I had to make an invitation to a magic show at Boy Scout camp today. I also had to do an experiment about air pressure. I filled a glass with water, put a piece of cardboard on the top, Barbara helped me turn it over. And like magic, the cardboard stayed in place and the water stayed in the glass. This magic doesn't work with a half full glass of water.
Alyssa and I played in my room. We played a game of soccer against Barbara in my room, we won 2 - 0. Alyssa plays my little guitar every time she comes over. We blew up some water balloons, with no water.
At noon we had a swim party at Alyssa's pool.
Today was the last day of Boy Scout camp. We took a group picture.
You can spot me in this picture, if you zoom in to the middle of the picture. I am seated right in the middle, wearing my safari hat with the orange brim up. See me?
I am sitting on the ground right in front of the man doing the talking. I have my hat's orange brim turned up. See me?
Lucas and I held our Tiger flag, that we made the first day of camp.
After our flag ceremony, the Tigers went to Archery.
We were told the safety rules.
Then we were given instruction.
I did great.
They showed me once and I understood what I had to do.
My first eight arrows hit the target.
This is how you safely carry the arrows back to the quiver. The archery instructor told Barbara I was strong and had a naturally ability for archery. Barbara shot five arrows. One arrow flew over the target. One stuck in the target and the three hit the target and bounce off. So she was 1 out of 5. I
was 8 out of 10. I enjoyed beating her. I did enjoy archery.
It was 97 degrees outside, and the best thing happened. A big fire truck came and gave us a shower for about ten minutes. Here is where to look to find me: Find the fireman on the left. My head is just below his left hand. (I wanted to save you from searching for me.) They they went to refill tanks with water and they came back to do it again for another ten minutes. Oh what fun and oh so very refreshing. Mommy got there in time to see the second time the fire truck was there.
I am hanging out with Mason, the Eagle Scout.
He calls me Mini Me. He liked having me ask him things.
I stayed near the fireman so I could see what they were doing. That was one of several highlights of this Boy Scout Camp.
Part of our magic show was learning a magic trick using a dollar bill and a paper clip. We discussed the air pressure experiment we did at home.
I received the camp badge I earned. I did earn the Bobcat badge, but we have to buy that at the Boy Scout store.
Our last activity of the day was fishing.
A fisherman was there to help us bait our hooks.
I was a bit squeamish at first...
... funny me! I got better.
I caught three tiny fish. I unhooked them and threw them back into the pond. We took turns fishing. I waiting patiently.
Mason, Jesus, and Ben. Logan was the only one missing from this picture. This was a super great camp. The ONLY complaint was the heat, and boy was it hot!
