Today I carefully carried my poster to the bus stop.  My bus friends looked at it and saw their picture on the poster.  That made them smile.

Mrs Meredith took my poster from me and when it was time, she had me come to the front of the room and tell my classmates about the pictures. I explained the GGF and I watch Gunsmoke, that I like soccer, baseball, and swimming.  I told them about Anna Kate, and mutton busting and iFly  The Woodlands.  Mrs Meredith will hang my poster on the wall and my friends can come up close to look at it this week.  I will take it home on Friday.

I only got to play with my friends for a few minutes before our plans changed.  Barbara took me to Sprouts to met Mimz.  Mimz took me home with her so my parents could take me to Academy and then to practice catching.    I keep improving. 

Daddy played golf today.
Mommy, Grandma, and I went over to Andy and Kristan's to work on my star student poster.

 I helped pick out some pictures.  And I colored the letters of my name. Mommy decided where to place the pictures.

 I had my name, my favorite sports teams, my friends, my family, and activities I like on the poster.

We took my little "front door" toy for Anna Kate to play with.  I played with it a lot when I was her age.  Barbara can't wait to play with it and Anna Kate tomorrow.

I had baseball practice at 5pm.  

I knew I was going to have another special day.  I spent the night at Daddy's.
He had to go to work.   I GOT TO GO TO WORK WITH DADDY.

 First thing, I wanted a Cowboy's hard hat.

I got to sit in a construction vehicle and pretend to drive it.

 Daddy, Mimz, and I went to Landry's 6th birthday skating party.

 I got better and better.  I brought my skates that Mimz bought me a month or so ago.  I have practiced at her house, so I know how to skate.

We went to Jax Hamburger joint after the party.   That is Uncle Scott and Aunt Jill's favorite place to eat hamburgers.

We have a morning routine and it works pretty well, if I am agreeable.  Breakfast, brush teeth, wash face, get dressed, pick up backpack, and run out to meet my friends before the bus arrives.

I sat next to Nolan and RJ at lunch.  The weather was nice so we did play on the playground.

I jumped off the bus to find Mimz and Barbara waiting for me.  And as usual I wanted to play with my friends.  I asked Mimz if she brought Max.  She didn't because she and I had to run some errands.  One thing we had to do was buy a birthday present for Landry.

Before we left, we looked in my backpack to see what I brought home.


                          WOW

We were surprised to find I earned a "sticker" today.  My first three days I had "orange" meaning "great job."   A sticker means "off the chart."  I didn't know what I did to earn that top rating.  I must have had outstanding behavior at the end of this week.

I ate a quick snack before Mimz and I left to run errands.

I had time to play with the neighbor girls before Daddy arrived.  I could hardly wait for Daddy to get here because I knew we were going to see Big Mason. We ate dinner with his family.  We had a great time playing basketball.

Mimz woke me up at 6am to make sure we had time to leave the house by 7am.  I ate a good breakfast, was cleaned up, and dressed by 6:40am, so for 20 minutes I just played with Max and did my own thing.

There was not much traffic on the drive to my house so we were there by 7:20.  We walked Max up and down our dead-end street, then I went inside to find Mommy and GGM.  They came out to visit with Mimz and Max.  Jackson arrived so I went to the bus stop corner to visit with him.  Mimz enjoyed seeing me step onto my bus.

Max sat in my car seat on Mimz' drive home.  When they got home they went on a walk.  Mimz tries to walk 10,000 steps every day.  She is trying to build Max up to being able to go for long walks.

At school I sat next to Nolan to eat lunch.  We can sit next to anyone we want to.

I hurried inside after school to eat a snack, change my shirt, and head outside to play with my gang: Anthony, Alisa, and Jackson.   We mostly play outside because AK might be napping and we are too loud for the old folks (that includes Barbara.)

We had leftover pork chops for dinner.  I knew I had to come in at 8pm for a quick snack, a shower, and brush teeth and in bed by 8:30pm.  My mom was at a scrapbooking convention with Grandma.  I planned to stay awake until she arrived but I fell asleep soon after I laid down.

Mommy got home at 9:30.  She woke me up as I asked her to do, but I didn't wake up much.  I probably won't remember she woke me up in the morning.

It is pretty easy to get up and get ready for school.  Normally I only have to eat breakfast, brush my teeth and wash my face, put on my clothes which we have already laid out, pick up my backpack and walk across the street to Brad's house.   Today I had to take a shower because it was too late for me to do it last night since I didn't get home from baseball until 9pm.  The bus arrives around 7:40am.  School starts at 8:15am.

At 3:40pm Anna Kate and Barbara met the bus.  I told Barbara the best part of my day was recess and coloring.  I wouldn't tell her anything else.  I walked in the door and smelled something baking.  It was the brownies I asked GGM to make for us.

