My last football game and practice was today.  It was different from all the other practices and games.  We only had three of our team show up.  One coach didn't show up at all.  The other just dropped by to tell my dad and one other dad that he could not stay and here is the play book.    !!!!  What?

So what we did was practice with the team we were going to play.  They only had five teammates show up.  Then one of their teammates changed his jersey color so he could be on our team.  And one of their two coaches, was our coach.  It was just a fun game.  I played very well even though it was 55 degrees, and very windy and seemed very cold to the fans.  My fans were Grandma, Papa, Barbara, Mommy, and Daddy.  Mimz started to come, but Daddy told her it was not going to be much of a game and it had turned cold, so she went back home where she had lots to do to start getting her house back in order after all the work she has had done on her home this past week.

I played quarterback some and threw at least one touchdown.  And I ran for a touchdown.  I also threw a pass for the extra point.
 I was given a medal.
 And some snacks.
Mommy, Daddy, and me.
Here is a close-up of my medal.

Papa, Grandma, Mommy, and I started our three hour drive to San Antonio right after the game.  I did not sleep at all.  I did play some Word Search pages in my Elf on the Shelf activity book.  We were going to San Antonio because Chris B called saying he was going to propose to Bridget and he was having a party afterward at a San Antonio night spot.

On the drive Mommy explained what Chris was going to do.  I listened to all of the talk, then I asked a question that they had not concidered:  What if Bridget says "No!" ?  I can be very insightful.
There was a Santa Claus at the restaurant.  We had my picture taken with him.

Chris and Bridget had been to her company Christmas party at a location near where we were to meet them.  Bridget noticed many of her friends were leaving a little early.  She didn't know they were going to her party down the road a bit.   I don't know where Bridget thought she was going, but around 9:30pm, she and Chris left the Christmas party and walked towards a bridge.  There were candles lit and a lady asking other walkers to wait a couple minutes.  Chris had hired a photographer.  He stopped on the bridge near the candles, got down on one knee and proposed.  Bridget said yes.  She knew he was going to propose but she had no idea when it would be.  She was very surprised.  They renewed their walk and walked to the restaurant.

Before they arrived, Grandma decided she would go downstairs and get my Santa picture.  While she stood in line with her back to the door, Bridget and Chris arrived.  Bridget saw her mom's back.  Then she saw her purse and knew that was her mom.  "Mom!?"  Brenda turned around, shocked to see Chris and Bridget.  "Surprise!"

Bridget was still surprised when she went upstairs.
She first saw me, then Mommy, Papa, Chris's parents, Matt Evans (who introduced them), Sam Wilson (her best friend from high school), and lots of co-workers and other friends.  She was so happy and surprised.  That was at 10pm.   I was sleepy but I hung in there.

We left for the hotel at 11:15pm.  We used Uber service going both ways.  About a fourth the cost of a regular taxi ride.  Grandma was worried about trying Uber, but Mommy assured her it would be okay and it was.
