I wanted to go to school as soon as Mommy dropped me off a Mimz' home, but it was way to early.  I argued and would not listen to reason and before long I was in Time Out.  I wanted to walk to school or ride my bike (that couldn't happen, it is too far) and I kept telling Mimz "bye-bye" but she just ignored me.  I sat in Time Out for twenty minutes crying about anything I could think up and still Mimz ignored me and I would cry some more.  I knew I had a choice: stay home inside all day with Mimz or go to school.  I said I wanted to go over to Barbara's but that was not one of my options.  I kept on crying.  Well, finally I went to Mimz and let her hold me while I cried a little more.  After a few minutes, like magic I was sweet Mason again and I wanted to go to school.  I walked into school school thirty minutes late but all was well.  Mimz told me she was going home to rest up from the mornings ordeal and read a bit.   Sorry Mimz.  I don't know why I sometimes get so stubborn.

Barbara and GGF picked me up from school and I had one thing on my mind: my new bike!  I chattered the entire trip home, sometimes talking about my bike and sometimes singing songs.  They were songs Barbara didn't know.  She assumed there were country songs I heard on Mommy or Daddy's car radios.

Did I go inside to see GGM and Anna Kate like I always do?  Ha Ha.  Guess again!  I found my new bike.  Oh it is beautiful!  I love the kickstand.  This is my first bike with a kickstand.  GGF lowered the seat as low as it would go.  I can reach the pedals just fine.  It is a bit of a stretch for me to reach the ground because this is an 18 inch bike and my others are 16 inch, but I was determined to make it work.  I had to practice stopping and leaning to the left a bit, to get my shoe onto the ground, but after a few times of practicing I had that mastered.  I had no trouble riding the bike.  I quickly learned that the left hand brake stops the front wheel and the right hand brake stops the rear wheel.  Someone needs to explain how I should use them properly.   Barbara doesn't know.  She never had a bike with hand brakes.

I must have used that kickstand 50 times (and that is not an exaggeration) this afternoon.  Three times we went inside to help GGM with Anna Kate, but the rest of the afternoon we were outside riding my bike.  It was dark and I was still riding.   I so wanted to take that bike home with me, but I have been told it will stay at Barbara's.  I have three bikes, one at each of my homes.  Barbara will get me a helmet for her house, then I can ride no matter where I am.    What a lucky boy I am.
I never forget to put on my helmet.   I often remind Barbara of Andy and how he liked to know the rules and then liked to follow them.
I did stop riding to go inside and rest a bit while watching Gunsmoke with GGF.
Inside my backpack we found an "I'm sorry" note that Mimz helped me write a few days ago.  I forgot to give it to Barbara.
A funny story:  We were upstairs and I decided I wanted some chocolate ice cream.  GGM said she wanted some too and she would go get it for us.  She went downstairs and in a couple of minutes I heard the chair lift coming back up the stairs.  I went to go help GGM with the two bowls of ice cream.  I saw a funny thing:  GGM was standing at the foot of the stairs holding her bowl of ice cream.  She was going to stay downstairs.  My bowl of ice cream was riding in the chair by itself.    I was tickled and laughed.  I thanked GGM and ran with my ice cream back into the big TV room where Anna Kate and Barbara were.  I told Barbara that funny story.  She laughed too saying that was the first time they had used the chair to transport something other than a person.
It started getting cooler, so I put on a hoodie and gloves.

It's hard to see, but this helicopter went over us several times with what we think was a person hanging from the end a rope.  He would return with nothing on the end of the rope and then go back with another person hanging from the end of the rope.  We didn't think to take a picture until it was too late to get a close-up.   We also saw this happen the next day when we were driving home from school.

I rode my bike most of the afternoon.
Short video of me enjoying my new bike.
It was pretty dark and I was still riding.  See short video.
It gets dark early now, so for the last ten minutes before Mommy picked me up, Barbara and I played catch in the garage.     Except for my morning ordeal it was a very good day.  I wish Uncle Brad could have been home to ride bikes with me, but it was still a good day.