I changed out of my school shirt into a play shirt, then I played with Anna Kate and played with Barbara's iPad.  I was a very good boy.....

Until I called Mommy while she was driving home.  I got mad, maybe it was about the helicopter that is in the shop, I wouldn't tell what I was mad about.  But for 30 minutes I was crying that I was not going to baseball practice, I was not going to school tomorrow, and I was totally disagreeable.

After Mommy made me get dressed from practice and I was in the car, I was my normal self, as if those 30 minutes never happened.

At practice I did a good job hitting.  I need lots of practice with throwing and catching.

I went home with Mimz.  Mimz helped me take a quick bath while Daddy fixed me some food.  I told Mimz I wanted to hang out with my dad, so she went into the den while Daddy and I ate and talked.    We will have to get up early to drive me home so I can catch the bus.

Mimz was impressed that I already knew my PE and music teachers names.  I told her I like sitting next to Alyssa on the bus.
 

Off to school without a hitch.  I have sat by Alyssa  coming and going to school on the bus both days of school.  (I don't know how to spell her name. We will try to remember to ask her.)  I think she is my best Kindergarten friend even though she is not in my class.  I do see her during the day.

The lights were about for a period of time because of a rain storm that came through.  We did not get to go outside for recess.  I would not tell Barbara about anything I did in the classroom except that the teacher read to us.  I don't remember what she read about.  I had a grill cheese sandwich, strawberries, and chocolate milk for lunch.

I got a "orange" color rating by my teacher today.  That stands for "great job."  We get a rating every day.  There are three rating higher than orange and five rating lower than orange.  So I did well.


The bus was only five minutes late today getting me home.  I hurried inside for a snack.  I had leftover pork chop and mashed potatoes, chocolate milk, and Fiber One cereal bar that GGM makes.

I spend a minute or two with Anna Kate before playing on the iPad to rest for a bit.  Then I ran upstairs to change out of my school shirt.  Mommy wants me to change to a play shirt when I get home.  Then I ran outside to play with Jackson, Anthony, and Alyssa.  We played guns inside for a while, then Barbara ran us outside saying Anna Kate was sleeping and we were making too much noise.  She really doesn't like my guns.

I had baseball practice.  We worked on throwing and catching.  I really need to practice a lot to catch up with the other boys.

It was 9pm before I got home.  I was tired so I went straight to bed.  I'll get up early in the morning to take a quick shower.



  

First day of kindergarten.
Mommy woke me up at 6:30am which gave me an hour to get ready. We had a rough time getting me to wear shorts.  I agreed to wear shorts last night but changed my mind.  Finally I agreed.
I was not agreeing to picture taking especially by Barbara. I did let mommy take my picture in secret holding my Kindergarten sign.

I was pleased that my dad came to watch me get on the bus.

Anthony (4th grade), his sister Alyssa (Kindergarten) and Cole (first grade) were at my bus stop.  Jackson's mom took him to school this morning but he will be on the bus this afternoon.

My parents got in Daddy's truck and drove to the shopping center by the school.  Then they walked the short distance to the bus drop-off and watched me get off the bus.  A tag was put on my backpack showing where I was supposed to go.  They took me to my classroom.  Mrs Meredith met us at the door. 

 My supplies were on my desk.  Mommy pre-ordered them on-line.

She helped me put my backpack way and helped me find my desk.  My parents watched from the doorway.  They can't believe I am a Kindergartner.

Barbara and GGM watched AK at my home today.  AK is really working on learning to walk.  We watched her take 11 steps in a row all by herself.  And she did almost that many steps several times.

I colored this picture at school.  I didn't have any homework, but Mommy had lots of papers to fill out.

My bus was to drop me off in front of Mr Brad's home at 3:40pm, but it was 4:10pm before it arrived.  Mr Mark, GGF, AK, and Barbara all stood out in the 90+ temperature 100 percent humidity waiting.  They sure love me.

I went inside and called Mommy, Mimz, and Daddy returned my call so I could tell them about my day.  I didn't say much to any of them.

I sat next to Alyssa on the ride home.  She was going to come play at house but her dad said another day.  Let's get settled in to the new year for a day.  But later she did come over, along with her brother and Jackson (5th grade).  We played until almost 8pm.  As they were leaving, I hollered, "I will see you all on the bus tomorrow."   I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, then ate three pieces of raisin toast before getting in bed.  I went to sleep pretty easily because I had a very full day.

My favorite part of the day was recess.  We played on the small playground.  For lunch I ate pizza, carrots with ranch dressing, strawberries, and chocolate milk.  I ate it all.

