Dan Powers, Papa's neighbor, is a Colonel in the Army Reserves. He teaches soldiers to fly helicopters. He invited Papa to bring me to a place in Conroe where they have 30 Apache helicopters so he could show them to us and today was the day that happened.
Papa came to pick me up at Mimz' home at 12:15pm. I was bundled up because it was freezing cold outside. I'm glad Mimz gave me a heavy Astro's jacket for Christmas! I got to meet a lot of people and they called me a "pilot-in-training."I got to sit in a helicopter for a long time. When the lights were coming on, Colonel Powers and I actually went through some of the "pre-flight checklist." I was physically doing it all. I caught on real quick and they said I did a really good job. Papa and Colonel Powers took lots of pictures and we both had a great time. I enjoyed my Papa time.
Here are some of the pictures Papa and Colonel Powers took:
Papa took me back to Mimz home. Daddy and I played pitch but Mimz didn't join us because it was too cold outside for her. My PlayStation is now fixed so we could play new games. Daddy starts a new job next week so we are enjoying this time together.
I'm getting better and better riding my hoverboard. Barbara thinks I should not ride it with my hands in my pockets. I need my arms ready to save myself from a fall if need be.
GGM and Barbara worked a puzzle that is a map of Texas that Mimz gave them for Christmas in 2013. They have worked it one time each year since then for a total of six times. They work all of their puzzles once a year. They write on the back of the box the date and who worked it. Some of their puzzles have been worked 17 times. That's okay. It's new each time they work them. They probably have at least 150 puzzles. They are particular about the puzzles they work. They don't work dark colored puzzles (too hard to see) or ones that are just scenery or ones that are too hard. They want them to be enjoyable to work. They also divide 1000 piece puzzles into four parts when they take them apart. That let's each person have a section to work on and makes it easier.
