I looked for my Elf on the Shelf as soon as I woke up. I found him in the living room. I reminded Mommy that she is not to touch him. She said she remembered.
I happily got dressed, ate grits, brushed my teeth, and carried my backpack to the car so Barbara could drive me to school. I asked if I could buy my lunch. Barbara said, not today, maybe on Friday when they have pizza. It is funny that I just saw my school friends yesterday at the birthday party and now I will see them again today.
I am a pretty popular kid at school. I have Barbara or Mimz roll down the car window when I am leaving so I can holler bye to all of my friends and they all holler back enthusiastically.
Anna Kate was sleeping when I got home, so I convinced GGM and Barbara to play Car Town with me but they still don't like to play rough and tough things that sort of destroy the town, like fires, car crashes, etc.
We played a fun card matching game. At some point I got hot and decided I wanted to put on a short sleeved shirt. I went to my room to find a different shirt.... I had not been in the room more than two seconds when I was really surprised by what I saw..... A few days ago I asked Barbara why we didn't have an Elf on the Shelf at her house..... and there on my book case was an Elf on the Shelf! Along with the Elf book. I hollered and ran quickly to the big TV room, where Barbara was holding Anna Kate. I told her there was a real elf in my room. She didn't know what I was talking about, but she and Anna Kate came to see. She couldn't believe it either. But there he was. I told her not to touch him. I said I bet he is probably for both Anna Kate and me.
Barbara reached to get the book and the Elf fell onto my bed, but that was okay since we did not touch him. We started reading the book. After reading just three or four pages, Anna Kate and I were tired of listening. She started to cry, so we quit reading for the time being. And later I didn't want to hear any more of the story when Anna Kate was asleep.
I decided I was hungry and boy did I eat. I ate two small bowls of homemade chicken and noodles, then two homemade bran muffins, then a homemade sticky bun.
Here I am pretending I'm a bull rider. Barbara would count the seconds before I would fall off.
I did this half a dozen times.
I spotted a large box up on a shelf in my closet and Barbara got it down. It was an alphabet train set, that Grandma bought at a garage sale. She has bought me several things at garage sales. Barbara helped me put it together. I knew the alphabet so it went together pretty well. I played with it by myself for about an hour.
We could not remember the words to The Baby Bumble Bee song so we looked it up on the Internet and sang it.
Can you believe it, Anna Kate is holding her own bottle again! Really she just did it for less than a minute. When she loses it, she can't get it back into her mouth.
When Mommy arrived to pick me up, Barbara and I were raking leaves. We had a big pile and I enjoyed running through it but I didn't fall down in it. We didn't want me to get bitten by ants or bugs.
I was well behaved all day.
