My first quarter of Kindergarten I had perfect attendance and Great Conduct. I received school spirit sticks and a Husky's key chain.
I know have a total of six spirit sticks. I will put them on my school backpack.
Andy came over and installed a new bigger car seat for me in Barbara's car. It was my car seat when I was a little tyke.
An interesting happening: GGF and Barbara went to Wal-mart on Saturday. It was crowded and the check-out line was long. While standing in this line for probably 20 minutes, GGF struck up a conversation with the man behind them in line. His name was Bob and his father served in Vietnam. He said he tried to get into the Air Force but he has a condition that causes his bones to be brittle and easily break. GGF told Bob about the three years he spend in the Philippians Islands during WWII. When it was time for us to pay the $84 for our groceries, Bob said he wanted to pay our bill as a way to show his appreciation for GGF's service. Both Barbara and GGF protested, but Bob was insistent. GGF asked him to write down his name and address. He said, "You know my name, and I'm not going to give you my address because I don't want a surprise in the mail. Thank you so much and I am honored." Wow! One of the things GGF bought was a pair of house slippers. He told Bob every time he puts on those slippers he will remember Bob and his generous gift. GGF often gets "thank you's" from people he walks past, because he always wears a WWII veterans hap. He has had meals paid for anonymously several times at restaurants.
