books and a compass.  After school Mimz gave me my Flicker. Oh, what a lucky boy I am.
Mommy made this centerpiece for my birthday table.
Mommy put together all of these party favors for each of my guests.
These are the party favor bags.  Mommy decorated everything, using her scrapebooking skills.  Also the plates and napkins for cake.  The party people will provide everything else.

AK was at my house when Mimz brought me home.  Barbara had already left to take GGF to a doctor's appointment and GGM was watching her. AK had a runny nose so I was supposed to stay away from her if I could.

It was our hiking day at school.  Since we couldn't leave the school property we took a hike around the track with the fourth and fifth graders.
I know the Pledge of Allegiancce.
My first progress report from school this year.  I am a good student.  My handwriting and drawing are not up to par and I'm not willing to spend the time needed to make them better.

Anna Kate and GGM were the only people waiting for me to get off the bus.  GGF, Barbara, and Grandma were at another doctor's appointment.  They are making plans for GGF to have a heart cath and then what every else they need to do before a pacemaker for GGF.  His only complaint is shortness of breath if he exerts very much.

I played ball with Anna Kate and she loved it.  She loves any time I spend time with her.   After Anna Kate was home with her parents, I had Cole come up to my room to play.  Barbara stayed with us most of the time, because we wreck it in just a few minutes of play without someone there to tell us to put away what we are finished with.

Cole and I went played tackle football in the front yard.  The score was 127 to 24 because everytime Cole would tackle me the ball would squart out of my arms.  I had fun and didn't even mind that I lost.  Barbara was very happy I am learning to be a good sport.  (Earned a sticker.)

Mommy went to a musical so it was just Barbara and me for the evening.  After dinner, I took my shower.   We read one of my new books, "Mac and Cheese Have a Perfect Plan."   I had strawberry shortcake for a snack.  I carefully brushed my teeth.  My front tooth is very very lose.  It should come out this weekend.

To fall asleep I asked Barbara to talk to me about our plans for tomorrow.  First she reviewed today, then she started talking about tomorrow.  I was asleep before she finished.

Happy 7th Birthday to Me!
I woke up remembering immediately that it was my birthday.
Mommy had two presents for me this morning:  30 little books for beginner readers.  I looked through them to see if there were any Pete The Cat books.  None... but that was okay.  My other gift was a compass.  I'll need it for Cub Scouts.  Thank you Mommy.

GGM, GGF, and Barbara all wished me happy birthday.
At at the bus stop, all my gang wished me a Happy Birthday.  It was wear a "Texas sports team shirt to school day."  I wore #99  (J.J. Watt) Texans shirt.
Annd Kate was here to wish me a Happy Birthday also.  Mr. Mark came outside and wished me happy birthday.

Mimz and Barbara were coming to school with Subway sandwiches to share my birthday lunch with me.  Anna Kate was sick so Barbara couldn't come.

Mimz brought me a meatball sandwich and root beer.  When I saw her in the hall I ran up and gave her a hug.
At the end of lunch I passed out ice cream on a stick to my classmates.  Mommy arranged that for me.
Mimz got to talk with Mrs. Cat and with a substitute teacher that she knew from her days as a teacher.
Mrs. Cat gave me this birthday card...
...and this book mark.  Thank you, Mrs. Cat.
For the first time every (I think) Barbara was not there to meet my bus.  She kept sick baby at her own home.  Mimz was there to take me to her home.  On the drive home I was doing math in my head.  I gave Mimz all of the fact family combinations for 7 and 8.  I knew 7 + 0 was 7.  I did both mental addition and substraction, all in my head. I take after my great grandfather, John.  He was super good at doing math in his head.
Mimz had a present for me.  Something I had asked for at Christmas time:  a Yvolution Scooter, also called a Flicker.  I love it!  I quickly started learning how to use my body motion to propel it.

Daddy took me to my soccer practice. And the team wished me a Happy Birthday.  Mommy brought a birthday cake to Mimz and then she ran a couple errands.  While we were gone, Grammie called from Chattannga to wish me a Happy Birthday.  I need to call her back.
We had pizza and birthday cake for dinner.
Knox joined us.

I had a great day all day.  I was reminded all day long that it was my birthday.  Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!
I have grown into a fine big boy according to all of my family.
