I remembered to think of a good thing that happened at school to tell Barbara. Mrs. Cat told me that at the beginning of the school year my penmanship was not very good, but it is much better now.
I passed my 3rd quarter Word Wall assesment. Now I am ready to work on the last quarter.
I earned anther sticker for great behavior today. I counted how many great days I have had... it was over 100. I've had 8 not so good day. Pretty good average I would say.
After school I played with a group of seven boys on our bikes today. Cole and Alyssa are both still grounded, so there were not a part of the fun. At 5:45pm I asked Barbara if I could go to the park with this group. She said no, and I was really upset. She had lots of good reasons: No adult or much older child, I had homework to do, I needed to eat and get cleaned up so I could get to my 6:30pm den meeting on time. I still didn't like it that I couldn't go. I had five minutes of being upset, then I got over it.
Mommy and Grandma are at a scrap-booking thing in Dallas, so Barbara took me to my den meeting. It was held in the Wimbledon Falls Club House because Metzler school needed the cafeteria for some school event. There were eight boys and their adult at the meeting. I carried the American Flag during the flag salute. We all said the Scout Law and the Scout Oath.
I was the only boy to bring my dog food and leash to donate to the Abandon Animal Shelter. The others forgot. They can bring it to other meetings. In the picture above, the sack on the table is my donation.
We were given forms to fill out for each person going camping. The leader decided we would go visit the Abandon Animal Shelter on April 21st during our den meeting, so I asked if I should take my dog food back home and take it to the shelter during the meeting. Mrs Merry said that would be a great idea.
Only two boys had their knight shield ready to share. Mine is so nice I will put it on the wall in my room.
I also earned my Cyber Chip Certificate.
That means I learned some very important rules that I need to follow when I'm on the Internet, like not sharing personal information about myself with people I don't know and telling a trusted adult if anything on the Internet makes me uncomfortable.
I got one of my friends phone number.
Then we were ready to go outside and have some fun. We started with a knight's jousting event. I didn't really know how to gallop but I tried. We used pool noodles as lances and hula hoops as the target.
Next we threw a Frisbee into a bucket. Some boys had no idea how to throw a Frisbee. I did a good job, but I've had lots of practice. (Thank you, Barbara for playing Frisbee a lot with me.)
We had two other events before the final obstacle course. We jumped over pool noodles, threw a ball into a basket, crawled through four hula hoops and did the limbo. We did this event three times. On the final time, I did complete the limbo. There are no pictures of this because Barbara was manning one of the obstacles.
We had snacks then it was time to go home.
I finished my last page of math homework, brushed my teeth, and read a little, before 8:30pm. That is lights out time. Then I decided I wanted to call my dad. We chatted about field day tomorrow and then some about the weekend. Daddy said Knox was hoping I would be around this weekend. Then I decided I needed my toe nails clipped a bit. Barbara obliged, then she said no my talking and I was left in my dark room to fall asleep. I thought it would take a long time for me to fall asleep, but it really was just a couple of minutes.
