Because I had a fever last night I did not go to school this morning, instead I went to the doctor since I had a fever off and on for four days a week ago and my temperature last night was 102, Dr. Lacour was booked so I saw Dr. Moye.
Mimz and me in the doctor's waiting room.
I may be sick but I still like to do silly things.
The nurse said I did not have a fever and I was 41.5 inches tall and weighed 36 something pounds. Those are the same numbers Barbara got last week.
Dr. Moye was an older man, who said it was good that I was learning to swim and then he told Mimz and Barbara that now I really had to be watched around water, because now I have confidence that I can swim and I might decide to jump into a pool without proper supervision. Mimz told him how my swim instructor said the same thing and how teaching me to get out of the pool and how to turn onto my back to float were what we work on most. He sort of scared me when he stressed with vigor how serious we need to be about letting me know the pool rules. Later I relaxed and realized he was not mad a me.
I went to the lab and they pricked my finger and drew a little blood. I sat on Mimz lap and I did not hardly flinch, mainly because it happened so quickly. I did not have an ear infection and my blood work showed my problems, so hopefully I am fine. I have not been my perky self for a couple of weeks. I stop to rest a lot during my play.
Dr. Moye said do all the things we are doing already: Keep me inside out of the heat. Not to worry if I didn't eat well but to make sure I drank plenty of liquids and got plenty or rest. The doctor said I could take Flintstones Complete vitamins when I am having spells of not wanting to eat. Dr. Lacour says vitamins make expensive pee if a child is eating a good diet.
Back at Barbara's home, Ricardo and his wife Maria were busy painting our master bathroom. They do all the painting for my entire family. I was being shy and would not have anything to do with them. I sometimes am like that.
Picture of me with two Band-Aids. One from the blood lab, the other over an ant bite. I helped Barbara clean it, medicate it, and put on Band-Aid.
An interesting thing: I asked Mimz why birds and animals run away when I come close. She explained that they were "wild animals" and they were shy and they ran to avoid people. She said I am sometimes shy when I am meeting people. I said, "I guess I am a "wild person."
I had good behavior most of the day. Occasionally I have a bad moment or two and where I say something mean. Everyone hopes I quickly learn that is not acceptable.
A funny thing: I was watching mountain bikes on our iPad. I told Barbara to pause it because I was going to sleep. (I know how to pause it myself) I turned over and a few seconds later I was asleep.
Barbara woke me up around 5pm. I jumped up quickly and said I need to go potty. I told Barbara how I don't need diapers because I can wake myself up when I need to go potty.
We met Mimz at CVS because of all the construction going on near our normal meeting place.
Mimz and I saw a minor car accident on our drive home. A police car was there...
and I watched the tow truck loading one of the cars. I was upset when we drove away, I wanted to watch longer. The odd thing is when Barbara and I were driving to meet Mimz today, we stopped at a light and watched two police cars and a tow truck help a lady with her car.
Recently I had asked Mimz about bumble bee stingers. There was a dead bee on her driveway so we took that opportunity to closely examine the bee and its stinger. Mimz used this as a teaching moment and I listened and was really interested in learning.
We also had a lesson on solids and liquids. Mimz had an old bag of ice to discard, so I threw it out on the hot driveway and I saw how ice changes from one state to another.
Grandma and PaPa had three people interesting in buying their home. They accepted an offer for more than they were asking. They close on September 27th.