We said the Pledge of Allegiance.  We didn't sing any songs.  The teacher read to us and that was boring.   Mrs Meredith has a 10-month-old baby and two dogs (Bones and ____)  I like the children in my class.
 

I woke up wanting us all (Bridget, Grandma, Barbara, GGM, GGF) to go out for breakfast, but everyone had already eaten except my mom and me.  Bridget was gathering her things so she could start her three hour drive to get home to San Antonio.  GGF and Grandma were working the Sudoku puzzle from the newspaper.

Barbara and GGM were picking up the house, like they are often doing.  Mommy and I went to eat breakfast with my dad (I think)

GGM and Barbara started working on the Lolita room.  We need to make room for the boxes that are still at our old home.  When Mommy and I got home I helped her unpack some of her things.  I is a long process since we have so many things going on.

 We will do it in the morning also, but we wanted to make sure we got some good pictures so this will give us to chances.

Grandma Brenda drove home.  GGM fixed pork chops and sweet potatoes, but Mommy and I didn't eat.  We drove over to Mimz home.  Daddy grilled steaks for a back to school celebration.

Daddy bought me an expensive remote control helicopter.  I took it to Barbara's but she thought I should keep it with Daddy or Mimz.  She didn't want it to get broken at her house. 

When Mommy and I got home I got to go on a bike ride with Jackson and his mom.

I was in bed by 8:30pm, but it was 9pm before I was asleep.  I guess I was too excited about starting school.

Happy First Birthday Party, Anna Kate!

 I've never seen so many babies at a birthday party.  I was the oldest child.  There was a four-year-old and a three-year-old and about 6 babies younger than Anna Kate.

   A funny thing:  Everyone had arrived and all the babies were being admired but there was one that was missing.... Anna Kate was in her room napping.   haha

 Most of these pictures were taken before lots of people arrived.  There was a houseful of peole.

She made a grand entrance wearing a pink tutu and walking while holding on to her mommies hand.  She didn't know what to think of all of these people.

 I mostly played with four-year-old Peyton.

 I did sit down to watch a little golf on TV.

She didn't know what all the fuss was about, but she enjoyed the entire day.

 We played in AK's toy room, but we had to watch where we stepped because there were little babies crawling everywhere.

I did get to go swimming with Uncle Andy after most of the friends had left.

Mommy woke me up.  I said, " will you call me at 4pm, to let me know you will be home soon?", then I rolled over and went back to sleep.

I did get up before Mommy left.  I walked her out to her car then came back inside to lay on the couch.  I took Barbara's phone to call Mimz and let her know I would probably see her at the hospital today since Barbara and I were driving Grandma there for an upper GI exam.

 GGM loves watermelon and they are very tasty this time of year.  I like...

Barbara has told me several times to have my left foot forward when I throw.  I will learn one day.

I spent the next hour looking at pictures on Barbara's phone.  Barbara and I talked about several of the pictures.

My old blue chest of drawers is in Barbara's room because there was not room for it in my room.  We had been thinking I needed a night stand so I helped Barbara moved things out of a little old night stand and into the blue chest.  Then we carried it into my room.  I now have a night stand and reading lamp by my bed.

Within a few minutes of our arrival at the place where Grandma will have her test, Mimz arrived dressed in her volunteer jacket.  She took me to meet some of her volunteer friends.  I did a good job talking to them and they found me to be bright and friendly.

 I entertained Barbara and GGF while we waited at the hospital.

Mimz returned me to Barbara and GGF just in time for us to go eat lunch in the hospital cafeteria.  I ate some of Barbara and GGF's food, fried fish, and an interesting salad.  Then I got choose something different from the ice cream area.  Well, it was not ice cream, it was something salty.  Barbara and GGF each took a few bites but they didn't care for it either.

At the end of her volunteer work, Mimz eats lunch with her friends.  I joined her and went home with her.

Grandma's test showed she has an ulcer, which she has known she has had for 30 years. 

Today is Anna Kate's first birthday!  My goodness, her first year has just flown by.  Her party is on Saturday and I will be there.

Mimz and I decided to have one last doughnut shop breakfast.  I always want a sausage and cheese kolache.  I wouldn't let Mimz take my picture.

At 11:45am Mimz and I met Barbara at Papa Murphy's next door to Sprouts.  Mimz was buying pizza for a back-to-school pizza party with Mimz neighbors.  I went home with Barbara so could get ready to go "meet the teacher" with Mommy at 1:30pm.

At 1:30pm Mommy and I arrived at Metzler Elementary School along with a couple hundred other students and their parent.  It was pretty exciting.

We found my room and I met my teacher, Mrs Jennifer Meredith.  She is pretty, tall, skinny, in her late 20's, and has short hair. She has been a teacher at Metzler for five years.  She was very nice.  I was a bit shy at first.  She said, "You and I will become best friends!"  Mommy took my picture with Mrs Meredith.

