I didn't have a problem getting up this morning even though I was an hour late getting to bed last night.
I was glad to see my friends at the bus stop. I have missed playing with them but I've enjoyed my time with my dad too.
My baseball coaches gave us this to think about. It is posted on my bedroom wall. I can see it when I'm laying in bed.
I signed a paper saying I would happily come in at 7:30pm and do my homework and read for 20 minutes. If I didn't I would have to do it as soon as I got home from school tomorrow.
I played with the regular group of boys at Austin's, then we decided to go swimming, so I rode my bike home quickly to change. I must get new swim trunks, the only ones I have at home are my swimteam jammers and they are snug. (I order new ones this Saturday between 10 and noon.)
It was cold for a few seconds when I jumped in, then it was perfectly nice. After I rode my bike home I was cold, so Mommy helped me get good and dry and put on dry clothes so I could go play at Alyssa's. No sooner had I gotten to Alyssa's when Mr. Mark said he would take us to the neighborhood pool. I ran home and changed but wore shorts instead of my wet jammers.
When we got home, I ate dinner and did my reading homework. I changed into dry warm clothes, then got into my mom's bed to read before lights out.
Something interesting: This is a list of the Bookworm games GGM has played with the help of GGF and Barbara at times. Zoom in by clicking on the picture and you can better read the scores. But to make it easier I'll tell you her high score is almost 2 BILLION (at age 88). The second high score was almost HALF a BILLION.
Another interesting thing:
About 55 years ago Great Grandfather John made these two little men out of leftover cement. He shaped them and left them out on the patio. He never gave them another thought. Well, GGM, Grandma (age 5) and Barbara found them and they put them in Brenda's room. Several years later GGF noticed them in Brenda's room and remembered making them. He said if he knew they were going to be kept he would have done a better job. They loved them just as they were. An addition to that story is that possibly the angriest Barbara has ever been at me was when I broke the hat on the larger cement man.... on purpose. Respect is high on her list of important qualities and I was not respecting property of someone else. Talk about mad. She has forgiven me, but has not forgotten.
We are going to take these to The Pond so Grandma can put them in her yard.
