This week is Teacher Appreciation week.  Every day I am taking something to school to give to Mrs. Cat.  Today I'm taking this Crayon covered can with pencils in it. 

While I was at school GGM planted the little cup of grass I started growing at school.  See the coffee filter around it?  We have an area where the grass died.  We want to see if we can keep this grass alive and fill in that area with live grass.

Mimz met bus with McDonald's chicken nuggets for me.  We did homework, dressed for swim practice, and went to swim practice.  Then we dressed for my baseball game and drove there. 

We lost.  The score was something like 17 to 8.  I had two at-bats: a double and strike out.  I played first base mostly and some short stop.  It was the last game of season.  We had a losing season, but I played well and improved a lot.

About 7:10pm GGM went into the garage and told GGF that his dinner was ready.  He had been sitting on the sofa.  When he stood up he lost his balance and fell backwards,  His bottom hit the children's mats we have on the garage floor but his head hit the concrete.

GGM called Andy who arrived in about ten minutes.  GGM had got the bleeding to stop and Andy helped him get up.  Barbara arrived just a few minutes later.  She had been at my baseball game but she left as soon as she got the phone call from GGM.   It was decided that we should be on the safe side and take him to the emergency room.  They left home at 7:25pm.  By 8:10 GGF had been checked out, given an EKG and taken to a room to wait to see a doctor.

The doctor said it was a small hematoma plus a large skin tear.  It didn't need any stitches, just clean with soap and water and use Neosporan as we were on the other wound from last Wednesday.  They did another CAT scan.  The results were normal.  They left the hospital at 11pm and were home by 11:20pm.  GGF ate some pudding and was then ready for bed.  The emergency room doctor said he should start using a walker so he doesn't fall from losing his balance.   (Actually the doctor didn't say that, but that is what we are telling him.)

Wound on the left is the one from last week when GGF had eleven staples put in his head.  The wound on the left is the one that happened tonight.
