Today is the day I have been looking forward to for months... even more than the first day of summer vacation.  I was one of the children who qualified to run in the school's Dream Mile Run. 

I wanted scrambled eggs with hot sauce and bacon for breakfast.  Then I couldn't eat it all.  I was too excited.

My fans: Mommy, Papa, Barbara, Mimz, and Daddy.  Grandma would have been there but she had to stay home for a delivery.  The entire school came outside to watch the race.  It started at 8:45am and was over in a less than eight minutes when the last racer crossed the finish line.

Earlier this school year I qualified to run in the Dream Mile Run and complete against all grade level runners. There were about thirty Dream Mile runners in second through fifth grades. I was one of five second graders to qualify.  I finished in 16th place with a time of 6:54 for the mile and I beat my previous best time. Two fifth grade boys tied for first place with a time of 6:15 for the mile.

I aced my spelling test.

I had two baseball games tonight at 6:30 and 8:30pm.  The first game we lost badly.  The second game we were behind 6 to 3.  The we went ahead 7 to 6.  They ended up winning by one point.  We came close!  I caught three pop-up fly balls while playing third base.  I also played left and right field, but mostly I was at third base.   I did have a big hit out past first base except it was a foul ball and it was caught.  Too bad!

It was at least 10:30pm before I got home and probably after 11pm before I was asleep.  And I have to get up early for a swim meet in the morning!
