Yea! First day of summer! Well, I mean first day of no school this summer... even though I enjoyed going to school every day, I am looking forward to a free summer. I can sleep late and I can't wait to see what activities Mimz and Barbara plan for me. They want this to be my best summer ever. It won't just be fun.... I'm supposed to learn some things too, but I've been told "learning is fun."
Mimz and Morgan had an early flight to Amarillo scheduled, but there was a BIG traffic jam on I-45 so they missed the flight and had to reschedule on a 2:30pm flight. They made that flight. Morgan has a tennis tournament and they plan to meet friends and have a blast! One day I will get to go with them on their little trips.... or maybe not.... maybe they enjoy their just Morgan and Mimz time. I can understand that, so we shall see.
Kristan has one last day of going to school, meetings and clean up loose ends, so Barbara and my great grandparents have both Anna Kate and me together one last day.
After Barbara met Kristan at Denney's, they came over to my house and I held Anna Kate while Barbara fixed her bottle.
Anna Kate holds her own bottle so all we had to do was watch her drink.
When the bottle is empty, she pulls it out of her mouth and sit up ready to start exploring.
I checked the living room floor to make sure there were no little toys laying about, because we needed to sit Anna Kate on the floor. You can only hold her for so long before she squirms away. She wants to move about and explore. I helped pick out my clothes for the weekend at the lake.
Barbara advised me that we were going to start our Mason's Morning Routine today. I rolled my eyes, not really wanting to do it. But I grudgingly helped fix my oatmeal. I said my prayer. I rinsed my bowl and put it into the dishwasher.
Around 10a we drove the six minutes to Barbara's house, where I ran to find GGM. I wanted to see what she was doing so I would know if she was available to play. Barbara advised me that I had a several more items on my Morning Routine that I needed to do and then check them off the list. I had to brush and floss my teeth, wash my face, brush my hair (not really necessary). Then we checked the weather by looking at an app on the iPhone. On other days we will also do this by checking the TV, the newspaper, and by looking outside. We checked on our cucumbers. I was unwilling to water them today. I will help with that another day. My morning chore today was to help PaPa with a big job when he arrived.
Another thing I am doing is reading the newspaper. I am making a Newspaper Journal. I'll find articles of interest to me, cut them out, tape them to a piece of scratch paper, and put them in a binder. I used a three-hole-punch to make holes in the pages. True, I can't read yet, but I can learn about the kind of things that are in the paper and when I can read, I will know how to enjoy all that the newspaper has to offer.
We took Anna Kate for a stroller ride. We had not been outside long before Papa and Grandma arrived. They came to put the big TV and entertainment center back together. I helped (morning chore). I was the "go-fer." I got rugs and flashlights. I held the flashlight so Papa could see how to reattach the 15 or so wires that had to be reattached.
Before pictures: entertainment center is in the middle of the room...
...and other furniture is stacked along the wall.
After pictures: the room is back together, now we just need to add...
...all the toys and baby things.
Mommy and I planned to go to the lake this weekend, so it was decided that I would go home with Papa. Everybody was happy with that plan except Anna Kate. When she saw me leave she cried. Poor baby, she is just to young to join in on all my fun. At the lake Papa and I worked down at the dock getting the boat ready for a ride on Saturday.
When Maddox got home, I played at his house. I ate spaghetti and meatballs with his family. We played in Grandma's swimming pool for over an hour, with Mommy and Grandma watching us. We both swim at about the same level. We play really well together.
The plan was for us to spend the rest of the evening playing at Maddox' home but 30 minutes later we came back to Grandma's saying we wanted to go swimming at the neighbor's house, so Mommy went with me for another swimming session. We ate pizza over there. I remembered to tell everyone thank you and I had a good time.
