I woke up around 9am and immediately knew it was rodeo day. I was ready to get dressed and get moving.
After I was ready, I read a book while Mimz got ready. When Mommy and Daddy arrived, we loaded up for the drive into Houston. The rain started on our
drive to the rodeo but it was not raining when we parked and started
our walk to the rodeo entrance.
Boo, it started to rain again so we went
to the Lamb and Goat Auction to see Uncle Scott and Aunt Jill. I wanted to go straight to the rides but I understood about the rain and I
enjoyed sitting and talking to Uncle Scott. After the auction we walked
over to the food area (in the rain). It was jam packed but we were out of
the rain. I had some of everyone's food: turkey leg, BQ sandwich,
and more ribs. I really loved the ribs.
We went into the big Reliant Center
to have my picture taken on the Longhorn.
The line was long
but no one complained.
By the time we had that picture taken, it had stopped raining and the rides were open again.
There were lines
but we didn't seem mind.
This year I was tall enough to ride
alone or with other kids I didn't know.
Mimz, Mommy, and Daddy said the joy on my face during each ride made it all worthwhile.
I
even rode on a camel all by himself.
After several rides we went to the
Mutton Bust'n arena and watched about twenty kids try to hold on to the
back of a sheep. Some kids fell off right away, others made it about
half way,and a few held on all the way across the arena. All the kids
received a big Blue Ribbon and the boy with the highest score won a belt
buckle. Next year I will be old enough to do this.
As soon as we
left the arena I spotted the very big Ferris wheel and wanted to
ride it. There was a very long line and Daddy saw a big storm heading
our way on his radar. We had a long walk back to the car so we started
walking in that direction. I was able to ride a couple of rides
along the way. One was a Dragon Roller coaster. I loved it! Later when
Mommy asked what his favorite thing of the day was, I said the
Dragon Roller Coaster. plus I liked riding the camel.
At this point we were pretty damp after the on
and off rain. Our luck ran out and it was raining pretty hard for the
rest of our walk back to the car, we all just laughed and as the adults
tried to avoid the puddles, while I enjoyed waking through as many as I
could. By the time we reached the car we were all soaked and a bit
chilled. Daddy turned on the heat and I fell asleep on the very
rainy drive home. Back at Mimz home, Mimz changed my clothes before we
headed home.
We all agreed it was a wet but happy day. They all said I had been great all day long. We still have a lot of carnival tickets left so maybe I will get a second chance to ride those rides later this week. Mommy and Daddy are not sure they want to ride the big Ferris wheel but I certainly do. As soon as we left Mimz said she changed into nice dry warm
PJ's and jumped in bed just to rest and watch TV. Mimz is going to have company tomorrow: Cousins Ken and Consie.