 We did a scavenger hunt type game.  We found the first place and we had to fill out our address and email address.  Next place we said I would be riding the bus.  My bus number is 170.

We were able to skip the school supply part because mine were ordered on-line long ago.

 Next we found the bathroom, which is right next door to my room.  (Cant get these pictures to rotate.  Will work on that problem.)

Next Mommy signed up to be a volunteer.

In the cafeteria we set up my school lunch account.  Lunches are $2.05 a day.  From now on Mommy can pay for them on-line.

We bought me a blue Metzler's Husky shirt.

I am all set.  While Mommy drove me to Mimz home, I called Barbara and told her everything I could remember that had happened.

I saw two boys that had been on my old baseball team, twins Cooper and Jacob.  They are in second grade.

My personal number at school is 3246.  This will be my number all the way through Middle School.   I am really really ready for kindergarten to begin!

Peyton, ,Brooke, Jenna, and their parents came over to Mimz home for our back-to-school party with Mimz, Daddy, and me.  I ate hamburger pizza.  After eating we went to an ice cream place (I've forgotten the name) and enjoyed ice cream.

Mimz drove me home and we visited for a few minutes talking about "meet the teacher" day and about our party.

 After Mimz left Barbara and I took a large tub filled with watermelon rind behind the fence...

 ... and we threw the pieces with all our energy.  Oh, what fun.  Barbara has told me several times I have the wrong leg forward to throw, but I keep forgetting.  Mommy and I went upstairs to brush my teeth and get ready for bed.  I played with mommy's phone until 9pm.... lights out time.

GGM and Barbara worked on a big project.  They cleaned the dining room chandelier.

I asked Mommy to wake me up before she left for work.  I didn't remember her waking me up, but she said she did and I said, "Have a good day, and I will see you at 5 o'clock."  then I rolled over and forgot that had happened.

When I did wake up, the house was quiet.  I found GGM folding laundry.  Barbara and GGM were outside cleaning the waterfall.  I went outside and talked about the plans for the day.  I asked to the phone to call Mimz.  Mimz and I talked and we decided we would meet at Sprouts at 9:30am. 

So I had to quickly get dressed while GGM fixed me some pancakes and Barbara finished up the waterfall work.  We went inside to do some produce shopping, when Mimz drove up with Max.  His being with her was a surprise which made me happy.

I had to hustle to be ready to go to the neighborhood swimming pool with Barbara, GGM, and Maddie at 9am.  I have been sleeping late the past few days. 

We had fun diving for rings, floating, racing, and doing somersaults.   Maddie and I raced two times.  She won the first time, but the second time I used my big arms and I won.  Using my arms makes a big difference.

GGF had broken one of his teeth, so I went to the dentist with him and Barbara.  I like watching what they are doing and asking a hundred questions about what everything is.  We were not there very long.  It was decided that they would come back at noon tomorrow to do a root canal and put on a crown.

At 4:30pm I had my last swim lesson of the session.  I had a different teacher and I did a good job but I still need a lot of work.  I got a progress report.  I only lack one skill being about to move to the Blue Fins group.  I need to "reach and pull with my arms over water and controlled kick for 15 feet."

We went to Walmart to get some Italian bread which is what GGM likes to eat, but the shelves were empty.   As we were about to leave, the skies opened up and the rain fell and the wind blow.  No one was leaving the store.  I had a ice cream cone from McDonald's while we waited.

It was after 5pm and the traffic was horrible and a street light was out so we inched our way home.

At 6:30pm Barbara and I went to Maddie's surprise birthday party.  Mommy was going but she had to go to our old house to meet Andy and Kristan so they could get the breakfast room table and chairs.  Maddie was very surprised when she walked in from shopping with her aunt.  We had noise makers and hollered "surprise."   She loved all of her gifts.   We gave her a small pink speaker that she can attach to her iPad and play her music louder.  (That is what she wanted.)  She hugged me and I actually blushed.   The best part of the party was her mother telling Maddie that she made the school tennis team.  Maddie was super super happy about that.  She said this was the best birthday party she had ever had.  I'm glad I was there. 

Most evenings, GGM and GGF are downstairs either watching TV, working on a jigsaw puzzle, or playing Bookworm or Bridge on the computer.  Barbara is in her room chilling.  Mommy and I go into Mommy's room.  We don't turn on the TV.  I use the iPad to play games or watch shows or sometimes I work on scrap booking projects with Mommy.  Lately we have been working on decorations for Anna Kate's birthday party.

I got into trouble when I refused to go brush my teeth.  I don't know why I don't do whatever I'm supposed to do and avoid the hassle.
